  1. I grew up with antiques as my Mom was a dealer for fun. She was a kind and gentle women who taught me a lot. I collect many things that I think have value and need to be preserved for the next generations.... what do you think is worth saving?

    Bob Crites RIP

To Bob's family, and the Klipsch community this is a sad loss. Bob and his family helped many on this forum and others that only browsed... Bob expanded the Klipsch brand more then some may know. He was an inventor....and an innovator.... pushed the boundaries... My best to his family! I think the forum should be shut down for a period of time just in honor of him.
  5. Wuzzer, you will get through this, PROUD OF YOU MAN!!!!! Thanks again for your help!!!!
  6. I love old cars! Theres a weird dude that i know. He's an unfair old bastard, horrible perhaps to his employees.... makes them do things that are completly unfair. Hes a physicist. Rips Buggattis apart old Mercedes and whatever... copies the parts for those that have the money. Makes new cars partially assembled, sends them all over the world. Last car i saw in his shop was a 1915 Alfa, said it would go 140 MPH, price a cool 850k.....he uses Rustoleum for paint, with very cheap brushes with some of his very early vehichles.....
  7. 1st dibbs, ebay, maybe Kittenger.... dont know your taste? we all have very different sensibilities.....
  8. Mallette, thanks for all you have done for so many! I was a newbie here once, and you tought me and many much. Always kind, rarely dismissive. Knowledge from those you trust or makes sense is a gift you gave. Good luck with your path! You will be missed! Thanks again!
  9. Someone sent me a bunch of white and black fresh truffles, they smell so bad, i cant wrap my mind around it.... like what i think rotting oysters would smell like. One time in H S someone put Limburger on the hot registers, they closed the school as they should have..... what have you experienced?
  10. Speakers are most likely Altec 604s. A lot of people had them, Sony execs for home playback, Barbara Striesand in her home sutdio, Frank Sinatra in his living room... I could go on and on....On the JBL forum one guy said its like owning a Ferrari....
  11. Just try some tomato juice thats low sodium, worcestershire sauce, good fresh horesraddish, a half of a lime or lemon squeezed, and some grays, graces, or tabasco hot sauce.... and lots of it... vodka not needed....celery salt is good too...
  12. I have had 2 sets of Cornwalls, which sounded nice. They were older model 1s and the "1.5s" . My Altecs for me were in a different league in my space, much clearer but very picky with recordings but you heard much deeper into a recording. My 402s with clone bins are amazing, but i dont use the standard drivers... So happy Klipsch developed this speaker, it can compare with speakers costing amounts that are ridiculous......
  13. I dont have to have one of those types of stoves, this guy cooks in the woods like i do all the time....
  14. Consider yourself lucky! i have over a hundred different spices, five types of oils, five vinegars, eight flours, ten types of dried chilli and could go on with all the things i use.... if my wife didnt shop everyday and sous chef..... cooking would be very different...
  15. I ve always loved great food, was a vegitarian for a very long time so i needed to learn to cook. I stopped being one, when my young son said "Dad why dont you eat the same food as me". Some of you have picked your poison, now go and pick the fruit, or be one....
  17. That looks like a great system, young man! Train your ears and dont listen to loudly!
  18. There was another time. There was vet who walked our towns and we saw him everywhere, he walked all day. He would go from one store to make change then another to get dollars. A tall skinny man around 6'5" and always wore the same military jacket and never made eye contact or talked. Everyone I knew was afraid of him, he was just called "the walker". One day I couldnt sleep, decided to take my bike in the woods. I dumped it in wet clay, and as my light was shinning forward at 2 am and Iam laying on my side, here he comes but hes carrying a stick! The bike scared me because I couldnt get it off me. He just walked by in the dark with his stick and said nothing. Years later to mess with a friend and to help him out, I met him outside a store and offered him a ride.He sat in the backseat with my friend. Turns out he was a really nice person.....
  19. The first time was on a Bultaco 360 nasty powerband, next was going 60 on a bridgestone 175 with no breaks, riding with a friend on the back took an 80' jump in mid flight he leaned on me, pushed my shoulder landed with the tire sideways..... every time I ride my modded YZ250..... weights around 212 pounds and has over 50hp. Those 500cc 2 strokes are insane!!!
  20. Gilbert, I will try that , sounds interesting! i eat some odd food too, but once someone tries them..... it will change their diets and their look at food.....
  21. This is a simple ? shouldnt it be whats the best for the populace as a judge? And a balance of powers, But that can never be........
  22. Iam not a JD, but i know a few who are in my family. One clerked for a SCJ, the other a FCJ the other went as they all did to very good colleges. They have to have open minds, apply yet interpret the law fairly, never be one sided politically. Read the Powell doctrine, if you want to see the other side of the coin.
  23. Flu its grapefruit juice, most times I dont feel well, always Thai Tom Yum soup, spicey food in general. Super pick me up is wheatgrass. What do you all crave or eat when feeling not 100%. Thanks!
