  1. I have to vote for Carly Simon album where she is on her knees in a short skirt...OMG.... rick
  2. I dont think Paul Klipsch would have signed them like that,,,so i dont think that is selling point on these. When he has signed stuff before he always signed it big or very neat and besides he wouldn't sign PW....just my opinion though....rick
  3. I heard of stories about guys selling speakers out back of vans..well it happened to me,,,,i was comming out of dept. store and this explorer pulls up and a guy with a distinct boston, new york accent,,,lol,,i live in KC,MO area...he says.. hey i got a surrond sound speaker system ,,,you want to buy it,,,i say no,,,he says,,,you want to take a look any way,,,i say no....and on top of this i have two Klipsch stickers on back of window of my truck...lol.I guess this guy doesnt think people will hear his accent.Probably had boxes full of bricks wish i had looked though after he drove off,i could have had a good laugh....rick
  4. Dave, the 1975 Jensen Interceptor III with a 440cu. in. engine got 17 mpg while the 1975 corvette with a 350 only got 20mpg so i dont think it cost anymore to start a Jensen up as far as fitting the engine into the Jensen it is a big car it fits in there just fine.Rick
  5. Henry, that spirited 4 banger is a Lotus 907 4 valve per cyl. engine, same one Lotus put in the Esprit in 1976.One of the first 4 valve production engines put in a regular car...first Jensen Healey was out in 1973.They used the Jensen Healey as test bed for engine.....also the Jensen Interceptor came with a chrysler 440 engine ,so i believe the one for sale has been changed,,,not sure since it is right hand drive, could be in U.K. they had smaller engine for gas prices over there.I have a 1974 Jensen Healey with 50,000 miles on it.....by the way that engine is 120 ci...puts out 145 hp....in 1974...un heard of back then..in fact it had more power than a chevy corvette of same year and because of smog controll on chevy the Healey was faster lol..rick
  6. Thats not a 67...its 72-76 year,,,i have a jensen healey and use to belong to Jensen club..its a good buy if you want a project car,,,,,very good start to a nice rare car,,,rick
  7. I have three HK...two HK430,one HK730....430 hooked to LaScalas with home built ALKs and 730 hooked to sons Heresys. The LaScalas kick butt and sound is great. You can get the fuse type bulbs from parts express and the other bulbs can be ordered from there to,,,i have replaced all of them one time or another. The fuse type bulbs are cheaper from parts express,i bought one here locally from repair shop he charged me like 4.50 for it..lol...live and learn...i called parts express and they said they didnt carry them,,,but one day i was looking through the catalog,,,duh...and guess what i found,,,boy i felt stupid.Anyway Andy recomended HK430 for my son for x-mas gift last year and i got one and we both looked at each other and said wow...Andy wanted me to hook it to LaScalas for months i didnt do it,,,to hard to hook up in my stereo closet,,,,butwhen i did,,,i got me an HK430 as soon as i could,,,,never looked back,,lol,,,Rick
  8. Yea ,you should hear a HK430 on a pair of LaScalas or Heresys.... you will be impressed......it will blow most recievers away before you get to 1/4 of a turn on the volume knob....Rick
  9. You can still get new woofers from Klipsch....same as K-Horns,LaScalas,Belle.Why not just buy new woofers?rick
  10. MerryKlipschmas to all and a Horny New Year.....Rick

    Heresy II

What is the reason you want new ones? You can buy used ones for a lot less and maybe even get better sound. We need more info. to help you with this....Rick
  12. Go ahead and send those Hersheys..lol..to me,,,,i would pay shipping ofcourse....those old things will look good next all my old crap...i promise to make good home for them,,,,Rick
  13. I live KC area.....could check them out,,,,but you already paid for them didnt you?...Rick
  14. I feel your pain,,,,after we had our first son my mother-in-law came over and said,,,now you can get rid of those speakers and that sports car...ROFL...i said yea thats going to happen. The best ones are when people come over and the music is about 100db and they say what are those things. Then this guy bought some K-horns in KC ,i tracked him down to help him out,,,it was like ,why are you here...i told him..hey man those are suppose to be in corners he said they sound fine,,,,i just shook my head asked myself why did i even try...i did have my wifes nephew come by to get something and had Pearl Harbor movie on and he said real loud...now thats a sound system,,,,i felt like a million bucks that day...oh well some get it but most dont...Rick
  15. I think K-Horns are made in Hope ,Ark. by real people, not in Ind. by suits...lol....rick,,
  16. Well get all the parts first,,,,i did mine on a bigger piece of oak than called for,to make it easier to assemble.Took my time putting them together,,,,just when i felt in the mood and had the time.It takes awhile to build one....i would put a componet in and then do same thing on other one then put them up for awhile.I changed all the screws on barrier strip to allen head bolts and got brass washers for them to.I think i used a bigger barrier strip i got it at an electronics supply in KC,...i had friend take a pic,,,not real clear, not sure how to post it ,will send it if you want.I will help if you need any ideas..rick
  17. Im going to have to recomend a old HK430,HK630 reciever...it will be cheap and real good sound. You will have a hard time finding a better reciever than that i think,,,,,rick
  18. Anyone who buys.. blose...should be whipped with the 18GA speaker wire they came with...lol...rick ...p.s. i will put my money on the table to,,,i think she will hear a difference
  19. Wow you bought new K-Horns......and you didnt post pics,,,shame on you...lol...but false corners should be easy to build,,,depends on how nice you want them,,,,i would make them heavy with a base to seal the K-horn to like Andy has talked about...with grippers,silicone....when did you get these babies???rick
  20. Hook the DVD to the reciever with the Heresys and watch some movies,,,,then go listen to a cheap surround system and then ask wife which sounds better...my bet is the Heresys by themselves will sound better than 90% of what you can go buy today.....i have a 24 year old HK430 reciever with a whole 24 watts hooked to 24 year old LaScalas and i bet they will blow away anything your wife can find
  21. It will be hard to find new speakers that can hold a candle to those old Heresys.....plus you can build a home theater around those...use them for mains......i use LaScalas for stereo, home theater,,,,,everyone who hears movies on my LaScalas say ,,,wow.....so keep them....you can always buy better front main speakers and use Heresys for rear channel,,,,,alot of theaters have used Heresys for thier sound in the past.....but if you do decide to sell them, offer them here first please,,,,rick
  22. Did you check the fuses?...how did you get to test these speakers? did the seller agree to let you?...rick
  23. If you want to go a little cheaper...i would recomend ,,HK430,pair of Heresys and that would be the base of the system then add cd,tt,......rick..ps dont forget to put grippers on bottom of Heresys if they are going to be on smooth hard floor
  24. In that movie when they are in the whale....right before the whale blows,,,,wow,,,bass passage is a wall shaker,,,and i dont even have a sub only those no bass LaScalas and HK430...hhhmmmm makes you think huh....lol....rick..ps i went to new Ultimate electronics store other day and wow,,,i was there two hours if thats any idea how i liked it,,,went back next day applied for home theater installer.....cir-cutt city and bose-bye..look out
  25. If the house is rock'n don't bother knock'n ,come on in....SRV....thats my motto...but if you do come in, dont tell me to turn it down...lol..rick
