  1. edited - i posted mine for sale in the garage sale... nice set-up!
  2. I have C7 drivers in a KV4 box (they are virtually the same size). It's flat black. Would do it for like $175.00 shipped. Box is in decent but not perfect shape.
  3. Nope, both are beastly SS, though Pass Labs voices them to be a bit tube like in the midrange I feel. As for the JBL's, they can be had for much, much less.
  4. Well, I do like bass. So I'm running the CF4 V1's. Room is 13 x 17, 9.5 ft ceiling. Bass traps in all 4 corners. i've driven them with a Pass Labs 250.8 and a BAT VK200. Both provided quite a bit of bass. They don't go quite a low as my DynAudio Contour 60's that I used to have. BUT, they go pretty darn low and move more air than the Dyn's. They feel and provide a much bigger sound. They definitely move some air, I do get a bit of a kick with them. It's very punchy. They sound huge. I have crossed them with a sub at times, and I almost felt I had to bump the sub higher than I even like to get more bass, but it definitely wasn't as smooth. Now the sub would dig a little deeper, but it was rare that I heard notes with the sub that I didn't hear with the CF4's alone. They do an awful lot right. Imaging is quite good, though they don't have the deepest sound stage. No question you are sitting in the front 2 rows with them though. They are very articulate and live for sure. Really a good speaker. Has me once again thinking about the JBL M2's, which is the best horn speaker I've ever heard.
  5. So... I have a hybrid speaker. I have C7 drivers, but in a KV4 cabinet. (my CF4's are medium oak, so I swapped the drivers, they are an exact fit) Volumes are nearly identical. KV4 cabinet is in solid shape but not perfect. I'm in Michigan. I'll let it go pretty reasonable, but shipping of course is a pain. Drop me a pm if you are interested.
  6. Excellent overall condition. One scratch on the front (which you can't really see from a distance, took with flash and unedited). Outstanding match with Klipsch. Smooth, excellent bottom end. I do have the original box and packaging. Asking $1000.00 Located in Michigan, local pick-up available. I drive much of the state for work and I am happy to meet somewhere.
  7. left you a message. I have a single horn, no driver. drop me a line.

  9. Oh, I want cherry cabinets... I don't want 1k cherry cabinets! Have a few ideas if I can buy them from him.
  10. Well, I had DeanG rebuild my crossovers. So I would have to swap those also!
  11. I live about 2 hours from him. So, he was coming my way to buy an amp then bought my 30's while he was up here. Probably my fault he isn't selling now, he heard my CF4's... with a good amp and in a good room.
  12. He came to my place to buy my 30's. Based on pictures, they look pretty good. One scratch on the side that I suspect Restor-a-finish could buff out. Honestly I wanted them for the cherry cabinets, was going to swap my V1 stuff into them.
  13. So, I actually met the seller. He does have them, he's torn on selling them. I was going to buy them as I'm sort of local... But definitely shorter ports. He is a big KLF fan, bought my 30's from me. I tried to work a cash+ speaker trade, but he said not right now. But he does have the speakers.
  14. I may try dynamat, though I'm skeptical. But, I will put painters tape over the horn first so if I want to pull the dynamat... I can just peal the painters tape. Because once Dynamat is on, it's on there. But, may give it a whirl. Side note - DeanG Crossover rebuild definitely broke in a bit. Skeptical of break-in, but after the first few days, no question they were a bit smoother and settled in. As for the difference, well the speakers sound great and imaging is spectacular.
  15. I'm fortunate. The room is treated. GIK bass traps in the corners, panels at first and second reflections, carpeted, small dispersion behind speakers and across. They sound very good, just want to tweak... Need to find some places I can demo some gear. Might try a vincent pre-amp with tone controls with the pass.
  16. I'm driving my recently acquired CF4 V1's with a Pass Labs 250.8 and XP12 pre-amp. I've also swapped in my Harman Kardon Signature 1.5 (200 wpc, big current amp). The speakers may be one of the most revealing of upstream electronics that I've ever owned (including palladiums, I had P37's for a while). I have a neighbor who didn't believe amps could sound different. When we went from the Pass to the HK, he immediately said, holy shit... what a difference. The HK sounded nice, controlled even a shade darker. But the Pass has a much larger soundstage. It was obvious. (and I believe the HK is a damn fine amp for the money also). That said, I want to ever so slightly tame down the top end when listening loud. Considering trying a tube pre-amp, or something with tone controls. Really torn. I don't want to lose the soundstage the Pass gives, but man if I could just tone it down a shade. Any thoughts on tone controls in a pre-amp, vs a tube pre-amp?
  17. Oh boy. Tempted to buy them and swap my v1 parts into them. Looks like trey have shorter ports. But that cherry is awesome. Dig that more than the oak I have!
  18. Actually, I was only thinking about the box... But the KV4 box is nice and neutral black and all, but the C7 is a bit nicer. Traded my black c7 with Teaman (thanks!) and a little restor-a-finish and damn it's looking pretty nice. But the interior volume of both is awfully close.
  19. Ok, CF4 crossovers rebuilt by DeanG, breaking them in as we speak (I'm not a big break-in guy, but I do notice a difference after a few days). Question, has anyone been able to source speaker grill cloth that is similar in color to the graphite used on the CF4's? Parts express seems to have black or gray. My CF4's are fine, but I want to re-do the grill on my KV4/C7 hybrid... So, for those who might be interested. The KV4 drivers, horn, and even the crossover/speaker terminals drop right into a C7 cabinet. The volume is really close between the two also. In my case, I wanted an oak center channel, so that is what I did. (So, I'll be dropping the C7 drivers into the KV4 cabinet if anyone is interested). The KV4 cabinet I have has a couple dings. But, if anyone has had luck with the grill cloth and a close match - please let me know!
  20. Yet another update... So, the 30's still for sale $700 or best offer. (thought I had a deal to deliver tomorrow, but dude seems to be on the fence) So, - center channel I do have one to offer. KV4 cabinet, flat black. A bit digned up (But touched up). BUT with the C7 drivers, crossover etc (the cabinet is very, very similar to the c7). I dropped my KV4 drivers into an oak C7 cabinet, so I have this KV4 cabinet and C7 drivers. The interior cabinet volumes are very, very close. Sonically you wouldn't tell a difference. The KV4 cabinet does have a grill in good shape. Would do the center for $150.00 along with the mains...
  21. Ok, My Epic CF4's are up and running again, so time to clear out space. The KLF30's - $700.00 or best offer. Would prefer a local pick-up or I will meet you if possible somewhere in the middle.
  22. Palladiums were indeed nice. But Jim Salk's speakers and some of the stuff they do is just unreal. So many to choose from.
  23. Update Ciare Woofers no longer available. Working on a trade with the C7
