  1. Im glad Each component has a shelf to itself for the time being.. Next as for upgrades I think I want to get a dedicated cd player and i should have satelite soon. I may just put the satelite reciever under the tv but I would like to keep things in one spot for less wires moving around.. So the Sat reciever will probaly go above the VCR and the CD player with the DVD since they dont need to much cooling.. Reciever stays on top by itself ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 2. HAHHHAHAHAHA Yeah the mugs move from time to time. Thanks for the positve comments.. I couldnt of done it without the great group of people we have on this board. I didnt know all too much about Home Theater before I came here. I knew a ton about stereos in general and car audio so I caught on fast but slapping together a home theater and doing it right are 2 totally diffrent things. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 3. Heres the rear wall where the wires come out and go into my Quintets. Heres the wires behind the reciever.. Its about as neat as I could get it. This is just a rear shot by my bed so you can see both rear channels. Hope you guys enjoyed the pics and id love to hear your comments or suggestions. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 4. Well I finally got a chance to take some pictures of my Home Theater setup. This is my first crack at a home theater but from hangin around here and reading magazines I have learned a lot and for the budget Im on for a 23 year old student I think I did pretty good. It sounds Awesome. I took lots of time to setup the angles and positioning of the speakers and sub, As well as the time to wire everything nice and neat and use loom to cover wires on the floor. For wires I chose acoustic research they seemed to be a decent wire for the money. I also used bannana clips on all the connectors to the reciever and speakers. Heres a List of the parts and the pictures Enjoy. This shot just shows a picture across the front. The TV is centered in the middle. The Speakers are SB3's on 21' Wood Tech Oak Stands with rubber isolations pads on top and metal spikes on bottom. My Rack is a TECH Craft TC-WF45B from there wing series. Heres a list of the components. HK AVR510 reciever, Sony NS400D DVD, RCA HT VCR ( dont remember the model ) X-Box , and on the bottom are my DVD's a KLIPSCH Mug, and a Dolby Digital equiped HT plaque. This is where my wires enter the wall to goto the rear channels. Another Front Shot here you see my crappy tv which I will be replacing with a 27' wega or equivilent flat screen. Here you can see the KSW-12 and my SC-1 center. The TV Stand is a Tech Craft unit as well. This message has been edited by QUiKSR20 on 09-13-2002 at 09:03 AM

    Monsters, Inc.

Monsters Inc Kicked *** for the type of movie it was. I thought it was really good and packed alot of adult humor. 7. I currently run the HK AVR-510 and while it doesnt have Dolby Pro Logic II it does have Logic 7 which is a form of pro logic II its takes stereo material and makes it more seperated like 5.1 I hear it even sounds better that PL II its made by Lexicon I think. All in all I think youll be happy with the 510.. I just bought mine 6 months ago. I wanted the 520 but couldnt afford it and I picked up the 510 factory refurb'd for $420 I couldnt go wrong. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 8. cool.. It does sound really goood with just stereo tv movies and shows... Thanx for the info Justin. Is that Logic 7's purpose to make regular stereo tv broadcasts have a somewhat 5.1 feel to it.. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 9. Is HK's Logic 7 basically there version of Pro Logic II? Im pretty sure it is but not 100% with this setting activated. Regular TV Viewing sounds awesome for what it is.. 11. I have always heard synergy series owners have complained for not being able to use banana's on them. Mine seem to take banana's quite fine.. All my speakers are setup usuing banana clips.. Is there something im missing? you just pop out the center caps from the factory and then push the banana in just as you would with any other speaker on the market. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 12. I have a AVR-510 the last year model of the 520 and I think it sounds great with my klipsch's. Not that I have a killer setup or anything but it definatly sounds way better than the previous sony reciever i had which was a 2002 model $500 unit. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 19. How are Technics Turntables as far as Vinyl playing and Home audio goes? My friend swears by them But he's a big time hip hop / dance DJ. I really dont know much at all about vinyl tubes etc . 20. How you doing Gkantor. I am also younger not in college but 23 and have SB-3's and a KSW12.. These guys on the boards have kickass systems and mines always changing and I cant wait to get some better stuff. Thats the story of my life so far lol.. Anyway. For under $500 or so hmm gonna be tricky. Stay away from Sony or entry level brands as your Klipsch's will show there flaws. Heres a few of my favorite picks for under or around $500 Denon AVR-1802 Harman Kardon AVR-320 NAD T751 Outlaw 1050. Outlaws are unbeatable 6.1 recievers for the money. http://www.outlawaudio.com People here have much success with them. Check out ebay for awesome deals on these recievers that will be much cheaper than retail. I got my HK Reciever for $410 shipped which is a steal it retails for $899 You definatley want to go with a half decent amp for Klipsch speakers because they are so efficeint they will show the flaws. Dont worry about so much the watts ratings with these recievers. They are high end watts and usually much better than the watts listed by lower brands like sony pioneer etc, Since Klipschs are very efficient they dont need much wattage to reach ear bleeding levels. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 22. Thanks BOA.. I really would like to figure this out next week maybe if I get that reciever and go rent a 6.1 DVD and see how it sounds yeah your right I think I would have to run it from the analog outs on the DVD and not the first reciever because the first reciever cant decode 6.1 to begin with right? ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 23. I own the AVR 510 which is a 5.1 reciever. Now heres my question.. I heard talk awhile back about makeing 6.1 out of a 5.1 reciever with an old pro-logic reciever. How is this done. Do you run the rear preamp outputs to say any input on the prologic reciever and set it to dolby pro logic and let it decode the signal from the rear pre outs? I would love to figure this out since I have a chance to pick up an older pro logic HK receiver. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 24. Synergy 6 will be very loud providing you get a decent reciever. Klipsch speakers are very efficient. First thing before we can really help you. You must let us know what your budget is for this. And then we can go from there. Without that its hard to recomend something. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P. 25. Im sure they can be.. As in its possable. But they are not amplified like a ProMedia and you would also have to have wiring made to go from the speakers to your sound card.. Probaly not the greatest idea or if you had an old reciever hanging around you could use that with the Quintets and a receiver and that would work perfect. ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page HK AVR-510 Reciever Sony DVP-NS400D DVD SB-3 Mains SC-1 Center Quintet Rears KSW-12 Sub AR Proseries Interconects R.I.P.
