  1. Don't keep it. You like I seem to like to rotate through gear in your own space with your own ears to find what is right for you. When, not if, you get rid of it, you will be sincerely disappointed with your losses. I don't know what you bought, but if it isn't vintage, call authorized dealers and ask them for their best price on item XYZ and you would be surprised.....

Haha you and I aren't so different in several regards I can tell. As of right now the thought remains a curiosity. I woild much prefer to hear a similar setup if anyone is reasonably close in socal 👍
  3. It's like magic. The wait was so long you forgot you owned it and it's like Christmas all over again with a new toy.

My setup is a Parasound P5 Preamp and parasound a23 amp. Dedicated stereo only rig, I could care less about surround sound and watch movies in stereo. I am a 90+% dedicated music enthusiast who could live the rest of life without TV or entertainment content if that paints a decent picture. The problem is, the heresys would only be about 3 feet apart. Not sure if that is an issue.... The fortes thunder and the heresys have more of a tight quick punchy bass that I feel in my mind might be an amazing combo.

I hear ya and that may be true. I have no idea. I will say, you were correct, these Forte IIIs are AWESOME in smaller rooms. I had full blown Crites klipschorns in here for some time and was just never happy with them. I of course had to try them and knew it wouldn't be ideal. The dual speaker setup peaks my interest.

In general I would agree with you @Shakeydeal, but I have never heard it myself and im not sure if you have either.... Therefore I welcome those that have done it, or continue to run a setup as such currently. I'll run both off of my parasound a23, which will be more than enough power for both sets easily.

I was wondering about the comb filtering myself.... Can someone answer me this, which is very important to me. If I place a pair of heresys in between my forte IIIs, will the stereo imagine suffer? I know it will sound incredible, but if imaging and the proper stereo image suffer, I'm out. Is there a better option than in between? Thanks.
  8. It sounds pretty clear to me that the solution to this would be that the seller credit you 10 to 20% back or the item is returned at his cost and your shipping is reimbursed. Don't keep something you were not happy with especially if you paid 70%.
  9. I'm maybe not quite as anal as you, but quite close. I believe in true disclosure, good communication and following through with doing what you say you will (I have had a couple exceptions for specific reasons in almost 20 years). If you aren't happy with the item and the description doesn't match what the seller listed it as, contact the seller and inform him or her of your concerns. I have done exactly that a couple times and gotten a credit back from the seller. This is especially true if you paid top dollar or close to it for what the item should sell for. Most people in the audio community I have found throughout the years to be an excellent bunch of folks. Worst case scenario, you can always get Audiogon staff involved. A seller tried to screw me and steal money from me. I got Audiogon involved and posted multiple rants all over the internet about it. I was furious! I finally got every dollar back 6 months later. My advice? Always pay with PayPal using a credit card through PayPal. You get 2 to 3 layers of protection in doing so.

And.... I will never buy another pair 😏, nor make any klipsch trades.

Thanks man. They are really nice in person. I think I'm gokgn to try the "doubling up of speakers" once these sell. Never seen or heard two pair of speakers in a hifI system before (I have heard a quad setup in the studio that was amazing)

PM me for all pricing comments or questions, otherwise feel free to post. Up for sale I have a pair of Klipsch Forte I Oiled Walnut in EXCELLENT Condition with Consecutive Serials. Speakers are all original.
  13. If you know what those speakers are, look at used prices. The answer I can assure you is NO.
  14. I'll give my all my klipsch up for those. I just don't want to pay extra to get em.
  15. Yeah. I bought an RR2160 and they shipped me the wrong unit entirely haha. I got frustrated after waiting and sent it back of course. Never did get to hear it. Vintage silver isn't my cup of tea either....
  16. I listen to a lot of electronic and I promise you the Forte III has substantial sub bass for music (in my room it can be felt quite easily) . Many genres of music has minimal content below 40 hz anyhow. Move those fortes closer to the back wall 6 inches at a time until you are satisfied. The manual recommends 2 to 10 inches from the back wall. I took advice from others about minimal toe in/ firing straight ahead as well and got excellent results. Heresy III are great with a sub or two, but difficult 5i blend smoothly IMO. The bass on the heresys is excellent and I love the speaker. I just don't have the room for anything bigger than a small 10 or 12" sub with the heresys and as such, the fortes satisfy much more. Keep the fortes. Top to bottom excwllent balance easy to adjust with positioning and tweeters are already at ear level.
  17. You sure the woofers are functional? Maybe a wire lead became disconnected or the woofers are out of phase. No way the bass is weak on fortes. If all that is good, move them closer to the back wall or your position closer to the opposite back wall.

Thanks. LA scalas deal went south. Guy raised his price on me from what we had agreed and decided he wouldn't deliver. Yeah I think so. I'm gonna try to make these Forte III work. They are the largest heritage model that makes sense in my room. After more time with positioning, I'm liking them a lot more. That mod horn is no joke on them.
  19. I'll agree with that. The face that they are massive speakers and take up valuable floor space is more than likely the issue especially at their price point. Those that know heritage series love it and stick with it. Problem is getting to know the line in the first place (usually through someone else in my experience) as you mentioned.
  20. I think you two may have convinced me to keep these guys after all. What a difference. Thanks again.
  21. Well the choice of selective posts certainly add to the experience on here from what I have seen lately.
  22. Immediately I can tell @dbomberger and @Shakeydeal are correct. 18 inches from back wall and firing dead ahead has MUCH improved the sound. These Forte III is so much more sensitive to tiny adjustments than any other klipsch speaker I have owned. Thanks guys. I wouldnt have thought to fire a klipsch horn speaker straight ahead. I have often down that with other brands of speakers with great results. Dalis love that.
