  1. Used a tfm-15cb for quite a while with LS. Sounded great. Had a couple of them. As stated, they are pretty old now and started wearing out. I would advise finding something else. They were good in their day.
  2. I agree and will add that I would much rather see more "projects" like the Ojas than another ear bud or mid-market powered speaker. Also an endeavor such as this helps support the Hope plant and it's workers. Not just buy for a dollar and sell for two (or three) dollars. If this works out, they will probably build more (set initial production to 100 pair probably based on they made 200 horns), and / or add to the offering. I may not be their target audience, but I like the thought process.
  3. I was being nice. That is why I suggested to make a new back panel for the port experiment......can be undone quick and easy.
  4. Yes. I was referring to adding a port and not adjusting anything else. I have three pair of Heresy. One original, two Supers. One pair with a 4" rear port and one with a front 1x14 slot port (HIP look). Hard to speak to the the port on it's own as all have different components (slightly). Three different uses. Three great sets of speakers.
  5. Have fun with it! It is a hobby! Wont hurt but can be undone. If you are doing a rear port, I would suggest cutting a new back panel. Couldn't be easier and is quickly returned to stock. A port with the speaker positioned in the room correctly, may get you more bass. I doubt lower bass, just a couple spl from the woofer. Some feel the squawker is too bright, this may balance it out for you. Enjoy.
  6. Klipsch knew what they were doing with the Heresy. Sealed is the way to go with the current woofer. If you want to go ported, you would need a different woofer to experience any noticeable "improvement". It was built to work as a system, tweeter, squawker, woofer, x-over, cabinet. That has been my experience over the years.
  7. I agree with everything you state here. Heritage is just better with Heritage. They never came up with a center per se. Three alike across the front stage is always a good idea. If you just can't make it fit physically, you might have to make a little saw dust fly.
  8. Agree for the most part except there is only one Belle so cut that price at least in half. If someone wants the entire system, the Belle is worth more. If you sell the Khorns and Heresy separate, a single Belle is normally worth considerably less as you have a much smaller (already small) market. But if someone needs just one, your in luck, challenge is finding that person. I'd say $7500-$8500 for the five. Round up for the California factor. Round down if someone wants you to ship. Ask what you want, you can always come down. Might get lucky.
  9. He started at $12,000 about a month ago. Dropping it by $1000/month should get them sold by late spring, maybe mid summer(ish)
  10. I never interacted with Grasshopper but always enjoyed his posts and perspective on life, etc. Wish I had met him at some point. I know it would have been a hoot. He will be missed here. RIP
  11. Geese were circling the building. Only 4 were hooked up and the sub was not on either. Still shook the walls.
  12. Just to be clear! Richie is a great guy, and wonderful to deal with if you are buying selling or just hanging out. Some thought I was serious. It was tongue in cheek. I was playing off his sarcastic "stellar personality" comment And NO, Woofers and Tweeters did not steal a license plate off a car in my parking lot. It was given to him cuz it was a car dealership plate that had his same last name. And both were pretending to be offended.
  13. When I tell a story, I like to put a little "jam on the bread". It makes it more interesting for the listener. I meant to say "additional" brain damage. I do not recall the exact reading on the db meter, but I do remember thinking WTF. Our ears were about 5 feet apart. The only decay was in the structural integrity of the building. There I go again. Good times.
  14. I did not "accuse" you of anything. I simple told people about how you took a license plate (and the frame) off a car in my parking lot. Which you had done. I see no issue with telling the honest story. The db level was 112 +/- (with 4 Heresy) I don't think we got to 126 but I may have brain damage from the experience.
