I think the Tangent 5000 are killer, and the Tangent 500 appear to be very similar. I would give them a listen, perhaps make an offer below 500. Sound wise, they are definitely worth it.

Is there ferrofluid in these tweeters? It can get thick and muck up the coil if it dries over time. Perhaps it needs to be replaced? Not sure, just an idea.

I'm out too!

Apparently this is an auction? PM'd with offer, wasn't enough. Asked what was enough, he doesn't know. If you have a price in mind, please post it.

Marantz 1060 vs Luxman R-115 for Chorus II?
absolve2525 replied to Maximus89's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
I have an R115 that sounds excellent and plays plenty loud. If you can't find a 117, or don't want to spend the $$, I think a 115 would do nicely. -
Isn't K48 used in the Chorus? Does it have the right specs for horn loading? Sorry to thread crap.
-
What happened to it? Sometimes they can be repaired.

Aftermarket copies of the ten inch Klipsch woofers
absolve2525 replied to Binkstir's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Those look nice! Haven't heard of them, but it's cool to see new options available. -
Cool and cheap adapters! I ordered a pair to have around.

I just got off the phone with Klipsch, before seeing your post. Yeah, same price quite here. Oh well! I'd like to hear how the recone goes for you. Goodluck!
-
Yeah, let us know. I tried calling Klipsch the other day, but their system was down for maintenance.
-
Maybe try with the parts number that Monkeybuddy used? I was actually going to buy a pair for the price he mentioned, but I haven't contacted Klipsch. Perhaps the price changed? Anyhow, hopefully you snag some for a good price.
-
FYI you can order these from Klipsch directly, 90 bucks/pair. There's a thread in the forums.

Marantz 1060 vs Luxman R-115 for Chorus II?

What parts are unavailable? That's the first time I've heard that. -
Simple question: what is the next step up from Chorus II?
absolve2525 replied to vasubandu's topic in General Klipsch Info
I preferred Chorus 2 over CF4. Never heard KLF 30s. -

I'll have to order a pair for my Chorus 2 also! Looking forward to your update after they arrive. -
Can anyone tell me about AL 2 Crossovers?
absolve2525 replied to absolve2525's topic in Technical/Restorations
I was trying to get a grasp of the differences between the crossover types and what is suitable for a Khorn vs LaScala. AL2 vs AK2 vs AA. You can use an AA in either, right? I figured you could do the same with the others. If there is special contouring involved for respective model, then that makes sense. Thanks! -
Can anyone tell me about AL 2 Crossovers?

I understand that the woofer bass bin contains the woofer crossover. I had to bypass it in order to use Crites A/4500 crossovers. Thanks -
Can anyone tell me about AL 2 Crossovers?
absolve2525 replied to absolve2525's topic in Technical/Restorations
Thanks for the info! Strangely, these came with round magnet alnico K77 and K55V not M. Apparently, some blown parts were replaced at some point. One midrange is solder-type, the other is push-type. I was able to find replacements on here from another member, so I will have alnico K77 and a pair of solder type midrange drivers. Would AA be a better match for these drivers? My 89 Khorns came with EV "M" drivers, and AK 2 crossovers. If I swapped out the AK2 for AL 2, what should I expect? Thanks! -
Can anyone tell me about AL 2 Crossovers?

I measured their capacitance. I would just replace them anyhow, I have new caps on hand. Anyway... -
I recently picked up a pair of Lascalas with these crossovers. Stamp dated 1988 underneath. I tested the electrolytic caps, and they measure fine. I was looking at the crossover diagrams on the main page, and these appear to be the same as AK3 but without a protection diode on the tweeter? If so, they should sound pretty good? Im still trying to figure out how all of these crossovers compare. Are AL crossovers interchangeable with AK crossovers? I have 89 KHorns that came with AK2. Those are split, with woofer crossover parts in the KHorn bass bin. I bought Crites AK 4500 for those, but picked up some AA with oil caps last last year too. It's my understanding that the AK2 cut the midrange more to accommodate the EV K55m. Which drivers were standard for use with the AL2? Thanks guys!

Need a single of each. Round magnet K77, and a soldered wire K55V. Thanks
