  1. You only have 1 corner and mostly doorways. That looks more like a foyer than a room. If you sit in the chair on the left you are about in the middle, but you already know that. The wall on the left is going to be making that speaker sound different than the right one. There will be a lot more bass gain, and lots of high frequency reflections. You could put wall treatments on the left wall for those reflections, but you will still get that corner loading gain for the bass. The right speaker will sound anemic comparatively. If that door weren't there, you could just move the right speaker into the right corner and that would be that. A false corner for the right speaker might work, but it would look obnoxious on a smallish speaker. Have I helped? I really don't know what else to add...
  2. Good eye. I didn't see that there were 2 different dustcap dents in the two different left speakers till you said something.
  3. Roy, for us newbs, could you point us in the direction to learn about voltage transfer curves with regards to crossovers? I did some Googling, and the closest thing I could find was info on constant voltage crossovers or amp (CMOS) design with lots of math. Nothing of any educational benefit comes up when I type in voltage transfer curve. Is what Bob did checking the VTC? Could you explain it to me like I'm 5?
  4. I ran my 67 mustang last summer. There was a puff of smoke after the second lap so I parked it. Turns out I blew a head gasket. All fixed now, but I am putting new seals in the drivetrain because they were all dried out and also replacing the entire parking brake system.
  5. Rear ports? There aren't any ports anywhere in KP-201's.
  6. This would allow you to buy a tripod and it has the mem card and two batteries.
  7. Jason, the EOS does point and shoot very well. It has a lot of other stuff it can do too. The BIG difference is that it is a DSLR, which means you can use different lenses. It also means the lens on it is better. That Kodak is OK, but it is not even in the same country as the EOS.
  8. You are right, this was a good thread. Thanks for perking it back up, and welcome to the forum!
  9. Not bad if you play in a band. These look like they are in good shape. http://www.ebay.com/itm/klipsch-ksm1211-/252503236044?hash=item3aca5d9dcc:g:HIcAAOSwdzVXtBCN
  10. A bit tattered looking. Under $300 for Heresy's that "sound great" aint bad. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Pair-of-Industrial-Black-Finish-Klipsch-Heresey-Speakers-/322231815935?hash=item4b06834eff:g:C4IAAOSwHoFXtQ3t
  11. How about a thread "movies I can't remember the names of, but I just wanted to tell folks about it". Here is a nice sample review: I saw a movie the other day. I can't remember the name. It had good acting and at one point I almost cried. I was a bit scared in places and in other I laughed. I fell asleep in part but I think the director wanted that because a really loud part woke me up. I wish I could remember the movie or even the night I saw it. There was this one actor in it who is in lots of movies and stuff, but I can't remember his name. He is good looking and average height but a really believable actor when it gets right down to it. This woman who I kinda think I have seen in other stuff, but she is drop dead gorgeous. She was evil!
  12. Does anybody have specs on some of the more common Frazier speakers? I would love to add them to the lists here.
  13. Chris is right on. The KP-201 are fantastic speakers. As you know they are Heresy II's in professional form. The woofer is supposed to be the K-24. Those are still serviceable I think http://www.simplyspeakers.com/klipsch-speaker-repair.html. You also see them for sale on Ebay all the time. I don't think you can upgrade them to H3's since they aren't actual H2's but you can call Klipsch and see if they will sell you the upgrade kit with a KP-201 serial number. If you want them better, look at replacing the tweeter diaghram with a titanium one. I did it on one of my pairs, and it made a noticeable improvement in clarity. Incidentally, don't feel like you can't post pics. If you paid $200 we won't expect much. That is a killer price for KP-201's. I'd bet money they can be reconditioned to look like new speakers with some TLC.
  14. Yup Range Rover. Rolls is coming out with an SUV next year and so is Lamborghini. The good news is that neither Ferrari or Bugatti going to make an SUV or crossover. I still don't get all the HP in an SUV. The only one that makes sense to me is the Tesla, because Elon Musk is Iron Man!
  15. It's a relief to know that you didn't actually execute him. Car forum? Which one are you a sysop in? I used to be an admin at hotrodders.com. Not sure if I still am...
  16. I saw a guy get a minivan on two wheels at an autocross event last year. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen at one. That thing came so close to just laying on it's side. HAHA It came slowly back down and damned if the guy didn't go back out and do the same thing again. Hilarious to see.
  17. Audyssey does a lot more than measure speaker distance and set delays. It also EQ's the entire speaker system and overcomes room difficulties with some kind of pixie dust. Some people love it and some just don't. For movies it is the best thing out there. For music some people disable it. The answer in short is that it really depends. It doesn't hurt to try Audyssey if you have the capability. If it is gonna cost you, then ignorance is bliss IMO.
  18. I have been stung by them. Not too fun! Ever try to pee on your own back?
  19. The only thing that comes to mind is The Outer Limits Here are the old and newer versions:
  20. They take great pictures (right click and open image in new tab to enlarge the most):

  22. What about this system: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-EOS-Digital-Rebel-300D-6-3-MP-Digital-SLR-Camera-System-/272341976022?hash=item3f68d8c3d6:g:ARQAAOSwKY9XiSPJ I use a Canon Eos Rebel and love it.
