  1. Actually seems like a good buy for someone with some painting/staining skill.
  2. You could also use an inch of isolation foam on top of the speaker, so you can bring the Atmos modules closer to the front of the speakers. Even if if you don’t go that route, a 3” overhang off the back of the speaker should be just fine, if you can tolerate the looks.
  3. I think the plastic bulge on the top is only a few inches deep and then the rest of the speaker is flat. I had the F-3’s a waaays back and I believe the F-30’s were the replacement for them but very similar. I believe the Atmos modules will fit just fine, behind that bulge. Luckily, the F-30’s are fairly large and the Atmos modules are pretty small. I would measure, just to be safe, before I dropped the coin though.
  4. “Post has been flagged for removal” Apparently the person that wanted to buy them, to actually use them, is pissed..
  5. You don’t seem open to my suggestion, which is totally cool and totally your prerogative. It’s your money after all. Knowing that, I would put your entire budget into a higher quality single sub, than duals of the subs you have mentioned. I had dual Polk 505’s in a old Definitive Technology 5.2 system I had a few years back. I totally enjoyed them, don’t get me wrong, but I was soon bit by the upgrade bug. The 505’s were replaced by a Rythmik FV15HP and that was when I realized the bass I was lacking with the Polks.
  6. Heard there are free Jubes being offered in this thread.. Full disclosure, I won’t be able to set them up until I move but I would be happy to use the spare bedroom as Jube storage temporarily. Just let me know when you need my address. Thank you in advance!

    Carpet

Unless you are a carpet-muncher, I wouldn’t worry about chemicals too much;) One thing I would highly recommend, for everyone is a quality air purifier on each and every level of their home. We are exposed to far too much exhausts, dust, vapors, gases etc. While air purifiers don’t necessarily take care of all of those mentioned, they definitely help.
  8. I would buy all the speakers you have listed, except for the subwoofer/subwoofers. I would use that system without a sub and keep an eye out, on the used market for a better/larger subwoofer. You don’t need to have the subs match the rest of the system, if fact, you can get much better results if you don’t. 10” subs just don’t cut it for home theater, especially in a dedicated room. Speaking of the room, how large is it going to be?
  9. I love the way Migage Omni speakers “throw” the sound out. These would be a great option for surrounds, especially once that Onkyo is properly calibrated. These are just fine but eventually, if you are anything like many here, upgrading to a matching 5.1 will happen as budget allows. I would upgrade that subwoofer, before anything else but that is an entirely different conversation;)
  10. I love the Pioneer Elite amps. That receiver should be a great match for that system.
  11. Natural is much better looking in person but owners of the espresso say the same thing. Love me some Palladiums!
  12. Not a problem at all! I owned a quite a few original Reference gear, along with some References Premier gear. I did prefer the RP over the Reference sound but it definitely wasn’t a night/day difference. With that said, if it’s in the budget and you have the room, I am sure running 3 RF-7 III’s across the front would sound night/day better:) I am in the camp where the center most important speaker in the system. I also think the front 3 should match, if space isn’t an issue.
  13. You have nice speakers that should be paying nice and clear dialogue, really shouldn’t be a speaker issue, more of a setup problem. My Denon has adjustments that bumps up the level of the center, where most of conversations are heard during normal content. I am not sure what Marantz calls this setting but I believe it’s called Dynamic Volume. This setting should be played with a little before you throw more money at the system. If if you have an itch to upgrade something, I didn’t see you list a subwoofer..
  14. Or to free up $500 from my initial list, swap out the towers and the surrounds for two pairs of these: https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-RP-160M-Bookshelf-Speaker-Ebony/dp/B00RNZ6COS/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1541660494&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=klipsch+rp160m&dpPl=1&dpID=41EpCGeKN-L&ref=plSrch
  15. If you are in the US, contact a great forum member here, MetropolisLakeOutfitters and he will get you better pricing than the amazon links I posted.
  16. With that budget, here is what I would do: https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/pionsclx801/pioneer-elite-sc-lx801-9.2-ch-x-140-watts-networking-a/v-receiver/1.html https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Reference-RP-450CA-Premiere-Channel/dp/B00ZB6G8AE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541658413&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=klipsch+reference+premiere&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-RP-260F-Floorstanding-Speaker-Single/dp/B00S2N49Z4/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1541658556&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=klipsch+rp260f&dpPl=1&dpID=31RLYJcY1LL&ref=plSrch https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-RP-250S-Reference-Premiere-Surround/dp/B071JFR4GX/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541658732&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=klipsch+rp250s&dpPl=1&dpID=41R9yx8jzIL&ref=plSrch And add 2 each of the following, as money allows: https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-R115SW-WA2-Subwoofer-Wireless/dp/B00O5KY6NI/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1541658792&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=klipsch+15+inch+subwoofer&dpPl=1&dpID=41uB1rEVATL&ref=plSrch https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-CDT-5650-C-II-Ceiling-Speaker/dp/B0074WWK3W/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1541658874&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=klipsch+ceiling+speaker&dpPl=1&dpID=41DSVRyX5nL&ref=plSrch
  17. Ok, one more question.. Where are you from?
  18. Nice post 1st post and welcome! We usually have to ask for room size and budget a couple times first. I am headed to a meeting now but I will chime in a little later.
  19. It is a process to pull everything out to have access. Last night, I was glued to my TV for election night. Tonight is is my night to pull everything apart to do some wire management and troubleshooting. Should be fun..
  20. I will definitely keep you fine people in the “loop”, so to speak.
  21. I had a very nice Furman power conditioner/surge protector that I loved but I sold it because I am over the top when it comes to blue lights in my system. The Panamax blue lights lured me away from the Furnan. Now I sit here questioning if I would be having the same issue if I kept the Furman. No need to Muddy the waters with with crazy “what if’s” at this point. Time to troubleshoot! Moosee, I will grab one of those outlet testers on the way home. Thanks for the tip!
  22. I was going to put this in the Solid State section but I figured I would get more help here. We had a windstorm a couple days ago and yesterday, when I turned on my HT, I noticed a constant hiss/buzz coming from my speakers. * Full disclosure, I haven’t had a chance to trouble shoot just yet but I am planning to do so this evening* Here are the relevant components: Denon AVR-X3400H (processor only) B&K 200.7 S2 Klipsch KL-650 x3 (B&K drives speakers) Panamax M5400 I would have hoped that the expensive surge protector would have stopped a surge from causing issues with the B&K but I am not sure. To make things even more confusing on the troubleshooting side is that I also switched from having my front 3 set to small to setting them to large and dropping the subwoofers, the night of the windstorm. My brain is now questioning if that slight hiss/buzz was there when I made that switch but I definitely don’t remember it but I also didn’t put my ear up to the horns either. Here is my plan tonight: 1.) Set the speakers to small and see if that fixes it. 2.) Unplug the amp and try a different outlet in the Panamax. I believe I have it plugged into one of the two “high current” outlets now. 3.) Replace the fuse in the B&K as I ordered a bunch extra. 4.) try plugging the B&K directly into an outlet but this concerns me, due to us approaching our stormy season where power outages are more frequent. 5.) If all else fails, I will start using the onboard amps in the Denon and take the B&K in for service. It couldn’t be a ground loop, right? If there wasn’t a ground loop issue in the past, one wouldn’t just pop up due to a power outage, right? I literally know nothing about electrical panels and house electrical systems so any assistance in helping me get this resolved would be greatly appreciated!
  23. These would be mine, if closer!
