Haha; think I'm buying a pair of RC-7's Found one locally and made an offer on another one on FleaBay.

Thanks. Definitely want the "bigger" RC7 horn. Just checked the RC7 specs and don't quite understand ... xovers at 500 and 1950Hz on identical (?) woofers? Meaning one gets freqs below 500Hz and the other one 500-1950Hz? Cheers, Emile

Haha; have an alternative?
-
OK; strange idea ... was looking for a pair of RC-7's, but they seem to be just about impossible to find So; came across a pair of RF-5's ... but need to place them horizontal to fit my space ... AND CUT OFF the bottom To better understand my problem, see Seems like I could chop off the RF-5's to about 29". Have no clue if this is possible and where the crossovers are located in the box Yes; volume won't be the same so I would probably loose some bass. Alternative is to buy RF-5's for the woofers/tweeter (or other model ???) and just build a new box. Any suggestions? Cheers, Emile

WOW ... he is "giving these away!" If I had room for these I'd gladly pay $3000

Have 3-way Heresy's and Cornwall's. Also 2-way CF-3's and KPT-904's. Find it impossible to make a comparison of 2 vs 3-way as all these speakers sound completely different with different crossover frequencies. But, prefer my 904's with large horns (xover at 800Hz or at 620Hz active). However, this is probably not obtainable with "smaller" residential speakers.

No; not yet. Will buy a 1 yard section from him if I need to; haha 10x more than I need ... just thought many people would have "leftovers." -
Haha; think you were right See my post

Thanks; great to hear Had several responses to my question, but (as this is a Klipsch forum) the usual response was "cannot beat K510's. Looking forward to setting up my JBL HF section Cheers, Emile
-
Haha; now I understand Thanks for the detailed pics on the HF bracket. Finally understand ho to rig up my new JBL 2384 horns BTW, how would you compare these to K510's (as I believe you have a set of those also).. Thanks, Emile PS: GLWS; worth every penny. You may want to add what drivers are in the HF section.

Credit score took a BIIIIGG hit and I don't know why

Haha; same here Always was around 800 and now it came down the last several months to 730 And we pay in full every month. One possible explanation (???) is large/many purchases on a single card; say up to 50% of the card limit. No clue why, but read it somewhere -
Yes, but ... think most people use DSP's with 24dB slopes. Now; my KPT-904's are specced with a passive 24dB xover set at 800Hz. But for "active" they are specced at 630. ????
-
Quoted from a PM ... Active (DSP) crossovers can control the amplifiers much better than passives, and at the same time, don't have to absorb all the excess power that the amplifiers are putting out to balance the drivers/horns ("ways") to each other. Anyone?
-
Yes, but I know 402's are better ... just do not have enough space for them so trying an alternative
-
Think they are on a dial-up line

I have no clue Why are speakers specified with a lower ACTIVE crossover frequency vs a passive? I am (again) looking at changing my K510's on my KPT-904's. 904 specs say crossed at 800/820Hz (HF/LF) with a 24dB Linkwitz slope ... and another document states 900/920 (???). However, it also states 630Hz for an active crossover. Why oh why? Another example is the JBL 4722/4722N. The active version states 630Hz whereas the passive is crossed at 800Hz??? Was specifically looking at the JBL one as I'm trying to use the HF section (JBL 2384 horn with JBL 2451H driver) as a replacement for my K510. Horn is 30 x 15 inch ... haha; bigger must be better Appreciate you input. Cheers, Emile

OK; bought a pair off FleaBay. Going to try them with 30x15" JBL 2384 horns Will report on these vs the K510/K691 horns.

Haha; did you buy them yet?
-
Yeah; same here - KPT-904/K510/DE75's 99% sure these 2446H's will fit your K510 horn (standard 4" bolt pattern). But ... also have 2446H drivers on JBL 2385 horns. Better? Possibly Significant upgrade? Nah
-
Anyone? Prefer the "H" version - 8 ohms. Screwing around with horns again JBL has a nice horn (about 30x18"), i.e. the JBL2384 with a 1-1/2" exit. Of course I only have 2" CD's so found a single JBL2451 on fleabay ... need a pair Thanks, Emile
