  1. Very true. I have been checking CL at least once a day for a couple years now and still can't find another mint set of 63's. My biggest HT mistake so far has been selling them. If I find a nice pair, I will move the 62's (which I love BTW) to surround duties.
  2. Finally found a stand to fit the 70", RC-64 and everything else. Kind of hard to tell since the wood is stained so dark but it's half sawn planks with natural edges. I love it! Probably one of the best pieces I have added to the room.
  3. The new Thor is totally awesome. It's up there with Tron IMO!
  4. I have been doing a side by side comparison between RC-64 and RC-62 this whole week. I like the way both sound.. My new receiver is on it's way so I will just have to wait until I have it hooked up before I make my final decision. I like the size of the RC-62 when TV stand shopping though.
  5. Not a bad deal though...
  6. For a room that size I would suggest an outlaw LMF-1 EX but it is $649. One of the best performing HT subwoofers under $700. The SVS PB-2000 at $799 is also getting some very good reviews but I haven't heard it yet.

    SVS PB-2000

No problem, I love the input.
  8. 21" woofers? I am speechless for the first time...

    Epics on ebay.

    Great score. Congrats!

    Dobly Atmos

I have also heard that they will not offer Blu Ray' that take advantage of Atimos, only streaming. Huge minus for me if it's true.

    Dobly Atmos

I have been reading about Atmos over on AVS. I am really wanting a new pioneer elite receiver, but the Atmos has me waiting. I have heard one of the Onkyo receivers is already out with Atimos but they ditched Audyssey..

    SVS PB-2000

I bought an older SVS from a guy that had dual Seatons. Crazy! Overkill for me but still tons of fun. One day, when I get a dedicated HT they are at the top of the list. Unfortunately that seems a few more years away.
  13. Rumor has it, the XMC-1 is the reason for that offer. The delay has Emotiva backpedaling and they can't release it with "old technology". That's just a rumor though, I am a Emotiva supporter.

    SVS PB-2000

I wouldn't say that I ikel spending money Scrappy, just that I love testing new gear. I think I will try out the PB-2000 since SVS offers a 45 day trial. If I don't like it, I will either try the SB-13 Ultra or the PC-13 Ultra. I will then probably do duals of either version I choose. Don't get me wrong guys, I love the Rythmik and if it had a little smaller footprint, I'd be keeping it. My dad loves it though so that makes getting rid of it a little easier. Love the input guys. Scoring that RC-64 of CL for $50 has got me back into buying new gear;)

    SVS PB-2000

I have considered buying a flat pack or two but I don't have a garage, so I have talked myself out of it a couple of times. I have also come to the realization that I never listen to anything very loud, the Rythmik is simply overkill for my application. I know that last sentence is blasphemy around these parts but it's the truth. I have also thought about the PC13 Ultras but they put me up over $3k, would prefer to stay around the $2k range. The budget is ever fluctuating though, I think I like buying HT gear almost as much as I like using it.

    SVS PB-2000

No. The thing is a beast but I might give it to my dad, he loves it. I am always switching out subs. Buying new subwoofers gives me great enjoyment for some, demented reason. I am also considering getting another cylinder SVS, I love how small the footprint is.
  17. He probably could have got the same sound with a pair of RB-61's in that room...

    SVS PB-2000

Well, since I couldn't locate a RT-12 and nobody here likes the SW-311 I have decided to look at SVS again. I am wanting two subs again and I have read very positive reviews of this new SVS. Anybody here tried it yet? The reviews are killer at it's $800 price point.
  19. 3 years on CL obsession has got me some pretty killer deals but nothing like this. I was giddy the entire 1.5 hr drive home. It's hard to keep up with Youthman and his killer deals but I am willing to try;)
  20. All the ad said was the title and 33" wide, 8" tall and 13" deep. I called and asked a couple of questions that were unanswered but I told her I would take it. Drove 1.5 hrs in heavy traffic to get it but it was totally worth it! I also told the nice lady she could sell it for quite a bit more but she was just happy I was taking it off her hands. Had to share, pretty excited! Now I need to find another pair of 63's to match;)
  21. Didn't mean to dash your hopes, just trying to be honest. I really don't know much, so take my posts with a grain of salt;) It does sound like a fun project though!
  22. The 818 had the issues but not nearly as bad as some of the other models. I bought my 818 form AFL because it was refurbished and factory tested, made me feel better about the issue. Heat is the main killer of the HDMI boards but since you are not using the amps, you should be fine.
  23. I went from a HK-3700 to a TX-NR-818. I really liked both receivers for different reasons. I think the Onkyo had more oomph buy the HK was a little more detailed. I really liked the Onkyo because of the XT32 calibration over the HK room correction. Both are great but I felt the new HK was lacking when compared to the numerous HK's I have owned in the past. With that said, the Onkyo was recently sold and I am currently looking at the Pioneer 1523-K with the D3 amps or the Emotiva Fusion 8100. I am leaning towards the Pioneer because I miss the hell out of my SC-25 and I have also heard the new Fusion has HDMI handshake issues. I know this isn't apples to apples but I hope this info helps a little. Onkyo has also had terrible HDMI issues, mine didn't, but the problem is well documented. That is the main reason I sold the 818.
  24. Not trying to be a jerk here, but.... Are there any redeeming components in a PF15? I have heard one and really didn't like its performance. How about selling the mint one and the beat one for a real sub;)
  25. Race Dude, what sub and receiver/amp are you using;)?
