FS: Pair Klipsch Reference 5.25" Copper Woofers ($45 shipped)
1HOHDude replied to johnnydrama's topic in Garage Sale
PM sent. I would like two of them. -
Now that is what I call a center. If I had not already gone into my Pro phase I would be all over these beauties.
-
Its a disease. You will get used to the 82s and then some morning hear a freshened pair of 7s or perhaps a Khorn or Belle and the race to better sound is on.
-
I have a pair of cherry RB 82ii if anyone is interested.
-
Nice stuff for a large home theater... I love my upgraded TSCMs....
-
Maybe he has used one of the new squawker drivers that will go to 20K Hz. Crites makes one.
-
Well it has dimension over the '62 with the additional squawkers and the larger diameter tweeter. In my case my LR is a bit narrow and the room a bit on the live side which I think favors the '62. But I do think you are right about the "bigger" on the larger stage. Also my wife prefers the TV a bit below the movie level that I use upstairs. Good luck on your sale, personally I love my '62 for LR TV.

This set of 3 has been offered almost continuously for nearly 2 years based on my personal knowledge. Originally the asking price was much higher. I purchased another pair of TSCM elsewhere for drastically less than this. BUT. . . I agree with the seller that the TSCM units sound really good. I upgraded mine with ALK crossovers, new upgraded drivers and still stayed a bit below his price. [I did drivers and noticed a better tweeter performance and I thought the Crite's cast frame speakers modestly improved the bass; it was the ALK crossovers however, that made the most difference.]

Did my RC-62 and the dents just disappeared.
-
Take a small plastic funnel and suck those dents right out! Won't change the sound but will make them look soooo much better.
-
Get all the way down to 20 Hz with the right home built TUBA sub kit for a fraction of the cost.

WTB K 55 V dual phase, soldered terminal driver.

I have a couple of "X" series with solder terminals that someone could wrest away from me. Someone here must be able to tell me what the "X" means. -
Sorry I am told I confused a member. I mean the '62 has a better bass response than the '64. When I tested the '64 against the '62 the only time I could tell the difference was the occasional rounder fuller sound of bass in the '62. My favorite wife, bless her, swore she could not tell any difference. OK: All you '64 fans tell me why I am wrong.
-
I have one for my LR tv. Gave it a 48 hz boost and it does remarkably well. I wonder how good your ears are since the real difference is in the bass. Please let us know how the '64 compares with the '62.

Under priced. Some will grab this bargain.
-
The Squawker/Tweeter section consists of two Klipschhorn 400 hz horns. I certainly would consider the ALK 600 or 700 Hz crossovers. The purpose of the custom speaker was to match the 400 horns in the TSCM.
-
Update. Still looking.
-
Point taken but lots of technique and lots of parts. Far simpler to just buy one, but..... that assumes someone wants to part with one.

Los Angeles craigslist: Worth The Drive Klipsch RF-7 RC-7 RS-7 Brand New In Box - $1500 (Irvine) Photos show a sub also.

I do not understand "the one I have". This is a single center speaker specifically made to match up with my TSCM fronts. It uses the same horn and driver as the TSCM to match up. To make the match complete I want to match the TSCM crossover -> ALK ES 500. I will say the cheapo eminence 500 Hz crossover sounds rather well but not as good as the speaker did when I plugged in the borrowed ALK. Must be someone out there with unused treasure who is willing to part with it?
-
Home build Center channel from Klipsch parts. Presently using cheapo 500 hz crossover as a temp but it sounds really good now. I borrowed an ES 500 from my TSCM and the sound is soooo good. Hoping to find someone to sell me one.
-
Looking for a single ALK ES 500 or equivalent. Any quality 500 hz 2 way crossover? Looking for a Linkwitz-Riley Crossover 4th order crossover.
-
How badly do you want a pair of 52s? Price range?
-
Would think the brightness more a function of the tweeter than the squawker. But.... If it sounds good it is good.
