  1. I assume you meant to ask if the Axi2050 upgrade was still worth doing for someone with a set of the Underground Jubilee (as anyone with Heritage Jubilee already have Axi2050 🙂). If so, I would say that it is probably worth doing. While the Axi would still beam at high frequencies without Roy's external phase plug, you would get better high frequency extension on-axis similar to those who switched their UG Jubilee to TAD HF drivers. With the Axi in particular, you could maybe a bit better integration with the bass bin with a low crossover point too.
  2. It has both and a switch to select which is in use.
  3. @Travis In Austin - Your timeline is one year off. The first official announcement was at CES 2021. No production samples existed at that time. There was just the video with CG renderings. The last JubFest was in October 2021 where we got to hear the first production prototypes. For CES 2022, they did bring at least one speaker from the production prototype pair to the show. However, the Klipsch booth was a long winding corridor for some reason (video walkthrough of the booth for Crutchfield below). So, there would have been really no good way to listen at CES 2022.
  4. You mean something like my portable speaker testing kit that I take with me when I buy speakers for local pickup? 😁 I also use it with some stand-mounted AW-650 for a take-anywhere party system.
  5. I don't think they actually had them hooked up for listening at CES 2022.
  6. I have Heritage Jubilee, a Belle center, and La Scala surrounds in a 13' x 17' room. Don't sweat it. 🙂
  7. This new one will look a lot nicer than the old Dope from Hope binder that I have.
  8. Yes, you back the Kickstarter campain by selecting one of the "Back this project" options like pledging with a "reward" from the available options of a Bullshit pin, a one year KMAH membership, 1,2, or 5 copies of the book, or the Dope From Hope Tour for Two; or you can pledge without a reward.
  9. Sold! 🙂 I purchased it for the same reason. I'm buying this as a spare for the one currently in my Jubilee system. The Oppo 103/105 models were the last ones that supported decoding of HDCD-encoded CDs. Since I have a decent number of them, I want to have a backup player just in case the current one goes belly up.
  10. I don't understand why you would use center speakers in a place where you could place floor-standing towers. Horizontal center speakers are compromises for places where you can't place a vertical speaker that's identical to your main left and right speakers. There is a reason why the designs of vertical towers and horizontal center speakers are different. If you plan on using an acoustically transparent screen, use three matching tower speakers.
  11. That would be a great opportunity to listen to them, exactly the way we heard them at the last JubFest. You're not going to find a more ideal setup than that. Also, if Roy is running the show that day, it will be a great opportunity to ask questions.
  12. This thread has meandered a bit, so I thought I would try to clarify things. First, let me make sure we're clear about the scenario. @diamonddelts, let me know if I've got this wrong. You are moving to a new home. The question is whether you should purchase new Heritage Jubilee (and presumably sell or repurpose the UG Jubilee) or upgrade the existing 3-way UG Jubilee (with existing horn subs) instead. If this is the case, I can see the cost advantage of trying to leverage the value of your current investment. Trying Celestion Axi2050 on the existing Jubes is a relatively low risk option since I'd think you would have no trouble selling the drivers if you didn't like the results. (Of course, that means waiting until they are back in stock at Parts Express. Been there.) Maybe just go ahead and try it. As I suggested before if you do this, go to a 2-way configuration. This has the advantage of removing a crossover point and makes the speaker a practical point source from the bass bin crossover point on up. The Axi2050 is more than capable of response to 20 kHz and a little beyond. In any case, with the Axi2050 you could likely lower that crossover point as well to get the K-402 and bass bin polars a better match at that point. However, understand that replacing the existing compression driver with the Axi2050 means that you will have to reprogram the DSP. You could try Chris A's settings from this thread to start with and tweak from there (https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/199267-celestion-axi2050-2-compression-driver-on-k-402-horn-and-jubilee-bass-bin/). However, only by finding some place to hear the Heritage Jubilee would you be able to decide if the results that you get are "close enough" compared to buying new Jubilee. As stated before, this only gets you improved HF on-axis performance and maybe a bit better integration with the bass bin with a low crossover point. It gets you none of the reduction in HF beaming due to the new wide dispersion phase plug. More importantly, it gets you none of the amazing magic of the new bass bin. There's something magical about reproduction from 18 Hz to 20 kHz from only two sources in the room with amazingly consistent polars throughout and only a single crossover point in that entire range. I don't think even well integrated subs would match it. You definitely need to experience it before making a final conclusion. I'm amazed every time I fire up my Heritage Jubes.
