Usually, the decorator models had a flat front, and not recessed to fit the grill. In a sense, all the Birch Raw models are decorators, because they owuld be finished by the buyer to suit their own finish preference. They are nice looking. I can't believe someone has some KCBR for a BIN of $2999. That is way too high. Nice shape, but I would want to put a veneer on them and pretty them up more. And my LaScalas sound great with the Moondogs. I only use for two channel music, and feel absolutley no need for a sub. I don't even have the LS in corners right now. either. Khorns would be even better, but I am very pleased with my system.

TheTangent 400 uses the same parts as the Heresy II and uses the same crossover as the HII. K-76 tweeter, K-53 mid and K-24 woofer. You could build a horizontal Tangent 400 cab as a center. 38-20K ±3db Bruce

She is 15. I've only heard her do a duet with her dad, on a song released into the country music market. If she doesn't screw up her life, she will continue to do quite well.

By laminate, are you meaning something like melamine or formica? If so, that wasn't done by Klipsch, so that could be replaced. We were all thinking the plywood laminations (I think). If the cabs are structurally sound, dings can be filled and they can just be painted. $400 or less would be good... A new woofer would run about $100. You can order those from Bob Crites (BEC on the forum) and he can give you prices on recapping and cleaning up the crossovers, diaphragms, etc.

Where do you live in OZ?That should be a K-76 tweeter, not K-75 (I think). The K-55-V midrange is a physically larger, more powerful driver (also used on Khorn, La Scala, Cornwall. etc) than the K-53-K. My personal opinion is that the K-55 is way too forward and that the HII is overall a smoother sounding speaker. I've had both in the house, just my opinion, blah, blah... [:^)] Bruce

Dave, Earth and All Stars - I normally don't like the sound of the recorded music on Pipe Dreams, as there always is too much 'room' for my tastes. It never feels like I am in the space, so it just comes across as too reverberant. However, what you caught in this recording makes me feel as if I am in the room. The space of the 'delicious acoustics' doesn't overwhelm the sound of the organ itself. I would say that you succeeded very well, especially as you had your traveling rig with you. Nice composition, too. Mozart - nice job of close mic'ing to clean up the audio while still retaining some room sound. Seems a little more mid-range sounding than the other two pieces, but I will visit this again on the other system to see. Andante u poco Adagio - Very nice. The clarinet is dry and 'right there', but I like it. The piano is close enough that the notes don't get blurred in the acoustic space of the fire station. Pleasant to listen to. I might (personally) have the clarinet a tad bit lower, but the tonality it great. Certainly doesn't sound abyssmal, so I would say you succeeded on this on as well. Just goes to show what lengths someone must go to to record on location. The simpler the better. I give a thumbs up on all these... thanks again for sharing them (hope I don't just sound like I'm gushing over these, I really like them). Bruce

I would go for without a second thought. The POD is going to work with the power amp just fine. You are right that the POD will shape the guitar signal, and feed it as a line level signal to your power amp. Not reallly much different than feeding a PA through a direct box and mixer to a PA. I've done the same with a Rocktron Distortion Generator into some JBL monitors (w/6 inch woofers), and my lap steel sounded pretty rockin. The performance was another story. []

Mine are 2 11/16" to the bottom of the flange cutout.

I would guess that depends on the display. LCDs don't have a gas in them, and many LCDs are shipped flat. Much better than when they come folded.

Max, s/pdif is the digital out... like you can feed into certain receivers, etc. It stands for Sony/Philips Digital Interface. It is a stereo digital connection, and can be optical or coaxial.

Yes it will work, and you will get the guitar eq and various tones out of the pod. Most pickups have no high end, so plugged into regular stereos, sound very rolled off. Guitar amps have quite a lot of high end boost to get the treble back. Most passive pickups have less that one volt output, bass pickups can be higher. (Advents would die a quick and well deserved death)

OB, that isn't really true. My HIIs also rock with SS.

Gary, I was joking, but it seems to be picking up speed a little bit. What is the number of new Khorns sold in a year? If I had the chance and a choice, I would pick the Jubilee. My corners aren't good for the Khorn.

Did you really have to use a router or could you have mounted the horn without the driver and put the driver on through the woofer mounting hole? I really can't imagine they would expect you to do modify the cabinet to install the upgrade. Are you keeping the rest of the HII guts or selling them? Bruce

Travis, COngrats! Great you could work it out. They will be beautiful, I am sure. The oil finish will really bring out whatever grain pattern there is with the sapele. Glad to hear someone is going to paint the horns another color. Makes the Oris horns beautiful... I'm sure it will work for yours. Bruce

You could use the HII parts to make a Tangent 400. A larger cabinet (mostly taller) with ports, that will give you better bass than the Heresy or Heresy II. Simple cabinet build.
