99% of my use for this reciever has been for movies and yes it performs more than adequate. In regards to the power. It's often been noted that while most other manufactures beef up their power ratings, HK often under rates theirs and when actually measured they usually out perform the manufacturer rating..

75 watts. I've only heard one Yammy in my life, RX-V2700 which had much more power. Not enough time to base an opinion so I will let others weigh in if they would like

It does have Pre-outs. The surround backs unfortunately can only be used as such. Or as Zone 2 I believe but not height or wide.

Not sure yet. It definitely sounds completely different than the AVR354. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing yet. I think I'm going to buy a Marantz SR5009 to compare and keep the one I like best.

Bought a new Harman Kardon AVR2700. For $269.99 shipped from Newegg I figured I had nothing to lose. Replaced a H/K AVR354

The flaw is located just north of XBOX in the pictures

SOLD!!! I recently bought a new receiver and now have no use for this unit. This was Harman's flagship in 2008. http://hometheaterreview.com/harman-kardon-avr-354-av-receiver-reviewed/ I bought this item refurbished and still have the box it was shipped in for safe transportation. The unit is fully functional and comes with all original accessories. Cosmetically the unit is in good shape. The one flaw that needs mentioned is on the front display panel. My wife when cleaning the unit used a scotchbrite pad to clean a toddlers fingerprints on a small portion of the display screen(Yep I wasn't happy). This made a quarter size flaw in the tint of the display and is only noticeable in certain lighting. I will do my best to capture when taking pictures this evening to display. I will post pictures of the unit this evening. PM for questions. Paypal or local pickup.

Nice unit, I've been looking at Marantz AVRs for a long time now and keep resisting the temptation. I'm secretly hoping my H/K takes a dump so that I can more easily justify the purchase. GLWS!

Based on my calculations, this box is tuned to 45 Hz and -3db at 37Hz with the Ultimax 12. There is a +8.5db peak at 50Hz. All this is based on net internal volume of 1.84 cu ft and a pair of Dayton 12" passives with no added weight. If there were a single passive, the box would be tuned to 34Hz and -3db at 31Hz with this driver. edit: I want to add one other thing to the data. The Passive radiator is -3db at 25 Hz with two passives, and would be -3db at 24Hz with a single passive. I have no idea what all this means to the sound, but if you have a pair of passives spitting out 25 Hz with a nice little peek at 35Hz, it seems like it might actually measure well... If there is anybody that can take this on, the numbers are all above. You could build one these for ~$400. Very very easy to do as well.
