  1. They are YOUR speakers, do with them as you please. I have actually sen several pairs finished in Natural Birch and they looked great. As to the 55M, the year is right for that particular driver. As to whether it was used in this particular Industrial speaker, I can not say. I would venture a guess, as to YES, it is Factory installed.
  2. Picky, It is important to keep it on the Active Threads list, on the Homepage for the Forums. It is only stuck to the top of the Two Channel section of the Forums. I usually go to the Homepage to see what is ACTIVE at the moment. Hope that made some sense...... W. C.
  3. Scrappy, If you are looking for a Pre/Pro to go with seperate amps, the 5508 is one of the best ones out there, at any price. It has a feature list and build quality that will rival ANY processor on the market. There are several very good Pre/Pro's out there but for the money and quality, the Onkyo is very very hard to beat. It has seven HDMI IN and two OUT (a feature that I was particularily looking for), 9.2 pre-outs and weighs in at 31 pounds. That's a lot of weight for having NO amplifiers in it. I spent the better part of six months researching Pre/Pro's and finally made the decision to purchase the 5508, a couple of months ago. I have never looked back...! It replaced a Sany STR DA5300ES, if that tells you anything, as the Sony is a great AVR. Since I got the new 70" Sharp, the Sony will find duty in another system. The audio side is better than the Sony and the Video is superb. It also has the latest version of Audyssey Multi EQ XT32 I could go on with this list for a couple of pages. It is driving five Quicksilver Monobloc tube amps and two SAE SS amps. I just can not find any cons orflaws with it. I am very pleased with mine.
  4. WUZ, I got the 632, under 1700 delivered and I am very happy. This sucker is really BIG...that is all my friend could say...."The picture is huge"...If you take the time to truly adjust it, to you particular conditions, for me it is perfect. I can not got over the picture quality difference over the Sony. I think the 732 has the addition of yellow pixels and the reviews I read about the edge lighting are about 50/50. What I have seen con wise looks like true nitpicking. I have not seen any actual negatives about either model other some complaints about the high cost from some outlets. The picture is as close to 3D, without wearing glasses, as I have ever seen.....The depth of field is much better than the Sony and it almost looks like "Live" video. It is truly remarkable....Guess you can tell I am very pleased. It will probably launch itself to the Moon next week, but it will have been a great ride...! W. C.
  5. I purchased a 70" Sharp, New, not factory refurbished, from BuySquad.com, on April 30, 2012. After much communication back and forth, tracking numbers, delayed shipping, then damage in transit, I was scared to death. After the damage was discovered somewhere just west of the Mississippi, I was notified that a new one would be Express shipped out on Thursday, March 12. The TV arrived by "Private Carrier” (Guy in a closed in Van) on the following Tuesday. Actually pretty quick delivery from Washington State to Charlotte, NC. When it was delivered, WE (truck driver, a friend and I) unpacked it and plugged it in to see if it fired up; Yes, ALL appeared to be fine, after much worry. Driver was released with his signed delivery ticket and I finally got around to setting it up today. This TV is replacing a 46" Sony, which is going to another location here in the warehouse. I must say, after all of the worry and hassle (actually, the Buy Squad was very communicative and re-assuring), even though I felt sure that I was being scammed, because "They just could not sell a new TV that cheap delivered”, the TV is Flawless. I have spent the better part of today, fooling around with adjustments and have finally got it dialed, in like I want it. The clarity is amazing, almost 3D in it’s depth of field and the basic color, tint, contrast and brightness controls were a breeze to adjust. There are many more options on this TV than I will ever use, as I am playing it as the main viewing screen in my HT, using HDMI and I am SOOOO pleased, I am beside myself. The 70” diagonal is a pretty large screen and this thing is just a Joy to watch. I can not recommend this TV high enough, as it fits my every need, at the present. I am sure that next year they will come out with a 120” that has more Bells and Whistles, but this will at least last me for a few years. If you get a chance, please audition one, you will not be sorry. BTW – 70” is a pretty BIG screen.
  6. Dave, I am sure that you have seen this Huff Post: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/20/james-cameron-google-space-exploration-larry-page-eric-schmidt_n_1442153.html?icid=maing-grid10%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl1%7Csec3_lnk1%26pLid%3D153976
  7. Dean, Yea, the Frog choked the Bird to death then Pi$$ed on him....! []
  8. Javelin, When you get to the point of having to make a decision to buy that next GREAT DEAL on speakers or FOOD.....You will understand the obsession. The Speakers will usually win because you can always Dumpster Dive for food.....
  9. Ridley...Yeager's Sidekick.....Great Stuff and he Narrated it also......
  10. Dave, I don't believe that I led anyone to the asumption, nor have I ever suggested, that I was some type of World Expert, in/on the subject at hand. You are right, but debating with you guys becomes very tiring, much too quickly, as you frame it in a situation that ANY answer that I give will be up for some kind of lengthy debate. This is certainly NOT my type of discussion and I leave it to the two of you. I have only spoken from first hand experience, in a subject that I am very familiar with, if that doesn't count for anything....fine and that is all there is to it. YMMV....... Really....ALL I ever wanted was a CD of some Organ music.......[:^)]
  11. Dave, I find that comment just a little Pissy....You please feel free to carry on this conversation with Maron...I will gracefully bow out and I certainly do not feel that it waa justified and if it was in fun...IT didn't hit the Mark at all. You guys please have fun solving the Worlds Energy shortcomings............
