  1. No I don't think you will. I'm sure someone might say otherwise, but there are people on this forum thay say you can't hear the difference between any Amplifier ever made. I say, a Parasound A23 brand new from Cory @MetropolisLakeOutfitters will be a PERFECT match for those speakers and make them sound incredible in a pure direct mode bypassed to the amp. I wouldn't feel the need to spend more on an amp given the cost of your entire system, I think it will fit right in.
  2. Yes but that is an older amp as well. Parasound and B&K are similar IMO. I woudk give the knod to parasound. Since you listen to a lot of music, why not get a better two channel amp, newer model or maybe even new from Cory? Let your receive power everything else. You could always give that a try? If you weren't content, you could get a 3 channel for the remaining speakers. You can level match using your receiver. No big deal there. I don't know what your budget or ultimate goal is. I don't know how important movies VS music are to you.
  3. Must refrain from commenting...
  4. That's fair. Never played with Epics myself. Was just curious as to your thoughts. Thanks.
  5. Lucky you. Ours are get smaller, coming from God knows where (or which farm) and getting more expensive.
  6. " I recentlyswitched them out to KI-396-SMA-IIs otherwise they would be staying. " Congrats. What do you think in comparison?
  7. "Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it."
  8. Yup. I had a pair of those at one time I got used. Sounded OK. Wouldn't be my first choice, especially at the cost new. There are much better choices IMO used. Used your money will go twice as far usually with the right deals.
  9. Ok NOW that the LA scalas are yours, here's the good news, they are $20k, but they beautiful and they certainly sound heavenly.
  10. That's awesome. I hope I am so lucky here in the next few years...
  11. Generous. So what LARGER Klipsch speakers will you be getting to replace these? 😎
  12. " Those remaining 10 are just deaf. They thought they could hear, but they can’t. We can only pity them." Hahahaha
  13. Can't they offer color choices besides silver 😔
  14. Digging that color scheme. Look to be almost good as new. Enjoy!
  15. Agreed. Exact same experience, except zero failures and purchase recapped amps for $100 to $200 more than the "going" rate. I would only be concerned if the particular vintage amp in question has a known history of smoking drivers without a recap.
  16. That is a valid point. Personally, I wouldn't. Knowing this amp can be recapped by any number of places locally to me for not much coin would keep me content. You may feel otherwise. There is of course that slight risk I suppose. I have run plenty of amps this age or older without recapping them and have never had any issues. If you budget has plenty of room, why not go newer? There will come a point of diminishing returns for you I'm sure.
  17. Very sorry to hear and truly wish your mother (and Dean's mother in law) the best.

Oh I completely ignored your link. Haha. Yeah that guy is a flipper. He collected about 10 of those amps and tried to flip them thinking he would get big bucks. Him and I were in contact at one point when I had four of them and he tried to lowball me to half of what each was worth at the time. I woild stay away from "fan is always on". Something is wrong with that amp, whether is be a simple fix or not, that fan noise will bug you. I scrapped the crown macro idea for myself.... The K2 is a damn good sub amp and 70% as good as the crown macro from less than half the price.

Come hang out and check out the system if you want. I know you are somewhat local. In willing to piss off the neighbors 👌
  20. Since everyone will be having a fire sale and dumping all of their nice gear that I can't afford, how about a nice package deal for me? Remeber, there is ZERO difference between your 10k tube amps and a car stereo head unit. Buy the insignia receivers FAST before they go up ten fold in price. People will catch on fast.
  21. They know seafood and how to party like no other, as well as how to add quite the interesting accent to Spanish.

Haha. Good for you. Keeping busy with audio related events. Your doing what you love, regardless of the toll it takes on your body (pregame with some motrin 😁). These subs IMO are all about SQ and have SPL to spare for days, if need be. I personally wouldn't consider JBL's JRX, MRX or PRX lines. If you have ever heard those lines compared to the SRX line you would know what I'm talking about. They are a damn bargain for the used prices they go for today. I have these listed at $1k outside the forum and will be patient. Who knows, at some point I may change my mind and keep em.
  23. Show, not go indeed. I just always liked the long stretched body personally. Many cars I would much rather have, just Two that were relevant to the discussion at hand. That grand national should have murdered that SS haha. If it didn't, you had serious boost leaak or perhaps rod knock? 😏
