  1. Oh and in case you didn't know if you sign up at Amazon Smile and pic a charity such as the Klipsch Museum they will donate money for every purchase you make. But you have to use the Amazon Smile site when you order which is same as regular one.
  2. Regulars 6 41 posts Location: Muncie, IN Report post Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) I went through this same situation last year. Eminence recommend the kappa pro 15lfc as the best replacement. I ended up finding a pair of k48s before i had a chance to try the kappa pros Edited March 3, 2016 by nd-irish147 Found this on the forum.

  5. http://ndgservice.ca/data/pdf/klipsck.pdf They list one buts over 300 bucks...lol
  6. Simply speakers has rebuild kits if you got the old ones. Other than that look on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-K-48-EP-15-Inch-Woofer-Speaker-Part-Great-Condition-3-5-Ohm/143011895874?hash=item214c2c5a42:g:5sEAAOSw-wJaPkTL:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true Call Bob Crites he may have idea or have one.
  7. You should call Cory and check out the new Parasound HINT 6 if its in your budget. Or https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/onka9150/onkyo-a-9150-integrated-stereo-amplifier/1.html Cory might be able to get you the Onkyo also he is a Klipsch dealer.
  8. Mine are 23U890 I think its 23 week of 1980.. 890th speaker... same as yours LSBLS W/S which means LaScala Birch Lacquer Stained...Walnut stain. Your labels look brand new compared to mine. I bought mine new in 1980.
  9. I dont see any problems with your idea....being that they are 1980 you should change capacitors out easy to do . If it was me I would just rebuild the crossover to type As.
  10. Bob Crites and simply speakers sells klipsch parts . But Klipsch should send new diaphragms because the crossover should have protected 8000 dollar speakers I think.
  11. https://www.simplyspeakers.com/klipsch-replacement-speaker-diaphragm-89486a-faceplate.html Says it fits your tweeter.....Klipsch should send 2 to you for free I think.
  12. I would still call Klipsch you never know they may in fact be good guys and replace he diaphragms for you. Does not hurt to ask I mean you did spend 8000 bucks.
  13. I found a k-77-f diaphragm on parts list for 57 bucks. Not sure if thats the right one. Make sure you tell them you just got these 8000 dollar speakers and the tweeter blew out. Where did you get them from ?
  14. If your sure its the tweeter call Klipsch tell them what happened and ask if you can have a rebuild kit ? For a K-77-D 1'' tweeter. I mean you bought a very exspensive speaker the least they could do is give you new tweeters. They would not help a friend of mine on a sub amp I was a little pissed about that after I recommended him to buy Klipsch for their excellent service.
  15. I would say to anyone looking...BUY BUY BUY.....then veneer easy.
  16. http://www.parasound.com/hint6.php I would call cory if you didn't already for the Fortes and the amp. Not sure why you need another amp maybe you need a pre amp.
  17. If you decide to get amp call Cory he carries Parasound if its in your budget. He also is a Klipsch dealer. But other than that I would look into the Emotiva 300 amp to add to your AVR. If your looking for new AVR check out https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/brand/shop-by-brand/1.html I got an Integra AVR there for a great price. Also make sure you do call Cory for the RF-7s he has got deals on them right now I think https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/profile/59101-metropolislakeoutfitters/
  18. Does your driver have a bug screen on the front of it?? Could just be that making the noise. I would also re-solder all connections and tighten the horn mounting screws.
  19. Good luck buddy....lol. Someone has been smoking or drinking to much.
  20. https://web.archive.org/web/20111030080533/http://www.klipsch.com:80/cornwall-ii-floorstanding-speaker I guess it was 1986 when Cornwall changed over to MDF. When we went on tour through Hope I think the MDF they used was not your typical MDF. Maybe someone who knows more could chime in on that. https://web.archive.org/web/20120324224038/http://www.klipsch.com:80/heresy-ii-floorstanding-speaker 1985 for Heresy.
  21. If you want birch ply you have to buy Klipsch before 1980 which would be Cornwall 1......Heresy 1......LaScala 1. I would rather buy older Cornwall and fix it up myself and have money left over to spend on good electronics.
  22. If you got room go for LaScalas......but any Cornwall is pretty good. Replacement parts from Bob Crites will fix anything you need.
  23. You wont need a lot of power I think what you got would work depends on a lot of factors . But you could try these. https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/onktxsr373/onkyo-tx-sr373-5.1-ch-x-80-watts-bluetooth-a/v-receiver/1.html#!specifications https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/intdtr204/integra-dtr-20.4-5.2-ch-x-80-watts-networking-a/v-receiver/1.html#!more
  24. Are you sure those are hooked in phase ? I have done it myself and its easy to over look.
  25. Comparing a 2500 dollar golden ear to a 1800 dollar is not very fair. But Im willing to bet the Fortes would hold their own. Lets put a cornwall in the mix and see who wins.
