  1. Hi @MicroMara Without going too far off topic compared to vinyl records. I have been using multi amplification since the early 90s, I often preferred the sound of the SS in the bass and I like the valves or the smooth SS in the midrange and treble. In this area there are several schools, those who swear by mono-amplification, those who multi-amplify with the same identical amplifiers at the top and at the bottom, etc ... With different amplifiers the advantage and to have the dynamics, the firmness and the amplitude of a good SS in the bass (the PAS audio of your compatriot of Schwarzach are fantastic from this point of view with a very soft price at Thomann) and the smoothness of a tube amp by example above. There are people who say that it is no longer homogeneous, I like this solution, you have to form your own opinion with your own tastes. Be careful with the SS solution in the bass and valves at the top, it is necessary to be able to adjust the sound levels of the amps with at least one volume control as on the PAS audio 2002PCA.
  2. Hi Melomaniac, I find in my collection Nancy (J. Coltrane Ballads), Petite Fleur (Sidney Bechet) and Le Boléro (Ravel), but on CDs, not on vinyls Argggggrrr 😜 and I live at 8 miles to Arles, but have not L'Arlésienne 😝
  3. My favorites sax albums
  4. Hi, I saw Ferrari races in 1994 on the Spa Francorchamps circuit (some say it is the most beautiful circuit in the world, especially because of the Raidillon de l'Eau Rouge). I slept in a hotel in Liège, then I took the road between Spa and Luxembourg through the Belgian Ardennes: what a beautiful region !
  5. RIP man, I saw the ZZ Top here in France in July 1994: brilliant https://memories.eurockeennes.fr/edition/1994/
  6. Yes @Edgar 👍 I also didn't understand what was wrong I discovered "Morning Phase", indeed the bass is deep and punchy on my CWIII 😍 As always in HiFi you need good equipment, but also a good implementation of the system, at home: 1- an SS amplifier for the bass 2- a good preamp with a tone control centered on 30Hz: Mc C504 3- a vent from my CWIIIs sealed with felt to tune the Cornwall lower, perfectly suited to my listening room 4- Speakon Neutrik sockets on my SS amplifier with professional Cordial cables, inexpensive but in OFC copper, 13awg section to connect my amps and speakers: efficiency and reliability of the contact without snake oil. note: other different implementations can work very well too, we agree. Finally, on my side to test your bass from your Cornwall: I recommend EEls "daisies of the galaxy" 😉
  7. @CoryGillmore thanks to you I just received Beck's album "Morning Phase". So I will be able to listen and test the bass of my CWIII, I will tell you the result.
  8. Gipsy Kings: they are from my region, I live 12km from Arles and I have already eaten at the restaurant at the table next to them, around 2014 when they won a Grammy Award: nice and simple, people admirable with the public 👍
  9. Rear Quad ESL 57 Bronze 😍
  10. @MeloManiac (Note: courage for your friend) The Belgians had some flashes of genius, but it must be noted that the Italians were good throughout the game. The Italians deserve their victory because their game was flamboyant and with very good phases of play and superb combinations, even if the Belgians were not unworthy. Forza Italia, now I would like him to win the European Cup. 2 of each team I have already put here For Belgium For Italian
  11. Hi, You have a fantastic Mark Levinson ensemble, but certainly sounding too clinical to pair with the Klipsch. If you don't want to break the bank, you can try to find a used and good condition small McIntosh C504 preamp. It has a warm and fantastic sound, especially with its tone controls. You plug it into your 432 amp instead of the 326 preamp, without spending a lot you get just the right amount of heat. And later you can change your 432 quietly, for example for the superb Parasound A23+ recommended here above.
  12. Hi @KT88 The equivalent in Europe of the foam presented by @DizRotus is the Monacor MDM. It exists in several widths MDM-5, MDM-20, MDM-30, it is easily found on the net at the usual merchants in Germany and Europe: Thomann, TLHP, Lautsprechershop Iris Strassacker ... Example https://www.toutlehautparleur.com/joint-adhesif-d-etancheite-monacor-mdm-20-profil-20-x-2-mm-longueur-20-m-mousse-pe-grise.html In your local DIY store, window gaskets work very well in general, be careful to take the right thickness according to your configuration, neither too thick nor too thin.
  13. Yamaha Slimline, I repeat it is necessary to raise them during the hot period that you are living at the moment to increase the convection and cool the amp 😉
  14. ALLEZ LES BELGES 🇧🇪 for tomorrow
  15. Hi @Seinbeans Most Cornwall I, II, III or IV users here get quality bass: Cornwall is a good speaker produced and loved for so many decades.
  16. @Islander If your amp has cooling that works by convection, that is to say without fan: - In first: you can lower the temperature of your amp by raising it by 12 or 20mm (about 0.50 or 0.75 inch) in addition even if it has already feet. Leave the radiators and the air vents fully open. - And after: if your amp is in a shelf, try to free the air around with a space on the sides and above of about 4 "(10cm) if possible, especially above . 👍
  17. Hi, My Tube Cary is heating up, this is normal, the tubes themselves are very hot. My old McIntosh MC2125 in Class B hardly gets hot: around 25/30 ° C on the radiators. My Perspective Classe AB heats moderately: 50/60 ° C on the radiators. My new PAS audio 2002 PCA does not get hot: 30/40 ° C on the radiators. I live in the South of France it is on average 32 to 38 ° C in summer, the region's record 46 ° C in 2019, I have had air conditioning for 3 years, it is around 24/25 ° C in the rooms in summer, so the CARY can operate normally even in summer now. But it is true that before when I did not have the air conditioning the amps were hotter in the summer, even if here traditionally we cool the house at night and we close the shutters during the day to protect it from the sun and the heat the day.
  18. With Cornwall instead of a subwoofer, you better have a little more bass with the tone control knob. This is what I do with my McIntosh preamp and it works great
  19. I have 2xLPs Radioactivity that I bought recently, but not Tour de France, too bad. For many their best LP is The Man-Machine, but they're all awesome. Do you know the German duo NEU! it was the rhythm section of the beginning of the group Kraftwerk: I recommend the first disc of 1971: NEU! Kraftwerk is a band that I have known since 1975, I have the 45T Radioactivity of the time at the top among others. Hey @MeloManiac I have lots of Belgian records, I'll have to put one or two for you soon to support the team
  20. Hi everyone, To stay in the general theme of vinyls and a little football (soccer for US) at the moment, and especially because I am not resentful today 🥵😁 https://www.discogs.com/fr/Various-30-Jahre-Jazz-Made-In-Switzerland-1935-1965/release/11369027 Notice the real "Made in Switzerland" engraved on the black part
  21. The French lost, The Swiss were very strong tonight, at home my wife and my Swiss children are happy Belgians are my favorites now👍
  22. Hi 😁 The French are generally chauvinistic, but I like other teams. At the moment in France we have a very good team with exceptional players, Mbappé in particular is very strong and Pogba is brilliant, the rest of the team is also at the top. In my opinion I think the Belgians are among the favorites, I like this team, the other very strong ones are Germany, Italy and France. Tonight France - Switzerland: There are 6 of us at home and tonight there are 5 supporters for Switzerland and 1 for France, me
  23. Hi, The black label is from 2019, the brown one is from 2010. The pairing of the pairs is indicated on the box, but not on the enclosure itself, indicating which enclosure number corresponds to the boxed enclosure. example of the pairing of my CWIII, Number 15180015 matche with 15180016, and vice versa 15180016 matching with 15180015
