  1. You scientifically proved that your power amp sounds better when the is TV is plugged into the Monster Power conditioner.
  2. I have not listened to those, but the spec sheet looks good and the price is a bargain. What woofer and crossover frequency are you planning to use?
  3. I just checked out some pictures of Mexican Mesquite lumber. Your speakers would be good looking.
  4. All the little things add up. Nothing wrong with wanting to get the best things we can, including amplifier stability.🙂
  5. We should all exercise our speakers more often. In your case, also loosen and re-tighten the screws at your crossover wire terminals.
  6. I see that you have a McIntosh, so no worries for you. Here is a quote from the above linked Andrew Jones article about speaker impedance; "But even if you pushed the volume too high for a party the receiver/amp's protection circuits would likely shut down the receiver or amp before any damage was done." Amp protection shut down can spoil the mood.
  7. Which exotic hardwoods are readily available to you in Mexico?
  8. High quality sound systems tend to get turned up loud sometimes. A little extra power can be a good thing.
  9. Most of the Architectural and Outdoor Series speakers have the selectable transformers for installations that are designed to use multiple speakers on each channel. Are they playing loud now on a different switch position?
  10. Yes, the second one down on that list. My 35 year old Klipschorn panels are still perfectly flat and solid, after all those yearly humidity swing cycles. MDF does have its good points, though. It is dense, flat and your saw blade cuts are very consistent.
  11. MDF works good as long as it never gets wet and the finished cabinet is not dropped by careless handling.
  12. What I see on the ends of my 1980s Klipsch speaker panels are approx. 1 1/2" x 1/2" strips of wood glued together (butcher block style) then laminated with reinforcing veneer, then covered with the attractive surface veneer. I believe the wood industry calls these "lumber core" panels.
  13. You might need to try the K-33, or the Crites 1526, or the woofer that @ClaudeJ1 likes to recommend for horn loaded bass cabinets.
  14. A copper atom cried out "I keep losing my electrons." His atomic pals in the speaker wire insulation ask "Are you sure?" The copper one screams "Yes, I am Positive."
  15. When someone says they don't hear a worthwhile difference between what they have heard and some other much higher priced amp, it may not mean that they want to use a cheaper one. It may just mean they are happy with what they have.
  16. The parts look OEM in all the pictures in the C-List ad.
  17. Looking forward to reading about your listening impressions.
  18. We do have our personal favorites, and many of mine are large, but some beginners may have budget, space and roommate considerations. Any Klipsch speaker is a good start.
  19. Try turning the switch to other settings and then back into the bypass position to make sure it engages. If your low volume condition persists, then you may need to exchange your speakers. The two positive terminals are connected together and the same with the two negative terminals, for hooking up wires for a daisy chain of these speakers when operating a 70 Volt system.
  20. For testing purposes, can you connect the speakers with wires directly to the receiver.
  21. Beginners who visit the Klipsch forum for information are already exhibiting signs of higher intelligence, just by making that choice.
  22. There should be a switch on the back of your speaker cabinet. Use a small screwdriver to select the BYPASS (or 8 ohms) position. Let us know how it sounds.