  12. Dave, The Regulator regulates the Gas Flow and Pressure, which is usually very low, like 3 pounds. What ZAK is referring to is a common problem, along with a few others. I have worked for two separate Municipalities since 1995, that have spent mega bucks implementing these LP/NG fueled vehicles. There are many problems that will never see the light of day, due to Political ties to Federal Funding and such. Just remember, IF this IS/WAS such a great saver of Taxpayer Money. WHY has it NOT been developed further? Again, this technology has been around over thirty years.... There are a lot of smaller building generator systems that run on NG and do so successfully, as long as the "More Than Normal" maintenance is kept up. They use NG because it is convenient to the property and they do not have to deal with UG Storage Tanks...can you say UST Permits....Again, the information is out there, you just have to dig past the first page of the Goggle return. PLEASE NEVER use WIKI as a reference.......I stand behind everything I have posted and I have First Hand Knowledge of these Programs. W. C.
  13. Dave, You definitely should look into a Lightning Arrestor for your main Service Panel. It is NOT that expensive and will give you added security over your Earth Grounded Service and the Oak tree. It will attach between the service conductors and the ground wire in yor service panel. Yes.....Keep the Oak as it clearly has served you well, in the past.
  14. Dean, You will get through this with Flying Colors because you WILL:
  15. Michael, Unfortunatly, the Manual assumes that the speaker purchaser has some semblence of knowledge, on how a speaker system operates. Very simple, if you Bi-Amp/Bi-Wire: You remove the Bridge, one amp or set of wires (Bi-Wiring) is terminated on the Upper Terminals (HF = High Frequency = Mid Range and tweeter) - The other amp or set of speaker wires are terminated on the lower set of terminals (LF = Low frequency = Woofer). If you are NOT Bi-Amping or Bi-Wiring the Bridge/Straps must be in place for the speaker to operate properly.
  16. Your very poor judgement of character shows with evey post that you make, on these Forums...For one thing, you do not know me at all. This statement is SO far from the truth, it is not funny. It is truly your "Down YOUR nose" attitude that gives you the presence of a jerk and I don't need to go read anything to say that. Also, I am not into bikes....
  17. Dave, Please don't get me wrong...YES, NG is cheaper at the pump...It is the "Back Door" cost that get you. Any municipality that is pushing NG is doing it for Political reasons. Again, the total cost to try and implement a nationwide system is phenominal. This is not coming from me, it is from thirty years of research into this idea. Think about it, if NG was so great, why does the Bus system ONLY have ONE bus that is using it. It goes along the same lines as Bio Diesel, it looks great on paper, but the cost of gathering the raw cooking, waste oil etc.for production, and to meet the EPA standards are very cost prohibitive. Maron, Please let me somewhat apologize, as the RICH thing does not cut it for me......I am very glad that YOU are doing SO well...some of us may have to actually work for wealth....you seem to be spoon fed.....Please prove me wrong....
  18. Maron, I realize that you are just trying to Egg Dave on, but I can assure you that NO ONE really gives a Sh!T how wealthy you are. I don't even to profess that I know you and you come off as an abrassive jerk........ This thread is becomming a total waste of time, as the intelligence got lost in the blowing egos, sometime back.
  19. Dave, Your one huindred mile spaced stations is a great idea in Theory. With just a little research, you will find that the natural gas thing has been tried many thousands of times, to be implemented throughout the country, in the last 30 years. One of the main problems is conversion of existing vehicles, as the cost is SO high that it is NOT practicle. The other major issues is; While NG/Propane is a wonderful idea, the maintamnance of the engines is astronomical. While it certainly burns cleaner, the lubrication of those clean parts goes out the window. For some reason steel needs that the black, loaded with polutant filled OIL, for operation. For some reason the CLEAN BURNING strips all lubrication out of the engine, on a regular basis. If you do not believe me, ask ANY owner of Propane operated warehouse, government regulated, forklifts. Again, GREAT idea in theory, practical application really sucks....! I have worked for municipalities for the past 20 or so years and we have tried every way known to man, to implement these ideas, with Federal funding, that has proved to be complete miserable Failures. Until someone comes up with a clean burning fuel that does NOT harm the engine that is burning it, we are a very long way from your 100 mile stations....sorry but PLEASE do the research before you go into these Forays....
  20. One of the BEST guys in the business is sadly gone...................May you find a new string on your Mandolin in Heaven, cause you could certainly PLAY it.....One of the best Tempo Drummers of ALL time....you will live on, in your past work and inspiration to others, who will follow....!
  21. You just HAD to post the link...didn't you? and...Why OH Why did I click on it....? I dare say it is a "woman" looks like a truck stop and I am NOW curious about the "Black" thing in the lower left. Is there some "Back Story" on this photo? and...YES, IT is a very strange looking creature
  22. Moray, You must get the picture to below 250K to load it in a post. Load the picture in Windows Paint or any simular picture program. On Paint choose Image in the top bar, then choose Stretch/Slew. Reduce it to 40% and save. Right click on the saved image and it will give you the new JPG file size. If necessary, keep reducing the percentage until you get below 250K. It is really very simple. If you are using a Windows Machine, all you have to do is right click on the file and pick what to open it with It will gibe you the option of "Open With in the dropdown window. Hope this made some sense W. C.
  23. Mike, What the HeII is that in your Avatar...? If it is a Larger woman (?) in a Bikini, that is all I need to know......
