  1. I have 5 people ,1 comp,4 tvs,new front load washer to save water its high here, new dryer, fridge use 35KWH a day last bill 83.35 for 29 days.Would love to go solar but MO. doesnt give tax credit for solar panels. Before ig new washer water bill and electric bill almost same...ouch lol.Rick
  2. I would just measure your own,,make a carboard template minus 1/8 for grill cloth wrap around,,,then get some backer board and make your own,,,,easy to do.Black frabric from duracrest is exact match.Rick
  3. You can get power converters to run your whole house at alot of solar supply places. Backwoods solar is just one i know of.Solar panels and converters have come down in price alot past few years makes solar much more viable now even more if your state offers a rebate.Im also interested in electric car ideas alot of them out there to.Rick

  5. It looks like good idea but that lid will not hold up to UPS gorillas i dont think. You can buy metal camera cases at camera shop that are built like tanks.Rick
  6. Brand new K-33 is about 130.00 from Klipsch right?Seems better just to buy new one and give Bob the old one to use to start his repair inventory then later just buy a old rebuilt one from him if you want old square magnet one. Also just cause one woofer went out dont mean the other one will. Rick
  7. Dave i have three boys and they have hard time telling me about thier car problems cause they never learned the words for the problem. You need to hang out around here and read as much as you can then ask about the problem again. When you say ,,they blow,,,do you mean they stop working or they sound bad but sounded ok at lower volume?Did you make sure the wiring was right? Seems to me something is not right and its not the speakers i dont think unless you already fried the tweeters. Can you borrow someones speakers or someones reciever?Just to give you an idea i got 24 watts going to Heresys and if i put the volume knob at 9 to 10 oclock position it will rock your world and same reciever hooked to LaScalas...well look out,,lol.Rick
  8. Dont use caulk on the edges for the seal, use foam pipe insulation for tail board and top horizontal board on bass bin.You could also use flat rubber garage door seal or kitchen baseboard vinyl on the tail board. And if they are on smooth hard type floor use Grippers on bottom from wal-mart. Rick
  9. The side grills come off to so not worry about those.I would take the woofer access door off make sure the K-33 woofer is in there and working, taking each wire off as Brett said is good idea to.Rick
  10. Those are rated 92db at 1 watt and take 300 watt peaks so the Amp you got may be the problem. If your trying to get theater type sound out them you need bigger speakers and audio video reciever those little guys would make great rear speakers but not mains.Your not clear on what your trying to do, you say they are blowing, well a toyota corolla would blow up trying to keep up with Lotus Esprit, you cant expect those speakers to give you 104db in a large room.Rick
  11. Save your money and then buy Heresys and a HK430 reciever..Rick
  12. Go with DuraCrest believe me you will like it better #17 is it and Ralph is the guy you want. You go to another place and you will be sorry and then you will still have to order from Ralph.,,,Rick
  13. I think you could solder,,just need good iron and practice. Not hard to learn. Rick
  14. Im not sure if your dad wants or needs a AVR reciever...but you could get a Harman Kardon 430 the old HK430 not the new AVR one... it sounds great with Heritage has A/B switch.Just a thought.Rick
  15. Did you test the woofer with wires unhooked from the crossover? If so, i think the woofers are good and the wire or terminals are the problem. It does seem like wierd stuff happening,I would rewire the woofer..from access door to woofer...and then test the OHMs on the terminal,if good there then hook new wire from crossover to woofer door. But to do all this still requires removal of the woofer and then you could just hook Amp right to the woofer. Rick
  16. You might go ahead and take the woofer all the way out ..easy to do...to make sure nothing has made a nest or chewed on the woofer. Were these K-Horns in storage or in service when you got them? Rick
  17. Be sure and use the ohm meter at the woofer to take the wiring out of the mix still could be the wiring broke inside the insulation.Rick
  18. On the inside of the 20x20 access door the wires connect to the terminal mount and this connection gets pulled on alot, try running new wire to woofer from access door.Rick
  19. In Love potion number 9 the guy had some cool stuff not sure what it was though. Rick
  20. I think in 9 1/2 weeks when they went to the houseboat there were Cornwalls there but you have to look real close to see them though...lol...maybe use pause i think thats why i saw them.hehehe....today is my birthday to Rick
  21. Tex if the Corns are not loud with the power you have loosen and retighten all crossover connetions, look for drivers not working.15 watts into a Cornwall should be LOUD.Rick
  22. Are you Scalas on a hard smooth floor if so pick up some Grippers at wal-mart and be sure to pull the metal sliders off then apply the grippers i also put one gripper in center of woofer door on bottom,i think it helped alot.Rick
  23. While i also like to make stuff myself because im poor but i also understand if we as Klipsch owners dont buy some stuff from Klipsch and help keep workers in Hope working we may not have any Hope of any parts at all.I bought mine last year for my LaScalas not sure what i paid but i dont think it was 50.00 apiece though.Rick
  24. I think by the time you pay for cloth from,,,Dura crest and buy backer board and glue you would have already had the ones from Klipsch including emblems and saved enough money to buy Baseshoe moulding to make the frame to.Just a thought Rick
  25. Also black grill cloth can be ordered from dura crest fabrics #17 black,,,Rick