  13. Maybe, but it would not be the first. I know of at least two all Underground Jubilee 5.1 setups.
  14. If only I had a bigger room, I could replace the center and surrounds in my Heritage Jubilee setup with these.
  15. Only the KV-4 was really designed to match the Epic series. It was the only one with a similar horn and compression driver to the Epic series. The rest seem like mostly matches for later KG series. I owned a KG 2.2V (video shielded version) for a while. I also still own KG .5, kg1, and kg2. I don't think the tweeter in the KG 2.2 is good match for the dhorm tweeter in the kg2. The KV-1 has a dhorm tweeter and should be a better match.
  16. I just noticed that the column with the labels for each spec was not included in the clip from the Legend Series brochure above. Here are the same specs from the Synergy Premiere brochure.
  17. Specs are below. Pricing can vary from around $250 - $400 per pair depending on condition. The pair in the eBay listing I provided was $400.
  18. If it is Klipsch wide dispersion surround speakers under discussion here and if they were current product at around the same time as the Legend (KLF) Series, then my guess is that they were KSP-S6 (https://www.klipsch.com/products/ksp-s6-surround-speaker). These were the recommended surround speakers for the Legend Series and were some of the best surrounds that Klipsch ever made. There were even sold in the cinema line for a time. If you want these exact speakers, then you will have to find them on the used market. They do come up for sale used with some regularity. I used a HiFi Shark saved search to find them when I was looking for some a while back. There is one pair available on eBay right now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/165914742505. The seller has the wrong model designation in the listing title. I messaged him to correct it. If you want current product with a warranty, then look at the Klipsch Reference Premier surround speakers.
  19. It looks fine to me. The only other option is to replace the equipment stand with one that could accommodate the speaker in it. We specifically bought this monstrous piece of furniture specifically because it could hold a vertical center speaker under the TV. (This was back in the early days of home theater when CRT TVs were still a thing and we thought that the 35 inch TV we had was huge. 🙂) I had an Academy in there vertically for a short time. I traded it in for a single Heresy II. Now that room has a Palladium setup and I have a single P-17B there.
  20. Yes, I'm using the amp that @Paducah Home Theater recommended for the Jubilee, the Cyrus Stereo 200. I have four of them for the 5.0 setup, two for the Jubilee, one for the center speaker (a two-way speaker with DSP crossover and an Axi2050 HF driver), and one for the La Scala AL5 surrounds.
  21. I haven't heard the 3-way original Jubilee, but I can tell you that the Heritage Jubilee is much better in the higher frequencies than the 2-way Underground Jubilee. Once the K-402/Axi2050 combination is eq'd flat, the response goes out to 20 kHz and beyond. In fact, if you are going to use the Axi2050, I suggest that you try it 2-way. That has the advantage of removing a crossover point and making the speaker close to a point source until it crosses with the bass bin. (Either way you can also lower the crossover point with the bass bin to get the polars to better match at that point.)
  22. You basically have to see posts like this minutes after they are posted. It's the only reason I got the Fastlane Fastrac horns for La Scala last week. I saw this one ten minutes too late. 😢
  23. My issue with using any of the KG ".2" or ".5" series speakers (except the kg .5) with the kg2 is that in my experience, the tweeters in those are not a sonic match for the dhorm tweeters in the kg2. I had a KG 2.2 V for a while. I didn't think that tweeter sounded like the kg2 tweeter (which were the first Klipsch speakers I ever purchased).
  24. Also, the kg1 and kg .5 are the smaller bookshelf speakers that also had the Dhorm tweeter if you are looking for smaller surrounds. I think that covers all the main line models that Klipsch released with a Dhorm tweeter. There were also two Tangent branded speakers with that tweeter (one that looked like a rebranded kg .5 and a center speaker) but those had cheaper cabinets and are rare since there were sold on military bases.
