  1. Airport code for Charlotte, NC. Note the ticket stubs from 2003 (first Superbowl disaster season) left #30 MIKE MINTER right #20 DeShaun Foster.

We played pigs & freaks as early teens here in this neighborhood.

Cops & robbers was old, freaks had the loot, when the pigs caught them they confiscated it and got to smoke it!

  3. Really!

A lot of the riffs Nazareth do/did remind me a lot of early Deep Purple like "Speed King" "Fireball" "Stormbringer"

Plus both of those bands just flat out assault you with their sound.

  4. @RTR Klipsch did state the hook-ups would be heavy duty and they are compared to my Heresy IIs also.

I did unhook my bi-wire setup put the connectors back in and run them off one pair of wires. That lasted until the next time I wanted to listen. Had to hook up the two sets back to A & B outs on my amp again. It could simply be more watts going in, but the same music at the same volume level has more depth, presence and punch. It just sounds even better hooked up bi-wired from a good amp. With all the folks that use good separate amps per channel, I know someone will try bi-amping with four amps two for each low frequency and two for each high.

  5. `Cept my 6 weeks at 54 have felt like 70 since the tendon separation from my hip to the quad, or was that really a snake bite on my foot.... doctors don't know (or give a ....).

We've got a nice cool day for grass cutting though!! The stubborn only gets more severe as time goes by!

  6. I believe they are @BlueHusky79 see those perpendicular lines through the grain, that's what happens when they mix English Walnut with California Walnut trees. Mine are similar to those above., but I'd bet those sound magical with a separate tube amplifier for each channel.

This next record needs no introduction

It is a favourite but it's the only title I currently have of this band

In the past I have lent out other titles that never returned so I'm left with #4

    Artist - Led Zeppelin

    Title - Led Zeppelin 4

Played in my household on a regular basis since it's release

And I like all the tracks not just Starway To Heaven

Good for you that you learned that hard lesson before that particular lp. Music and my tools I don't even lend to family anymore, not out of selfishness but preservation after years of loss.

  8. Always like ZZ any time, any place. They played Charlotte a lot back in the late 70s through Eliminator. Billy Gibbons among my top five favorite guitarists. Clapton & Trower are the others I'll never forget seeing. Shame to see that cover without understanding something that those three friends enjoyed together. Was it fellowship with beer over a cheesy-hot meal?, familys could be held together with less _ _

** It would be easy to say Jimmy Page and Joe Perry were my other most favorites. I did see Roy Clark ( with Arthur Smith) once when I was a kid. Country, and he could literally jam out on anything with strings.

  9. Obviously out of synch with y'all lately, vocal tunes I've got won't match lovely Diana Krall for the most part got my jazz off an old Sunday night radio show we used to have here and a springtime festival that's devolved into jerks plowing folks out of their way with their OCCUPIED baby strollers. Idjiots.

What's left of my Alan Parsons is good stuff, just not enough. Perfect for a cool Sunday afternoon.

  10. Then thirty to the throne dirtmud.

You've got it bad Tiger, I do hate your turnpike. Took the back roads from Orlando to Whitman once in June, Hwy 80 or 81 in PA was beautiful country (UTZ, UTZ, UTZ..before they were national) until we smelled NYC, then 90 was worse than just sticking with I-95 the whole way!

  11. @jjptkd yep delve into this thread and you will see from the chief himself talking about the evolution of the mumps horn. I also see your keen interest on the midrange just now going back only a couple pages. The full three range sound I have not heard this good in a long time. My Heresy IIs from 1991 obviously need help from Bob C. when I can get to it. I doubt they could match the total package from the F3s unless I radically modify them.

    Rock-n-Rolla!

That's the same size as the KLF 20 / 30 horn.. wonder if Klipsch is willing to let any of those out the parts department?

Bet there are copyrights involved. If they did it would be a while, don't think all the variants of the Forte III aren't out at this point.

  13. @Tigerman That's one incredible setup you've got up there, even reel to reel?

Robert Cray..... that man is a musician like some famous artists would only like to be.

Coffee....Ahhh hell, is there a twelve step club for that?? Doesn't matter, I would not give this up.

Got a Bunn that makes decent HOT coffee for three years now, it replaced one that died after two years. Last summer I looked around and found a cross between a pour over and immersion trick made by Eva Solo. It has a kinda steep price but works really good and looks like it could fit in a kitchen in a much higher tax bracket. Yep artsy-fartsy in a box.

If you get half as involved in getting your breakfast as we do our sound systems you would all appreciate this thing.

Heck the price went up. but I'm talking about breakfast, it's not just coffee to me. I'm John J there too.

  14. Just came in turned on the boob-tube and see heads are a rollin' in my favorite place to see that happen. Not much of a cover left, my rott-n-pit puppy got angry with me once and chewed up a lot of records with my smell on them. Glad this vinyl survived Apollo.

To my new favorite w&#... uhem Italian (it's a personal love/hate thing with my ex)

  15. I've had these Forte IIIs for a couple weeks now. Very satisfied with them, moved them a little bit, can perceive the difference in the bass easily. I'm cheating myself having them in my 12 X 12 bedroom right now, but d#mn they are excellent at any volume. I probably don't have more than 50 or so hours on them so I expect them to get even better soon.

Are you other early adopters as pleased with your new investments? Noted anything that merits sharing with the gang?

  16. Funny @oldtimer the public school system didn't even have chocolate milk here until about third grade, that's all we could get until about 10th grade. Then we could have what every southerner drank, iced tea. They probably made about a million milk addicts here!

  17. @dirtmudd You're one resourceful fella, but I swear it seems to take quadruple what it did back then. Good whole milk is $5/ gal here most places in jim&tammyland. I'll let it sour on the shelf before I buy it at that price. Store brand $3.50 is watered down and says "Whole Milk" on it. Whole is 4-7% milkfat, store brand is like 3 (skim in my book).  Sorry_ leg still hurts bad and I'm just belly-aching. I get Pet for $3.39 at the corner store with two week out date!

It was a very nice cart, I'll put that new one on soon and enjoy that nude shank sound again!
