  1. Let's not forget all those in Iowa who are dealing with the flooding. I think DJK is north of Cedar Rapids a little ways... at least he IS in Iowa. Haven't heard from him in a while. Bruce
  2. Vista is aweful, and will bring the best hardware to its knees. My point is only that ALL systems will fail, hardware and/or software.
  3. What is the pic of the Mac supposed to mean? Is this wehre I mention the Macs we have gotten at our school that came in DOA? I didn't think so. The only reason they don't fail as often as the myriad Windows PCs is because there aren't as many of them. []
  4. I've been listening to this LP that Invidiosulus gave me for my birthday, a previously unopened LP of Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin and Paco DeLucia. Recorded live at the Warfield Theater in SanFrancisco in 1981. These three play some very, very hot guitar, all acoustic, and put the majority of todays speed metal maniacs to shame. It makes the wannabes seem like they are palying waltzes compared to the energy on this LP. Thanks Josh, I'm enjoying it. Bruce
  5. It never bothered me...bothered me...bothered me...bothered me...
  6. The DHA2 is a wonderful crossover, and easy to build.
  7. You are a hoot! That is too funny, Maron.
  8. He changed some of the caps, swapped ICs to get the slew rate a bit faster, changed some resistors. This increased the input Z, so you could drive it with almost any tube preamp. Wish I had the money for one.Bruce
  9. You wake up sadder budweiser... []
  10. Dizrotus has done this mod, djk came up with it and has done it on more than one system..., Santa Lee built a set from scratch. I know there have been others on here but I can't remember them at the moment.
  11. The original Budweiser is made in Tchechia (How on earth do you spell that in English) and means, in German 'from Ceské Budejovice' and has the same recommended serving temperature as the US Bud. English silksmooth ales aren't that warm either, just not that cold. Now Heineken has Ice Beer, yikes! You can get it in the US. My son had some on his recent trip to Europe. They legally can't call it Budweiser there... It's called Czechvar, and blows Bud out of the water.
  12. That's my boy! [][Y][Y][Y][Y][Y]
  13. Let 'er rip! I can't hear that high anyway...[:^)]
  14. It's not like they'll quit making it, although that might not be a bad idea. They could start making it like the original in Europe. That would be a huge improvement.
  15. You would need to contact Klipsch directly, to see about what you need. Roy has been most helpful to get these into the homes of those who want them. Bruce
  16. We have been slowly rolling out SP3 on the computers at the college where I work. We have only had a problem with one PC, which was a a dual monitor setup, and one of the monitors was in portrait mode. Reinstalling the video drivers fixed this one. Almost all the PCs are Dells, the newer ones with dual core AMD procs., and have gone well (I may find my own pc dead in the morning...after saying this.) Just did the update on some IBM desktops from a lab, and all is well, but everthing on theme are fresh installs. We always blow away the factory install and push new installs, so we start with a clean slate. Of course, that means ALL the drivers for those machines get reinstalled fresh too. (System drivers, video, chipset, audio), but we roll the installs into Attachmate's Wininstall, and it usually goes pretty smoothly. Bruce
  17. Amy... find someone you trust who can be there. Remove your drive from your computer and get it added as a second drive in another PC. Copy all of your pics, documents, spreadsheets, etc. Most folks will have the extra drive space these days. If they don't want to open up their PC, buy one of the little cases to install your drive so that it can be used as an external usb drive. Then you can put it back in your PC and start over. Do what you already did to get the files back on your drive. There's a dozen ways to do this, but that is pretty safe and a more sure way you won't lose your personal files. Bruce
  18. They look a lot like Sarah, but weren't really identified other than as the twins. I was just looking on the Heil website and saw the pics.Found this cool bit on the company website:\ "As the 80's drew near, Heil Sound entered the amateur radio market to fix a problem that rotted the very core of Bob's most beloved hobby - poor transmitted and received audio. So, Bob applied the science of audio that he learned from the likes of Paul Klipsch, Don Leslie, Martin Wick and studying the Bell Labs Fletcher Munson curves. He developed his HC series microphones which brought maximum articulation to amateur radio communication. The goal of Heil Sound is still; to hear the world better and to improve communication." Bruce
  19. I would think the solid blocks of Rosewood would be a bit pricey. Even Indian Rosewood. Brazilian would be hard to get.Bruce
  20. Thebes...do you know who these twins are, pictured with Sarah Heil? Sarah is the wife of audio pioneer Bob Heil.
  21. Not really true. My insurance provides an EOB on every claim, telling me what they pay. Not what they want me to think they pay.I couldn't begin to put enough money in an HSA to cover a catastrophic illness or injury. Maybe only high priced attorneys can do that. [] BTW, do you chase abulances? Bruce
  22. Check out the FUG (Frazier Users Group) pages in two channel: http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/102079.aspx
  23. The video on the T-rex website is really cool... and funny. However, at $50k I would take a pass. Bruce
  24. That's in Australian dollars, , so it's still $111.60+ in USD. The exchange rate is killing anyone buying overseas.
  25. Thanks Bob! I think we can deal with that ok. [Y] Bruce
