  1. He's down to $150... http://greenville.craigslist.org/ele/4638821602.html
  2. I love the "details" that LS can so transparently portray. From Jack Reacher to Thor to even cable TV through system, nothing is missed.

The front sound stage. Forgive the wires - still working on hiding all of them.
  4. LeBron proved he could win championships outside of Cleveland... (since Lebron left Cleveland 4 years ago, Cleveland has had the WORST winning percentage in the NBA). Yes, Lebron met with Dan Gilbert (owner of the Cavaliers) and ultimately said, "We all make mistakes, who am I to judge?" NBA hardcore fans will remember "the letter" that Dan Gilbert wrote 4 years ago...in which Gilbert guaranteed that Cleveland would win a championship before Lebron would...fail by Gilbert. That being said, I was glad to see that LeBron released his decision on a thought out "essay" rather than a live press conference. Whether you love or hate LeBron, look at "The Decision" 4 years ago and then compare it to his decision to go back to Cleveland. In 4 years, he has matured and realized that the game of basketball is bigger than himself. Just my 2 cents. Edit - now Lebron and Johnny Football can party the city of Cleveland to the ground, lol.
  5. I just need to invest in a nice humidor...heck, the closet these humidors sit in is made out of cedar already. EDIT: My favorite cigars being the Liga Privada T52 and Undercrown, along with the Arturo Fuente Don Carlos or Sun Grown. I'll take a slight detour from Scotch and say that Bourbon is my drink of choice. I love a Taylor's Small Batch or Eagle Rare.
  6. http://stereointegrity.com/index.php?id=57 Not sure if you mind waiting a few weeks or not, but if you pre-order the SI 18, it's 162+shipping...hard to beat that. Even with shipping, you'll likely beat the Dayton's price by $50 or more. Just throwing that out there.
  7. Down to $670...... http://asheville.craigslist.org/ele/4539067851.html EDIT: Not sure these are the same ones this thread is referring to. My mistake...dang it.
  8. Those look great! Definitely makes me want to turn my La Scalas into Jubscalas or just sell the LS and get the 904s.

  10. I got married on Friday the 13th in November 2009. Didn't work out so well; got divorced a few years later.
  11. If i read your dimensions correctly, one of these could fit on each side of your center LS. Definitely more detailed to build than a F20, but you gain a few Hz in extension too. http://www.avsforum.com/t/1451519/lilmikes-lilwrecker
  12. Dude, you're the man!!! Planking and bearding??? I hope you keep the beard through the summer as well (from a fellow beard lover) instead of dropping it to only re-appear during No-shave November.
  13. I echo Scrappy here...somewhere on the AVS Forum, there seems to be a resurgence of the SI 18s. I've got 2 Daytons and have definitely put them through their paces. The UM-18 by Dayton keeps getting delayed. It was originally slated for January and now has been moved to June. +1 for going with the 24s - but you better have some amp power (and electrical circuitry) to really get the most out of them. I can't remember where on AVS I read this, but someone threw a bridged EP4000 at a 24 and it wasn't near enough to get the most out of it.
  14. http://www.avsforum.com/t/1283375/home-theater-demo-disc-version-2-0 Go to post #8, hit the link for Version 2. When the link pops up, download the file (it's like 277kb) and then if you know how Torrent (I use uTorrent), you can download a huge load of Blu Ray demo material. The Blu Ray Demo material is about 50 gigs and some great quality stuff. Here is a link to the contents of the Blu Ray stuff you download. You can create a disk if you want or if your PC or external hard drive is hooked up to your system, you can point and click...helps cut down loading and unloading multiple disks just to show off one facet of the system. http://www.demo-world.eu/demo-dvds/home-theater-demonstration-blu-ray-v2.php
  15. As someone who has had the opportunity to listen to a MartySub and a 4.0 cu. ft. 18" sealed sub, can you provide a more detailed subjective comparison? I can see from the graphs that the MartySub is louder, but beyond that, does one sub sound different and/or better than the other? The sealed sub has the advantage of being a simpler build, and it's smaller/lighter, but beyond those two obvious advantages, do you see any other factors in the sealed sub's favor? I don't have any measuring equipment (yet) to take graphs, so it'll just be what I can tell. The sealed sub definitely gives greater extension. Based on reading the MartySub thread a crapload of times, I shot for a tuning closer to 15Hz rather than 17 (+/-). From the 15Hz on up, it's no comparison - Marty all the way. Below 15, it becomes a much closer comparison. Running a 15Hz wave through the Marty causes something in the room to shake in a way that sounds like drywall slapping against studs...it's downright impressive - something the single sealed could never do. If you sit right in front of the sub when the 15Hz wave goes through, you can feel air moving - I never felt that with the sealed. To me, the sound from the sealed and ported were very similar. The ported sounded "closer" if that makes sense, but overall, I can't say that one sounded better or worse than the other. From the back of the room, the Marty definitely still had more presence than the single sealed. All of this listening was done with an EP4000 bridged with the gain nob turned towards 3:00. Just for the heck of it, I hooked up both the Marty and sealed to the EP bridged and turned the gain all the way up. Talk about the best of both worlds...I have kept it that way. Regardless, I can definitely say that I never plan on buying another sub. DIY all the way. What about duel Marty and duel sealed in the same room? That's exactly what I plan on doing. Not sure when I'll get to it, but that's the plan.

  17. I just finished building a full sized Marty. My room is 12X30 and it definitely helped give more bass. The punch is there. Mine is good to about 15ish Hz.
  18. Just finished building a MartySub myself to compare to my single sealed Dayton. I have a solid amount of room gain, so the sealed does pretty well. From 15Hz on up, it's pretty clear - MartySub with the Dayton wins over the single sealed. I've run them both at the same time and get the ridiculous output of a Marty with the extension of a sealed. Running them both brings a whole new smile to my face. However, running sealed and ported at the same time is a whole different can of worms.
  19. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/search.php?s=inuke&Go=Search Hard to beat some of those deals they are throwing on Inukes right now...
  20. i have read issues with the 15 ultra so not sure about the 18. If let that one go for a while. Let other test drive the hell out of it first. +1. I know Dayton has pushed back the release date for the UM18 at least once, but maybe twice due to structural issues of some sort with the UM18. I picked up another Dayton HO and am gonna wait to see how the UM gets tested by others before I go with that or a couple more HOs to round out my foursome.
  21. It works fantastic! I love having LS all across the front.
