  1. Pop music in this context the best. Pass on good music appreciation and fine sound and love for it to your favorite young ones. They benefit.
  2. In short, Klipsch speakers are as good as the source components, the music sources you feed them, and the room and setup. They are extremely revealing of any shortcomings in the above items. Good recordings sound good, great recordings sound great, bad recordings sound bad. Garbage in, Garbage Out.
  3. I have one advantage being special needs in the day, we got more cultural education. And I feel like my life is so much richer having had that well rounded perspective on music and art appreciation. I bemoan the disappearance of music and art education. Our youth have never been the same with these classes not taught like they were in our youth. And it is to their eternal regret and loss. We have an uphill battle getting our youth enlightened.
  4. I really appreciate this effort to post the Dope From Hope literature. In short, an amazing amount of PWK thoughts and engineering theory explained well. I regard this series as a short course in audio engineering and in Klipsch knowledge. Very useful, and applicable even now.
  5. Yes, I bemoan the day when music and art appreciation classes went away in favor of more standardized testing. That very move has hurt the importance in music appreciation and enjoyment for a whole generation. I let youth sit and listen to my gear when possible and let them ask questions. A little education is good for keeping music and audio appreciation alive.
  6. One of Avery Fisher's finest moments. It's in beautiful condition. They sound wonderful, liquid, lush, and sweet. Very musical. You'll love it.
  7. Vinyl for me. Too much of my favorite music hasn't seen digital or ever will. And I find it more involving and palpable. Second to vinyl is open reel tapes. Half track Stereo if you please. I like good digital, but hate the excessive compression/limiting abuse and the noise reduction abuse on material which often didn't need it.
  8. T-Bone Walker (especially the Capitol, Black & White, and Atlantic eras) Freddie King, his King and Cotillion sides are favorites Lightning Hopkins Lonnie Mack Stevie Ray Vaughan Jimmie Vaughan Delbert McClinton Tab Benoit
  9. HH Scott tuner to go with your HH Scott Amplifier. Still some of the best FM tuners ever made. And hard to beat by the standards of right now.
  10. I push a manual chair presently (a TiLite AeroZ with Roho based custom cushion and Comfort Company Radius Back). Will be demoing a power assist system soon for this superb instrument. I am also a broadcast engineer by trade, avid audiophile since I was little. And wheelchair athlete and newbie adaptive climber. I am a fitness freak, and live life on my terms, with music a major part of it.
  11. I will say I like the old LSA Standard amplifier a great deal. A friend who is a HiFi dealer has one on the showroom floor. Very musical sounding and lots of power.
  12. I love any New Orleans funky soul sounds I can get my hands on and love them all.
  13. The HH Scott is excellent and great with Klipsch Heresy speakers. You'll like it and the Sansui in fine order.
  14. You forgot New Orleans Blues, R&B, Funk, and Jazz. All great ingredients of the funky stew.
  15. As it is, and always should be.
  16. Hi all Klipsch fanatics, Anyone here wheelchair users? I push a wheelchair much of the time. Birth defects (spasticity and spina bifida, hip rotated out and bad clubfeet). Maybe my lack of a precision body makes me like precision HiFi gear much better. Your thoughts welcomed.
  17. Re: Terry DeWick. I am spoiled. I am only 45 minutes drive from Terry. Not to mention he is a great friend of mine. I really enjoy any visit to the shop.
  18. A good, more reasonably priced alternative to MC 275 and many tubers is the McIntosh MC 250 SS or a MA 5100 integrated amp or MAC 1700 receiver. All 3 sound great with Klipschorns and the Heritage line. And also make Chorus, Forte, and KG series sing.
  19. McIntosh MAC 1700, Klipsch Heritage's best SS friend or a good old Sansui 4000. The fewer the IC, the lower the damping, the better the best from Hope can sound.
  20. Used McIntosh MA 5100 for around half that. Refurbished well will outlive 8 NAD amps. NAD good when working, too often they don't work.
  21. One in nice cosmetic and operational condition fetches this price. And very worth it. And this amplifier is a superb partner with Klipsch Heritage, Chorus, Fortes, and KG series speakers.
  22. As long as you have corners, I see no reason to not try them. Big Klipsch sounds great in smaller rooms. Break the rules at least once, you might find heaven sonically.
  23. Brook amplifier was PWK's favorite, his was modified.
  24. Vinyl spoken here. I am also the likely main 45 RPM Klipsch fanatic here who plays a lot of those 7" singles. Not to mention LP discs.
  25. Welcome to the forum from another new member. The only cure for Klipsch is known as more and larger Klipsch. It is an addiction.
