  2. How about a soft, stuffed "friend" in the crate. Something to spend some quality time with if you know what I mean! What part of the valley you in?
  3. I think you can still do well with in-wall/ceiling speakers. Sheer numbers will help- stuff 6 or more speakers into the space and you can have one heck of a system. I couldn't hear the klipsch speakers anywhere by me either but did hear Bowers & Wilkins and have been super happy with my setup. Good luck as you get into this!
  4. I will add my 2cents. I have a theatre room that is about 11x19 and went in wall and in ceiling for 7.2.4 atmos. I have Cornwalls for my 2 channel system in another room and I knew that I wouldn't be able to go that big (La Scala, corns,or even the new reference premiere) in that space without compromising on seating and feeling like I wasn't stuffing 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag. You may feel differently with towers maybe you won't. I agree with having the front 3 being the same. If you're building new I would suggest wiring for as many speaker combinations that you could reasonably fit in your space-wire is cheap and it's easier to run when there is no drywall in the way. I see Metropolis mentioned the same thing. But having recently retrofitted my space I can attest!

    Ebay Sales?

+1 for this. I've heard sellers getting nailed with losses over "empty" boxes being received and of course when they changed the feedback rules you had/have buyers holding you hostage over partial refunds with the threat of negative feedback and stars on shipping, communication, etc which impacts fees for sellers. Haven't sold a thing there for many years for those reasons.
  6. As the title implies, I have an Adcom pre-amp remote control. It's an RC-45ii that worked for my now defunct gtp-600 unit. The remote works and looks pristine. Pm your address and it's in the mail. Hopefully someone can use it.
  7. Resurrected to ask a simple question: one pair of attenuators. Do you put them on the amp or the pre to adjust line level and noise from the pre? Seems that I would put them on the amp but I may be thinking about this the wrong way.
  8. Watch out for loud noises and collars (shock or spray). You can mimic noise setting it off when you don't intend to. I barked when my dog was wearing the collar and he got sprayed. Sensitivity setting for sure.
  9. Two words thunder shirt. I have a friend who uses one. He says it keeps his dog from frwaking out during loud storms. http://www.thundershirt.com I would also neuter the dog.
  10. My dog does the same thing here in AZ. I don't have neighbors that can hear him. I think the dog will stop after a bit once he figures out no one is there.
  11. Wish someone would sell khorns or scalas here in phx at a discount!
  12. Is your setup on the long wall or short wall. Mine is the long wall so close to speakers. I can't even fit rears. Would you say that Atmos is great. Mine is on the short wall. All speakers are in wall/in ceiling so I don't have a space issue. I was watching Gravity and Sandra Bullock is flipping a toggle switch above her head. I heard the clicking above my head and I swear I sat up wondering what the hell that noise was. With a 9' wide, 5' tall screen you are totally immersed. It didn't even occur to me that I was hearing her actions above me! It was damn cool.
  13. Giving them to me to put in my corners!! The pair I heard didn't need any help. Just sayin'.
  14. I have Atmos in my theatre and Cornwalls for 2 channel. They are different animals for sure. My theatre is about 11x19 and you are immersed with 7.2.4. I can't fit la scalas in here reasonably. Would love to hear but space doesn't work. Hopefully you can figure out what gear you need to get the right sound for you.
  15. Somewhat disappointed in the latest Star Wars release, no Atmos even though the film I saw at Christmas was mixed with it.
  16. I have Apple TV in my theater. You are right you don't get a bunch beyond directv, Hulu, etc. I have streamed FaceTime calls thru it however so everyone doesn't have to cram into a phone or iPad to see. Also since you can mirror your iPad thru Apple TV you can stream videos, movies, etc.
  17. While not an audio rack, I bought this at Costco. It's about 6 feet wide and sits below the TV. No worries about ventilation and it is very sturdy so no issue holding some weight. Show off the gear!
  18. I have a strong rack for my HT. it holds my components, extends out of the cabinet and rotates for easy connections/swap outs. I notice no racking, but I'm running an Anthem AVR and Oppo-neither is very heavy.
  19. I was hoping to see the tops posted. Holy cow that pattern is AWESOME!! Love a good figured wood veneer like that.
  20. Frys is also one of the largest grocery store chains in the nation. Kroger foods.
