  1. I'll accept that. Distortion in any form drives me nuts. With my tinnitus, things like that are bone jarring.
  2. I don't mean the amp clipping, but the movie itself - such as overloaded mics. I noticed it on some blu rays as well. Some are amazing, some not so much.
  3. Now...don't laugh at the movie choice, but I knew it had issues. Step Brothers. About 19 minutes in (19:20 on my counter), when John C Reilly yells "Hey, did you touch my drum set!?" and throws Will Ferrel's legs off the couch. That's the most noticeable part, but there are some more examples in that exchange they have. I also tried it on my computer setup, same issue.
  4. Tested it this morning on an iTunes movie. Watched it on my main system and could hear the overloaded mic sound. I then put it on my iPhone and through headphones: same part of the movie, same overloaded sound. It's just during yelling dialog in some spots.
  5. I've been noticing on some movies, it seems they weren't really paying attention to mic levels. Special effects/explosions sound awesome, but sometimes in scenes where there is yelling dialog, there will be crackling/clipping in the center channel. I don't listen above -17 on my receiver and my center is also set at -8. It is repeatable and happens in the same spot within the movie. Apparently some people can't hear this sound, but once you do, it is awful. The RP series is ruthless with showing poor recordings, so these sounds just can't hide.
  6. I actually prefer the Reference over the Heritage for HT. To me, they have a more theater-like feel to them. Dynamic shifts and transient responses are amazing. I had tried HT with Heresies and Quartets, but the RP series just seems better suited to the task. Both are awesome, so this doesn't seem like a crazy trade to me - opportunity to try new things.
  7. I find 80hz too high for larger speakers; it takes too much of the 'fullness' out of them. I have my 280s at 40hz and my 450 at 60hz.
  8. Might as well watch some more movies.
  9. Copper and black just looks so nice for photos. What movies are on for the weekend?
  10. $251. But I'll need shipping. The extra dollar should cover it.
  11. Another vote for crazy. ...but some may call us with refrigerators we call speakers crazy too. YMMV
  12. I'm pretty sure all I was able to accomplish was brushing my teeth in the time it took you to do all this.
  13. Looks like the 280s and puppy dogs won. Quartets have been sold and will be thoroughly enjoyed in a 2 channel vintage system.
  14. Nice review. How big is that sub??
  15. I'd say if it's a legitimate ad, definitely worth the chance.
  16. B&K Video-5, 5 channel power amp. $50 Local pickup only. 105 watts x 5. Amp has a slight buzz and I'm not skilled enough to fix it. Has a fantastic sound. One channel has discoloration on the heat sinks. This is how I bought it.
  17. Denon 2808ci receiver - $100 Local pickup only. Works great, all current processing modes except atmos. Comes with power cord, main & zone 2 remotes, and am/fm antennas. 110 watts x 7. One optical input is missing the tab, so the cable will not stay in that slot.

Concert in here. That was just a peak, that's not average db...9 feet away in the seating position.
  19. I'm betting on something originally happening or someone in the household not saying something... Maybe call Klipsch for a warranty claim? If this is an issue they are aware of they will replace without a problem.
  20. Did you look at them when you got them? That wouldn't make any sense from just playing them. Perhaps something happened in manufacturing or shipping.
  21. Sorry, bad pic, but just the straps that connect high and low inputs for bi-wiring.
