I agree too, with the sub turned off you will get more mid-range and lower-mid expression in music. I find when I turn my sub off my speakers just sound better balanced, meaning less harsh upper frequencies and smother mid-range while adding power to drums, electric guitar, smoothing out vocals and giving any brass sections or lower frequency strings and woodwinds more body/balls. All of our systems are so diverse but with my Forte's and AVR they like full-range, they get a bit harsh when cut below 80hz like the mid-horn and tweeter get over driven a bit.

Yeah, I used a phantom center for at least a year and a half. The way I'm setup it worked great....IMO nothing beats a 2-channel BIG!! full range set up for music. I usually alway set my Pioneer AVR to a 2-channel mode..(PureDirect) for music with no center. Sometimes though with a good mix you can pick up more detail in all the instruments used in surround mode..(again with my center channel turned off)......I also thought that not using a center for movies gave the vocals and the center mixed soundFX a lot more grunt and impact, you just don't get the full panning effect in your font stage, it still works but not to full effect......PS.. I'm never buying a small center channel again, and will for the rest of my life match my L-C-R fronts if space allows...i.e. 3 Forte IIs up front. My RC 64 just sounds small compared to my Forte's. It may just be my seating position in relation to the distance to my front stage...may be too close to the center.

My Grandfather carved his name on the inside of this plane. He was an electrical engineer at Bell and was hired as part of the crew to help build it. I would love to see inside and find it one day. The entire crew have their names inside.......somewhere?.......He left Bell after the X-2b project. I know he had his hands on a number of the X-1's & 2's......If you look on the X-2 page in wiki, he is in the group crew shot........front row, eighth from the left.... ​.....I can't load the pic, it's too big. No kidding......Here in CT the beach I go to has a 30$ cover charge on weekdays and 50$ charge on weekends and Fridays.....Or you can buy one of a very limited number of out of town memberships for 450$. Thats only for the 5 months the beach is open. I'm from Florida, the first time I went to the beach up here and they asked for that much money I actually almost said F@#$ Y@$.....The only thing that came out was "ffffffffff that's ridiculous!!". The rules board at this place reads like a detention center disciplinary outline for inmates.

Placed a call 40 min ago and talked to the guy selling it. He said It is still available, so I told him I'd pick it up as soon as he gets back from work tomorrow......We'll see.... .....I spoke to him 5 hours after his post....A new record for me actually speaking to a person that quickly. Was hesitant to call so late, but I figured I had to take the chance as there was no time limit posted. Picked up on the second ring, let's just see if it works out.....If nobody comes along tonight a grabs it, I maybe in luck........Thanks for the post Opusk!!! .....I'll give an update tomorrow.

I remember seeing a similar vid years ago. I was amazed!!.......I also recollect when I was young wondering how in the H#LL my dog got the water in the toilet to slosh around so violently, and slobber at least a cup of water out of it's mouth and on to the bathroom floor after it took it's whole head out of the toilet. There used to be water everywhere, on the toilet, out of the toilet, the floor, it's face dripping a path 30 feet long.....I wondered how is She getting so much water out of there. I would then try and emulate my dog by getting a really big mug and filling it to the top with water and trying to lap it up, just like an idiot......and I know some of you have tried this... ...I was baffled for years.

MUNGKIMAN that's the most insane meatloaf I've ever seen. When I saw your pic of the whole bar the first time, I said to myself that wood looks burned and sanded, but there's no way he burned and sanded every piece of the whole structure including stools and tables...... ....I was wrong..... Again Dtel very nice work out there!!

Dtel, I wasn't going for this look in the beginning so the procedure is kind of hard to recall, but I remember putting a coat of MiniWax Red oak down on the board. Then spray painted the outer edges trying to fade as best i could to the center. Then I sanded by following the grain of the wood......Hmm this is hard to explain, If you look at the board you can see the lighter grain stands out because I sanded on the edges of the dark grain to highlight the lighter parts of the wood and keep as much black paint in the dark grain as possible. I put sand paper around a sanding pad and used the very edge to get as small area of sand paper on the board to get as much control as possible. I did this with several coats of black spray paint.....And the paint I used was a black (brake caliper) paint, so I'm not sure how normal spray paint will work. I had to put about 4 coats of black spray down before I got the look I was going for. Sanding like I explained each time......Are we having fun yet!!!.. I then put down 2 or 3 coats of stain over the black....each coat was a mixture of 3 parts Ipswitch and 1 part Red oak....Then I started on the clear poly.... ......If you need more instructions Dtel I'll be happy to post some pics.....and who doesn't like pics..I'll post some.

Now I should say before JJKIZAK comes down on me for not sanding, that I did not finish sand after the last coat of spray because I'm looking for a glass like reflection, like it was dipped in glass. I have even sanded with 1500 and it just isn't getting me my glossy, glassy finish I'm looking for......So during the week I went to a furniture finishing store and the man there was none too happy with MiniWax. So he sold me this.... I'm in the process of finishing this weekend.....hopefully... ......I also got some new boards I'm wokin' on

Well this is getting a bit insane, or maybe I'm just an idiot.......definitely, a little of both. I posted some pics of the spray. It was actually nicer than it looks in the pics, it looks like a lot of deep orange peel, but it was quite nice for a final coat.......But I have been at this too long to just leave it like that McDermott I liked your post, I do believe in doing things at a pace that serves for a better result. When I told you I wanted this done 2 weeks ago, I had actually been at this for three weeks. I thought it was going to take me a week to stain and finish....... and it's actually been almost a month now....
