  1. I’m still experimenting with speaker placement. I’ve only had them a few months so I’m still learning. It’s pretty amazing how full they sound at low volume levels.
  2. I’ve wondered what the would sound like if I went the active route. Mine have a passive crossover network so I know I’m probably missing some of the magic these speakers can offer. I really love the way they sound now and It’s kinda nice having only one amp to worry. about.
  3. I’m not familiar with the Bryston, but I’ve been through a lot of solid state amplifiers and this one has stayed around. I really haven’t found any genres of music that don’t sound good on the 942/4‘s.
  4. I power mine with a B&K 4420 amplifier. I have never turned the volume past 12 0’clock. By that time, it is really engaging to say the least.
  5. I have a set in a 20x24 garage and sit 10ft away from them. They sound fantastic.
  6. I agree they are light in the low bass, but still think live recordings on a set of La Scala’s is hard to beat. With or without a sub.
  7. That is good to know. I figured they would be fine. Thanks for the reply.
  8. I’ve wondered the same thing. My main listening area is in a garage. It is wood heated most of the time, but there are periods of a couple days at a time where temps might get into the low 30’s. I haven’t ever had any trouble, but don’t want to expose them to any damage from the weather. I would expect extreme heat in the summer would have more of a negative impact on them. My garage is foam insulated so the temperature doesn’t fluctuate drastically.
  9. In my opinion, the main factor that makes a La Scala so much different than all the other Klipsch models, except K-horn, Jubilee, is the horn loaded bass section. That is why I prefer it so much more than any of the direct radiator styles Klipsch offers. It sounds much cleaner/faster in the low end.
  10. Even Though La Scalas don’t go very deep, the bass they do have is the best bass I’ve ever heard. I have a set of Kpt-942’s and still prefer the horn loaded bass of a La Scala. My recommendation is to build a horn loaded sub to pair with them.
  11. Definitely getting harder to find. I think a lot more people are buying them to flip these days. Even at 2,000 +\- a little is still a bargain compared to new. I sold a pair on the forum a few months ago, and am still kicking myself for it.
  12. Congrats on finding a pair close to you. The La Scala’s are special speakers. The value of those speakers is what you are willing to pay for them. You could probably find a better deal if you are willing to wait. That could be weeks, months, or years. In my opinion, life is too short for that. Enjoy!
  13. No, I hear you. I’m more speaking on my own experience. I looked for quite awhile for my first set of La Scala’s and then foolishly sold them. I did find another set and jumped on them right away. Don’t get discouraged. You will find some. Just be ready when you do. Good luck!
  14. If your looking to find original La Scala’s you need to be ready to jump on them quick. It seems to me that more people are finding out about the quality Klipsch heritage speakers provide at a fairly affordable price.
  15. The splits are not very common. I rarely see them for sale.
  16. Sure. I can send you better pics if I can text them to you. I can’t figure out how to send good pics under 2mb on this forum. thanks, Nicholas.
  17. This is a pair of Heresy III A-stock I purchased new last September. They are in excellent condition. A few small marks on the risers. The finish is cherry. I would estimate they have been played between 30-40 hours. I do not have the original boxes. I can send more pics if someone is interested. $1200 Local pickup in Southern Indiana (47638)
  18. If those were closer, I’d already be there.
  19. Indiana is a great place to live. I’ve been here in the south end for over 40 years. If you ever take a road trip, your welcome to stop by. Music is always going.
  20. I have a pair of Heresy 3 that I still haven’t quite warmed up to yet. You might want to listen to a pair before you buy.
  21. Well, the long wait will only make them that much sweeter! Brand new Klipschorns will be worth it. Congrats!
