  1. i had to move the 102 off the stand as it was about to fall off. the 1802 was "pushing" it off the stand.
  2. mr rodney newton is a generous man. i used to fish in his small lake all the time. he has always been a very kind and generous person and boy did the hope gathers get to see it. i really want to express my thanks and gratitude to rodney. i hope everyone that was there realizes that he went above and beyond and in making everyone feel comfortable and at home. he made sure that no one wanted for anything.
  3. Sometimes people just don't know what they are talking about.........I should know.....I go to those meetings.
  4. I think that was going to be a module of a array system with 2x15", the KP510 horn, and the KPT-HF horn looks like to me. Not a proper 'line array' but a box Klipsch was designing (like that monstrosity with the 402 horn) for stadium type use. "Proper" line array? That's funny. We should just throw away the 402....... Lol!
  5. somebody name all these for us and what did you think of them? The really sounded good, my favorite was the KI 396, that sub was great, it's a ported sub, ported into a horn, well that's a cool idea. What we really need for pro and HT use is that 396 in a shallow rectangular box. No one is going to build an array of them anyway. Really??
  6. The basic difference is that the k25 has a vented pole piece while the k23 does not. That helps in relieving the back air pressure and lets the woofer move freely.
  7. Electrolytics are awesome sounding!!!! Yeah!!!!
  8. So I see you chose to glorify God deano. Awesome! It is so obvious in your post!!!
  9. Just sell the damn speakers. Geesh!!
  10. Oh if it came from the heritage document then it must be right. Or it's wrong since I named it......lol!
  11. Happy Birthday Deano! and many many more and as far as what you said..............................no.
  12. Oh that wasn't accusatory; I was just confused since there was no quote. how are you Dave? doing good?
  13. A little modesty and a little humbleness goes a long way.....
  14. By the way I have been using tractrix ports for about 5 years now. We did an internal white paper that showed the advantages of the profile. No need for a yellow button here.
  15. There are a lot of opinions on this thread that assume what pwk would say and do. I knew paul for quite a few years and i am still careful not to assume what paul would say or do. We ought to take the "for sure" stances that paul had and emphasis that.
  16. Distortion In general. Several kinds of distortion. Etcs are also important This along with the other things you mentioned can help greatly with passives because it can help determine what order filter to use. This info is also very helpful with actives. Then I listen to the speaker. Not the music. Ths music must be familiar to you and it must be recorded well. Does it sound like I thought? like it should? That is why overlap in all these tests is important giving you the ability to choose other crossover points. What I usually find if you did your homework correctly the acoustic devices will reward you with great sound. Then it's just a matter of "salt and pepper".
  17. Can we just get back the subject of the thread? If you want I can start a chief bonehead sucks thread.
  18. Choosing crossover points should involve a little logic. And acoustic crossovers are far more important than electrical crossovers. My method is to let the acoustic components tell me where they liked to be crossed over. That usually involves quite a bit of data.
