  1. These are the really rare (only ever seen one for sale on eaby in 6 years) Short horn TV model. They are built low to use under a tv. They are a lot more like the early Cornwall then short horn. With the big deep cabnet the get pretty low bass. looks like some one modified the outer cabnets with the doors and black grill, To bad they messed with the finsh. The 15 Jbl was another modifaction still JBLS are nice can be worth good $$$$. Rare is a matched pair as most were sold solo for mono.
  2. Same here never heard from the seller about shipping. Would be nice under my Lascal pa cabnets for more low end.
  3. perfect black finsh= Lots of sanding build a smoth finsh with sanding prime filler. use a guide coat over you primer (like gray primer over black) when you sand the gray color off and not through the black primer you have a perfect smooth base. you can finsh the final coats the same with a guide coat. best to use cabnet grade laucure.
  4. Short horns came a few way back then. full trim no trim kit form This looks like a kit from klipsch, as the kit did not have the id tag on the back. But *** does have the Trusonic 15 a very nice driver. I alway thought it was the "reel " not the short horn that Paul klipsch did'nt like. The Rebel was only made for a few years and the short horn was around for a long time and in fact kinda turned in to the cornwall. The first cornwall used the same drive set up front grill and baffle was the same size ect.
  5. I bid on some lascala pro top sections the other day and got the same second chance offer. it did look real to me but I emailed the seller through ebay and they said it was a scam. I then forward the email to ebay fruad dept. Seem someon is hunting the Kl;ipsch sale this week.
  6. Its my understanding that to balnce a signal you have to add another transformor or circut to the signal which can add more noise and some color to the sound.
  7. I cant say I have ever grown tried of any. I either like right away or don't. A good song always a good song. I may not like some of the newer stuff that some do but I never grow tried of the ones I liked/like. I might be more inclined to go the other way with songs that slowly become favorit. btw I use to not really like John Mayer until I saw him on the PBS Clapton blues speacial 2 night ago. He was in Hendrix land on that strat. I think he stole the show with his great gutiar tone I was shoked man can he play.
  8. For cheap guitars your better of buying a good used one. better if it a few years old, as by than most of the wood has done is thing and should hold up ok. I had the same problem last winter with my daughter. except shes a lefty which really limits the choice. c. I tried to get her to play righty as I have a few. My first choice for her was a old lefty fender Mustang but dam they are rare and not cheap. To bad fender dos'nt re reishe them as with the smaller scale neck they play like butter. Was gfoing to buy a big baby talyor but had to order it. I must have play 20 good sub 200 guitars that all pledy well At guitar center but all were righty. Well in the end I found a nice mint used Gibson epiphone left hand thin body Acoustic with built in pickup. She was in love. My choice for good cheap guitars Yamaha red lable fg75. Geat tone built like a tank. I used to keep on in my trunk for years ,it even went back packing for a week in the rain. still play great. Any martin thats cheap even if it plays bad it can be fixed but there never cheap. Gibson new epiphone line. Baby taylors no name gutars that play and sound good, But make shure there old as new one can driff out of tone and palyablity. Olvations did I say yamaha any pre 1960 lespaul, fender strat. Just go to any big guitar store and play them .
  9. Speaking of khorns in FL note a freind while on vaction in the KEYS saw a real vintage khorn with altec or JBL mid range driver in the trash and never called me until it was gone. It had the early driver dorr and rare early JBL wood horn lens. Must been late 40's cabnet. Bummer
  10. Must ne about the H 700 on ebay right Now.
  11. Must ne about the H 700 on ebay right Now.
  12. My early 70Ss and early 60's heresys Both have the H 700 tag on the back.
  13. My early 70Ss and early 60's heresys Both have the H 700 tag on the back.
  14. i always though Mcintosh was a deal compared to vintage Marantz. I see the model ( selling for near 10 gtrand a pait on ebay ect. The model 5 are about half that. I say the words been out there for a long time. Klipsch and Marantz were used together In the 59 worlds fair Stereo demo in Brussles.
  15. Gilbert, I am more closer to Vt. Boston ma area is were I live. The PWK signed 61 cornwall is not in mint shap but still org. And signed by the man. He Is the one that tested it and Signed and dated it. I'll try to post some pics. I wonder how many rear port Cornwall were made. seems like there were at lest two types
  16. gilbert, It is good someone from here won now we can get your input on how it sounds. I do belive it has the same drivers as my 60 except for the Ev 15. the crossover looks real close also. mine has the same port and small hole and small mid driver ect. My serial # is 118 built april 15 1960. I do have a oak finsh PWK signed 61 for trade for a early rear port cornwall I have a 59 Short horn that is almost the same aas my 60 cornwall except it has the corner shaped cabnet The short horn has the same drivers and front grill as my 60. I was thinking Of just building a clone and using the The shorthorn front grill and panel and drivers for a perfect match.
  17. I tried to win the second oldest cornwall to this group, but was our bid DAM DAM. I have been looking for years for a mate to mine. really wanted a match to my early 60 Cornwall. I think i have been asking aropund for abour 3 years hear. I did get the bidding up to over 960 which was way more than I really wanted to pay. who ever won if you ever want to sell let me Know.
  18. I case abyone wants to know the stock bass driver is a Evm12 real easy speaker to find or have reconed.
  19. Gilbert, IMO I vote for a Marantz 8b or a pair of model 5 over the over price mcintosh mc275. The mc 30 watt mono sounds a lot nicer with vintage klipsch and 30 watts tube is closer to 100 soild state. thet get plent loud.
  20. I have the very same speakers 71 I think. Same finsh and grill cloth. Mine have the Ev bass drivers with the orange suround. The bass driver in yours really looks like they are much later. I bought mine two years ago on ebay from the orig owner who never opended them, they are mint just like yours but with out the rare boxes. Yours are the 2nd pair I have ever seen on the net and i look daily. Very nice my favorit grill cloth.
  21. I also have some industrial Lasaclas and the were made in 1980 and have 4 serial numbers. I have not tried them yet used them with the top section vertical. I use mine mostly for pa pratice use with my band.
