  1. I like the Velcro on my Heresys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. They are fine until half of the tab remains in the seat. Flimsy POS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. My Heritage LaScalas and Heresys are virtually indestructible. Sad to say not so my RC-3 and RSW-12. The tabs that hold the grills on are chincy. Two broke off on my RC-3 and one off on the RSW-12. There’s other ways be it Velcro or magnetic. The Colonel would never approve of these cheesy plastic pins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. What is demastering? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. IMO if a person buys speakers because he likes the sound, why tinker with them? If you don’t like the way they sound get some other speaker. I’m not one to second guess audio engineers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Good Music

Why is fifty plus year old music better than the vast majority of today’s contemporary music? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Had all those records. Not going back. The CDs are like a veil of noise was lifted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. .0625 is 1/16” hence the low distortion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. That woofer has a .0625 excursion. If you want to pop that piston through the dust cover have at. Power specifications are listed for a reason. Twenty watts from a KHorn is deafening. Why would you possibly want with more than 100? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. 100 continuous, 400 peak. That’s all you need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Super Glue should mend them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I bought a MARANTZ SR 5500 on FB marketplace for $40.00! I replaced my DENON 1603 because my sub pre out had developed a short. It was cheaper than getting it fixed. WOO HOO! What a difference ! It has far better definition. Very happy with this find. A little more difficult to set up but well worth it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. They were recorded for mono release only. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. OMG! The BEATles and George Martin were recording pioneers. Had all the BEATles albums on LP. The Capital Records synthetic stereo records even sounded good as that was all we had. HELP was the first album released in actual stereo. It was years after the introduction of CD before these albums were released on CD. I waited patiently. The CDs blew me away. The first four mono releases did sound a little thin, but so much better than the capital releases. BEATles recordings were miles above anybody else’s. The BEATles’ music sounds incredible on my LaScalas with tone controls ruler flat. So much better than the over produced pop fodder of today. It is what it is and it’s the best of mid twentieth century music. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. My BEATles CDs sound amazing. Even the first four which are mono. Sound like they are in the room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Specifically what albums? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. 8 track. Tom Dowd was one of the few to have 8 track technology. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. 20 WPC of clean power is more than enough for LaScalas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Great recording made by Cream and Tommy Dowd. They showed up at the studio with their concert gear. Tommy was a studio wizard having been a nuclear physicist who worked on The Manhattan Project. He also invented the gain slider for mixing desks. Tales ... is Summer In The City by The Loving Spoonful slowed down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. The drivers should be fine if they were not abused. My LaScalas are ‘73 vintage and worked in a nightclub before I got them. Still sound pristine. A little sanding should remove water damage. I would offer $200.00 and settle for $300.00. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. KHorns have a smaller footprint than LaScalas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. It’s a standing wave. The lower frequencies are reflecting off those hard smooth surfaces. The reflected frequencies are 180 degrees out of phase with the source frequencies. When they collide they cancel each other out resulting in silence for those frequencies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Standing wave Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. What are you looking for? I carry mine on vacation for music in a beach house. Plenty of music for small living room. More than adequate for computer speakers. If you need more you should step up to a component system. They are what they are and not designed to fill a large room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
