  1. did you unload the old cabinets? I don't see them on craigslist anymore!
  2. Don't forget the added bonus of a free pair of empty Chorus cabinets with subwoofer purchase!! Act now!!!
  3. I'm jealous too! They leave here tomorrow and I don't even get to hear them when they are hooked up! At least they are going to a good home.
  4. Don't underestimate Matt's input. These are plywood boxes right now. A long way from pretty. He has sanding and finishing and rewiring to do. Me, I'd slap a coat of Duratex on them and call it done. Getting them to what Matt is looking for is hard work.
  5. you are absolutely right, I apologize, I will not use it anymore. In my defense, I only used the cnc for the motorboard.
  6. If on a tighter budget, the more economical KSB 1.1 (5 1/4") or 2.1 (6 1/2") hold their own and can be picked up cheaply. Sound is not bad at all. Haven't been made in 15 years but still have life in them. I am listening to 1.1's right now in my office.
  7. no Cubs fan here, just an observation that a miracle may be in the works. Go Cards!!
  8. Cubs are going to make the playoffs, one step closer to a second miracle. As far "sir", I believe in this case it is due to age. I got about 20+ on Matt.
  9. I can do that, not sure how to post it, but can take the video.
  10. Will you use the same bit? Sorry, I'm CNC knowledge challenged. Normally switch between metal and wood without changing the bits. I will probably put a new one in for these cuts as Matt is looking for "pretty". A bit that hasn't cut any metal yet will give a slightly cleaner cut. Sometimes switch to an MW bit which doesn't "burn" the wood as much. This table has a tool changer so I can switch on the fly, (kinda cool). The drivers are recessed on the Chorus (different depths for the woofer vs the mid and tweet) so there needs to be some dados that will use different bits.
  11. Re: The table in the picture What are we looking at exactly? I was cutting some aluminum parts when Matt took that photo. If I threw some sawdust on it, it would have looked more familiar to you.
  12. Yup, that oughta do it!
  13. was that tomorrow??? just kidding! see you in the am.
  14. I am going to Seattle in a couple weeks to visit my daughter and the EMP (museum) has a Jimi Hendrix exhibit/ show that we are going to. Heard it is bucket list material. I will get to check that one off.
  15. But you have to ask yourself if you sometimes listen to certain music or songs because they sound good on a good system. That is the only explanation I can come up with as to why you guys got busted in Hope last year while listening to a gawd awful song like Thriller at 5 am. I'm just saying......
  16. sounds fine to me. I will confirm when it gets a little closer.
  17. Bring the cabinet as is and the wood. We will make it happen. Looks like it is 1/4" layered on top of the 3/4". Might need to get two thicknesses of the plywood. The face of the motherboard is 1/4". Are you still going "grilless"?
  18. Does this mean my free lunch is off?? Don't go too crazy on the new cabinets. You don't want to have too much invested next time you make a switch. Never heard a bad thing about the Chorus but there is a limit to what you can expect for a return. But, you always have jweber if you go Mahogany! Good luck, sounds like a fun project.
  19. Full steam ahead, as usual. Good luck with the project.
  20. Oh, no you don't! I was looking to be helpful, not looking of a project. The rate you are fast cycling through speakers lately, building your own cabinets will slow you down and that is a good thing!!! I would actually be cutting on a 5' x 11' CNC router table, so any additional cuts or dados would not be a big deal.
  21. let me know the dimensions and I can cut the motherboards for you. Just the cost of the wood. (and a road trip to St. L) to pick up.
  22. If you were wanting to listen to music with the tv off, my offer still stands to test drive the KV-1. It is part of a Frankenstein HT set up. I have other centers I could plug in if you would want to keep it.
  23. I disagree with the whole "can we all agree" concept.
