  1. I stand corrected, Thank you. it's the 5.3 that's closer to the old 327 small block chevy
  2. I have the 4.8 - it's about 327 ci - that's all I could find when I was looking, considering the prices, my civic was totaled out front of my house overnight after Christmas a couple of year's ago. I got the lowest mile truck I could find based on my insurance check. The first month I had it, the PRNDL light disappeared, that first spring, I got hit with hail, over the summer, the a/c diverted valve went haywire, I went to see a movie and someone stole my JVC radio I had installed, the tailgate handle broke once lol... it's an extended cab, one of those door handles broke too, alternator went out once, water pump expired, had to get a new serpentine belt too, both heater core line's started leaking at the firewall, glove box handle broke, when I had it re-painted for a hail claim, it looked like a new truck, then I found three door dings in the passenger door, down to the primer lol, oh yeah, I replaced the battery, put a new windshield washer bottle in there with a new pump, had my driver seat reupholstered, and the trailer hitch fell off last week, I think someone tried to steel it, and left one bolt. now this dang engine light... I'm going to find out why it's knocking before I replace the sensor. I found the leaking heater hoses after I got a code on the dash light saying my number 8 coil was out. Thank Heavens Auto Zone read's the codes for free, but I won't buy another part again without taking the expired part off first, because that drip leak made the new coil go out. I'm pretty sure something else will break soon, but it still feel's like a new truck to me, I like working on old chevy's. Oh yeah, I didn't like my Silverado sitting lower than my neighbors F-150, so I found a 2 inch front lift kit. I returned to the shop and had them remove the dang things, because it was weird bouncing down the street. Ended up buying new shocks too, kept those. I drive carefully. I would of rather had a 5.3, but read where the 4.8 had the same bore, just a shorter stroke...
  3. my check engine light came back on, after I reset it two weeks ago, the code said it was the knock sensor after I looked up the number. I thought premium gas would fix it, but it seems the GM engineers thought it was a better idea to take off the top half of the engine so they put it under the LS intake assemble. I always wanted to put a supercharger on my Silverado... I think that time is near.... Is nearer a word for do gooders lol
  4. … here's two lol, my 49 nash airflyte with a flathead 6, my daily driver in the early 2000's with a backseat that folded down to a double bed - I sold it to a guy who complained about the brakes, nevertheless, I saw this out at the Goodguys show racing it around the cone's about 5 year's later, I'll swear that' was my old car, sans the wax, I remember the fender scratches lol.... looked like he didn't change a thing, .... I'm pretty sure the guy in the passenger seat needed a coffee to sober up afterwards lol
  5. the see-saw between oil can cap's and plastic barrel sonicap's isn't unforeseen, having ceramic or titanium tweeters, milled z brackets replacements, rectangle or oval lenses (I can type those words easier than the misspelling of the correct terminology lol) and best of all, screws and experiments are just about in the pockets of everyone. But if the lenses had ferroliquid cooling channels, indeed, for whatever reason was imagined, or an electrical wing directional flapper, at some point in time, somebody would be lost, and want to install the original whatever....
  6. is that k-horn on a shelf, with a custom false corner ? I mean, there's lot's of black in the photograph too, the unknowns rustle up the imagination ya know...
  7. or, just rearrange your couch to the opposite wall, and put two tree's in there for dispersion, along with some new pnoe's and/or just enjoy what you have, it looks mighty fine. There are console options for consideration, record rack's could create new corners, or simply a bowl of fruit for flavor... (it worked for Jimi)
  8. 1. Historical Perspective of media - (in my own words) … phase 1 - for cave dwellings, cave painting, art, existence, make better tool's, round wheel's, more people, disagreements between people, use the wind to power sail's, bow's and arrow's, rule's and law's, morse code translators, newspapers, inventions, electricity, television, speakers, an era of relief and excitement, nice black model T's, big tanks and bomb's, civilized record players, bigger concerts, avocado colored refrigerators, dos, punch card's, windows 3.1, icq, dial up modem's, exit phase 1, over and out....
  9. been watchin it for 2 months, was at $800, now $500 - only 2 miles away....
  10. east texas tuner, ernest tubs troubadours, or the initials of my first 1st grandson, or an old nickname from the 70's, or a selection not taken by anyone in Texas yet lol, and last but not least, Gus in Lonesome Dove borrowed it for the movie....
  11. under the design process tab, is this picture - I'm thinking those aren't fuses....
  12. for the mwm; does functional equate to decent old wood, or speakers in there, worked last time Deep Purple used them ?
  13. I'm going to have to get a pic of my special plates in the morning, I tried to get a snapshot and the reflection wipes it out tonight... chalkin' that up to the full moon cause the neighbors came out front too, as I was standing behind a bush to keep outta the street... lol.
  14. Carry on with the original K79 concept... you are so correct in the cost and design factors, time is invisible to the curious... and for one, thank you for pointing out the detail's and by the way too, keep up the good work !!!
  15. russlin' up my screensaver here... the Klipschorn hauler
  16. impressions of the page 2 bar chart (the regular one is best) column's should be wider, since the numerals are 3 digits if the background color is a changeable option - try gray thoughts on humankind scaling for low, medium and high - (sounds like a report card) - How about didn't or done ?
  17. reminds me of a time, when my two dollar hammer with a wood handle and an idle hot solder gun lay waiting for an upgrade, thus ensued the initial installation of my initials on the handle (MC) …. I've bought at least a dozen hammers over the course of 50 year's, but that was only one that someone took without askin' … and never returned... and it still crosses my mind in the smoldering steam of my mr coffee contraption
  18. that's also a dashboard view of mcCafe ground premium roast lol
