  2. I finally took a few pics of my room and thought I'd bring this thread back
  3. Isn't that how commercial theaters are set up? With multiple side surrounds? Thanks about the sig. Glad it can give someone a laugh.

Thank God i've never wired anything backwards, just the terminology.

  8. But they may claim a patent on the internet

Any of you listen to Helmet? ---------------- Godsmack started out as an Alice in Chains cover band, that's why they are named after an Alice in Chains song. And yes I listen to helmet. And if you guys are turning this into whose the real metal bands thread. Then I need to add Metallica, Motorhead, and Anthrax. And just for musical talent alone Dream Theater. Don't judge a band by record sales or how many people follow them. Some obscure band no one's ever heard of can still be one of the best bands ever to play. Just because we've never heard them doesn't mean they are any less talented. You guys should do some listening on www.cdbaby.com.

However, I think Scenes From A Memory is awesome too. Maybe you're just not a powermetal fan, since Scenes From A Memory is a pretty good showcase of Dream Theater's sound. ---------------- Scenes is a good showcase of thier sound but I don't think it really shows what they are capable of like some of the other discs mentioned.

That's the disc that introduced me to the band, and I also have the Metroplis 2000 & Budokan DVD'S, which show lots of geetar shredding, which I also enjoy. I'm a bargain bin/rummager/piker, so I find lots of tuneage to add to my obsession. NP - MASTODON - Leviathon ---------------- I'll second Train of Thought, it's awesome. I was going to recommend that but I thought he should hear Images and Words first. Then on to the rest of the good stuff.
  12. Pick up Images and Words. You'll be a lot happier.
  13. Both posters above offer great advice. The RC7 is a great center but I don't know how well it will match.
  14. Sorry for your loss. Remember she will live on in your heart and your memories.

The other advantage to putting the subs in different locations is it gives you some opportunity to fight the modal structure of the room (destructive interference due to the room's acoustics). all that said, it is easier to just stack the subs and mirror their settings. Keep in mind that when stacking, you'll still want to dial in the first sub (even using the phase trick I mentioned) and then you'll want to copy the settings over to the second sub and then adjust their volume accordingly. ---------------- Oops, sorry. I meant 6db stacked. My fingers got out of control while typing.
  16. It will match up good. Basically the same speaker as the RB3-II.
  17. Congrats. Parenthood is a wonderful fun thing. My little girl is 2 and we have a blast together.

A problem that Klipsch suprisingly has not fixed (so simple). Quality feet on a flagship speaker should never be an issue. What say you Klipsch? ---------------- I guess they have to do something to keep the cost of the RF7 so low

My surrounds If this is correct you can see that I am in a small jam. I love the sound of my rcw-5's (and spent some $$on them too), but unless I am listening to something in 6.1.1 they are not "getting any exercise." ---------------- If you use DPL2x all 4 of your surrounds will be playing. But you are correct in thinking that when in 5.1 or DPL2 then the back surrounds will not be playing.
  20. RF7s sound great in my small room . Some of the haters find any reason they can to try to put down one of the greatest speakers ever made.
