    RF-7II

Not affiliated Ending soon. No bids. $500 currently! https://www.ebay.com/itm/122003574491 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. VW GTI 2 door carried 2 RF-7II and an RC-64II with plenty of room. Volvo 850 wagon carried 2 Altec 19s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. The case probably braced the cabinet and caused it to move much less. Without the cabinet on top, you may be hearing the cabinet vibrate a bit with the music. This can be a good thing when done right and provide more body and warmth to the sound. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. $20-30k and you could have multiple pairs of brand new Klipschorns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. With many home speakers, I'm not sure if reference level is possible. If you take a standard 88db speaker, it would take about ~500 watts to hit reference at the seating position. That's assuming the speaker can a) handle the power and b )continue to increase in volume. Reference I would imagine is pretty easy for most of the setups on this forum in standard rooms. ...although even the Heresy III max spl is 116, which would just make it for a 10ish foot listening distance. 7. Nice speakers! What JBLs moved these guys?
  8. Netflix/Redbox Blurays are stripped down versions. It's a gamble whether you will be getting good audio or not. I had rented the latest Hunger Games a while back and noticed it was just Dolby Digital so I went looking for info. Apparently it is up to the studio what is included in the rented movies. Lionsgate is known for stripping out the uncompressed audio. It sucks because that is half the reason to get a bluray. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Nice price. Good luck with the sale! These shouldn't last long. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Looks like the fortes have the upgraded titanium tweeters as well, which can bring a little more. Value is really what someone is willing to pay. These prices vary widely. I don't think you'd have an issue getting $600 or more for the fortes. Like a lot of people here though, I'd recommend keeping those fortes. They are some of the best Klipsch made. 11. Beautiful work! That's going to look spectacular. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I think one of my favorite things about efficient speakers is the ability to stay together during complex passages. I've listened to a lot of music that just turned into a mess on previous systems. Those same passages sound fantastic on the Klipsch and Altecs.
  13. They look like KG4s. Good deal for all of that.
  14. The RF-7IIs come closer to the Heritage sound than other Reference series I've heard. I assume this has to do with the 1200hz crossover for the horn and true compression driver, which allows it to cover a significant portion of the frequency band. I can see the appeal to the 3-way design, which is why I am keeping the Heresy. However, the Jubilee is a 2-way, and that was PWK's plan. My Altec 19s are 2-way, and they give nothing up to a 3-way. Based on my experience with the 19s, I'm not sure it's a question of 3-way vs 2-way, but rather the proper integration and radiation patters of all drivers involved. Also taking into account the sound signature the design is going for.
  15. I think the Quartet and Heresy are pretty similar, but I chose the Heresy over them as well. I had done another comparison a while back on those: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/162578-rp-280f-vs-quartet-vs-heresy-iii/ If I get some time on the weekend, this may happen. Just need to find some books to bring up the rear of the Heresies. None of my amps have A/B speakers on them, so I don't think I'd be able to use the same amp. Switching speaker cables in between would leave too much of a gap to really get a sense of the differences.
  16. Awesome setup! ...time to convince my wife that the RF-7IIs are small.
  17. Just curious, why would you want to use the Heresy mid rather than the Belle?
  18. Yes, I know, it was...heresy...to compare with two different amps. I tried the H III on both the Anthem and NAD amps, and there wasn't much difference on those speakers. I had the two level matched, so although the amps have different qualities, I was able to get a sense of both sets of speakers. Not ideal, but it was fun and informative for me anyway. As far as songs...there were many. Some artists I listened to: Halie Loren Norah Jones Mark Knopfler Dire Straits Johnny Cash Mary Chapin Carpenter Tony Bennett Buddy Guy Ryan Adams Morgan James Dave Brubeck Beegie Adair Then there was an assortment of acoustic guitar, cello, pop, and a little bit of rock. Send a pair over, I'll do the test! Yep! I still love the H III, they are great speakers. They are what got me into this Klipsch obsession, so they won't be going anywhere. Currently they are performing duties in my office/guest bedroom and sounding fantastic.
  19. These should be gone already. Yet another great deal all the way across the country...
  20. Looking good! Is that sub on the left about 4' deep or are my eyes deceiving me? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Tried it yesterday with the cleanest of installs The trial run was a success so I straightened a wire.
  22. Just a quick update on the 7s. I replaced the Anthem MRX 520 AVR that was powering them with Outlaw Audio's 975/5000 combo and there is no longer a need to turn the treble down. This combo is very smooth and completely balanced out the speaker. As far as stands for the Heresies, I don't really have anything besides end tables that may be able to hold them. I may give it a try and see what height they end up at. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. 520 is probably going back to the dealer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Just got the 975/5000 combo. First impressions: much smoother than the Anthem 520. The combo has a very analog sound to it - fantastic with the RF-7II. Only about halfway through my first movie, but the amp has a TON of power. 2 channel is awesome. I'll write more when I get some additional time with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I didn't block it, I just didn't use it as a factor in determining which I preferred.
