  1. I have a pair of Klipsch 3002s, and a pair of Heresy Industrial HIPs... I have a chance to pick up another pair of 3002s. Should I sell my HIPs and get a second pair of 3002s or should I just stick with what I have? They will be for height and rear surrounds.
  2. In my last house that is the way I cooled my equipment room... I also used a thermostat control for it. I can't remember where I got it but it had a rotary dial on it and I just dialed it in to the temp i wanted. It mounted in a conventional wall switch box too.
  3. I think he sold them... The ad has been removed.
  4. That guy has had those up for sale for $1250 for months. I bought mine for $500 in about the same condition in the Bay area.

  7. Well they're def not mine... I was just posting what I saw on CL.
  8. I know nothing about this stuff so I should stay out of it, but if I am close maybe Thaddeus can explain or someone else. But if you are going to build your own hard drive couldn't you have a proprietary(<-that might not be the right word I want to use) drive let say 3-4 tb, then just add 2-3 tb external drives as needed, think there is some sort of Raid that you can use to mirror what is on the smaller drives in the event that one crashes will mirror them on the proprietary(<-again may not be the right word) drive for back up. I have only read bits and pieces of this thread so I don't understand your reason for the 2 extra external hard drives. If I am way off just yell at me to go away, You can mirror a drive but you would need to re-install windows witch is not a huge deal. The extra hard drives are for increasing storage capacity. RAID is a good option but not needed, i like RAID 5 myself but you need at least 3 drives. I use UnRaid... I like the fact that I can use any HDD I have laying around to build a system, and the only requirement is that the Parity drive must be at least as big as the largest drive you have in the setup.
  9. You could always tell him that there was an identical pair up for sale a couple of months ago for $900 and you will pay him that amount max.

  11. If they were local to me I would grab them up!
  12. I returned his email saying I was not willing to pay more than $500 for a pair in that condition and wished him luck in selling them.
  13. Here is the pic he sent me... Crossovers are AL Looks to me like either water damage or someone sanded the veneer off... I would offer $500. Here is the video of the speaker... looks better here.

  15. I know what ya mean sorta... I went out on Disability in June of 2011 and fought over and over and finally lost the case in 2012. We re filed the whole bit with more evidence and we won in November 2013... First check was in January 2014. The stress level of the last few years has been through the roof.
  16. You might have a Trojan Horse or a worm on your PC. One tip i was told years ago is to make up a fake email address that will come up to the top of your email contacts list... ie 0@myspam.com. By doing this with a fake email address the virus will not be able to send out anything to anyone you know as it won't get past the first one. Now maybe the viruses have gotten smarter and skip it I don't know, but it has worked for me.
  17. My simple answer to the thread title is... Only if you want to go lower than your current speakers will go. In my situation yes a sub is required as I want to go to 10-15hz.
  18. I don't use the Rasberry but I know others use it for streaming 1080p videos to their NAS. I use a i3NUC to stream mine from the NAS with OpenELEC/XBMC for the media player software on one of my NUCs and Windows 7 with Windows Media Center and JRiver for the software on that one..
  19. Other than my Klipsch La Scalas... My favorite speaker I owned was the Martin Logan sequel IIs, they required some power but they sounded awesome IMO.
  20. How about a Rasberry... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813142001
  21. I am almost tempted to pick up a pair and sell my HIPs... Then I would have 4 for my HT needs.
  22. I found my original email to the guy from November... This is the link. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ele/4164899968.html There used to be a way to dig up old postings with google that had been removed but I don't see the option anymore.
  23. It is very strange as they were up for like a month at $900, and then they were gone. I wish there was a way to bring up the old one and check. The old ad also said original owner as I recall.
