And then you remember why I had a girlfriend who was beautiful, fiery and nuts. I broke up with her (because of her nasty mood swings) and she carved up my car at Newark Airport while I away and cleaned out my apartment (just backed the truck up). That was the first and last time I charged an ex-girlfriend with Grand Larceny. ---------------- Chris, She sounds like my ex-wife. She wasn't a redhead was she? Greg
  2. Jim, I am glad to hear that everything is getting better. Keep your chin up and keep smiling, things will continue to improve. Greg ps. Are you an armed security guard?
  3. Greetings Gentlemen, The core issue with all of these type of lawsuits is that people fail to assume Personal Responsibility for any of their actions. It's always someone elses fault, not their own. It just highlights the sad state of the American society today, and this concept applies to many other aspects of todays society, not just in legal matters. Regards, Greg
  4. Piece of Cake Seriously, search for HDBRbuilder's comments on building LaScala's and Khorns. It was enough to discourage me from trying to build one. Greg
  5. We were in the same boat. We had about 10 inches of rain here the first week of July, with some areas north of me getting 20". Then we went for a month of no rain at all, and now this. Greg
  6. It rained here from Friday until this morning. We have had a total of 9 inches since then. Indianapolis has 7.2 inches yesterday alone, a new record. I believe the animals were starting to gather in pairs. Greg
  7. I think that the HK 7200 would be plenty of power for the Klipsch, you would not need another amp, though it might sound better. Do you realize you are talking about $9,000 worth of HT gear not including the TV? Greg
  8. Yep, that would be his sig. congrats on the fine speakers. Greg
  9. Rob, I am at work right now, and I also do not have a digital camera. I will see if I can find some pictures to scan. In the meantime here is a link to one exactly like mine. Greg Martin Guitar
  10. Gary, It looks like the closest would be in Great Neck, NY. Greg
  11. Rob, You are right, I was mistaken. My Martin guitar has an East Indian Rosewood body, with an Ebony fretboard. It has a straighter grain than the rosewood sample, very similar to the Ebony on your speakers. They are quite beautiful by the way, I wish I had Khorns in that wood. It would probably cost a fortune to have them veneered in that though. Regards, Greg
  12. Are you sure it's ebony? It looks like the rosewood on my guitar Greg
  13. I believe retail price is $4,000 a pair. If 2002-2003 models then you would probably have to give him about what he paid for them, which might be less than retail. Greg
  14. I think he is talking about the grill cloth is tearing.
  15. Sig Sauer, There is no substitute.
  16. Oh No! Jim has Bose It doesn't surprised me, he has had every Klipsch that was ever made at least once! Regards, Greg
  17. kenratboy, Try riding that into one of the biker parties about 10 PM on a Saturday night and see what would happen. You had better be well armed
  18. It depends on where your repairs are on the speaker. if it is on the side wood dough type putty would work fine. If they are on the corners, wood dough has a tendency to chip, I have used Bondo wood repair epoxy, not the auto body type which is primarily Talc and can absorb moisture. It is a two-part expoxy which sets up very hard and strong, but it is easily sanded with 100 grit sandpaper and a sanding block. It is about $15 for two, one pint cans. As far as the repair being smoother, no mattter what you use it will have the grain of the plywood. You would have to simulate it the putty before it hardened or just live with it. Regards, Greg
  19. $800-$1,000 is probably all he will get for them.
  20. Thanks for the info Rick, They look beautiful, you did a fine job on them. You wouldn't want to come to Indiana and do my LaScala's would you? And when you are finished with that maybe do my Cornwalls? Regards, Greg
  21. Rick, How did you apply the contact cement? Did you use a brush or a roller? Greg
  22. Thanks Rick, Did you have to strip your Khorns to get a good bond with the contact cement? Did you have to do any surface preparation? My Khorns are oak oil and I have thought about veneering my LaScala's to match them, they are black lacquer. If I had to strip them it would be too much of a hassle. Greg
  23. 3dzapper, What adhesive did you use to glue the veneer down? Did you use a roller? Thanks, Greg
  24. Chad, Sure thing I'll let you know. I bet the crossovers are identical, since they are both 1977 models. Mine are type "B" with the oil caps, K77 tweeters, K55V squawkers. Greg
