If you don't know how to do this, just ask and some kind soul will help ---------------- Ok kind soul. The only pix that I have posted were bigger than Dallas. Help tc

Use about 30 screws and be shure to miss the mid driver. Use 1"x1" hardwood and screw it across the motor board (inside) just below the tweeter. I used 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 steel angle. Do not allow it to touch the sides. Enjoy the slam!
  8. Flynn, I was being a little sarcastic. I take my kids interest in the system as a compliment and a "well done" as a parent. I get great pleasure from the fact that they know the difference between Klipsch & Bose. I feel as though I did a good job as a parent. They are both deaf...But I did a good job. They love "Hot Rats" and always request "Machine Gun". What else could a father ask for? tc
  9. Nice sketch. Is that 3-D Design CAD or Auto CAD? Need more low end punch? Quick fix. Try four Cornwalls. tc

These mega wattage systems are all about bass, overblown, unaccurate, boomy as hell mindless bass. My Klipsch system can hit over 120dB at listening position(quad RF7's,RC7,RF5)five subwoofers(RSW and Sunfire)all in a 14*10' room!Dual ATI amps (1505 and 2505).Nobody can enjoy this system near the output limits, your hearing will be damaged and ruined if you listen for too long at max SPL. My subsonic army of subs can belt way over 120dB at 30Hz and more then anyone would like at 16Hz. Also anyone could build a custom room filled with pro amps and Tumults and peg the dB meter at over 150dB.For what reason? None other then show off And again no quality,or musicality just dumb FAT BASS,liver destroyer supreme. Ear, I love messing with the kids at stop lights. '98 F-250 extended cab. 4 Klipsch Mod-H strapped in the jump seats. 2 100wpc Rockford amps under the seats. When I hear that "one note sound", I run up the volume a bit. If we are going to destroy our livers, lets do it with quality. tc ----------------
  12. Kids? Teenagers are Gods punishment for enjoying sex. My 30 year old daughter and 22 year old son are already squabbling over who gets the stereo system when I'm gone! The little Vultures. I intend to be dismembered and be buried in the 4 CWs. Who said "you can't take it with you"? tc

Tung oil over my oiled walnut CWs was a monumental mistake! Andy Builder tells me that I will have to take them all the way down to bare wood to get rid of this too shiny junk. tc

  17. I had some friends in the late 70's who furnished their home in "art decco" (sp?) The 2 unfinished La's were covered in stark white counter top material with OEM black grill cloth over mid & tweet. Not my style, but striking. tc

  20. ---------------- On 4/30/2003 2:07:24 PM TBrennan wrote: Colin---While your opinion is as good as any you commit some factual error. The Cornwalls reviewd on the Belgian site are not typical of the majority of Cornwalls. They are the late model Cornwall IIs which use completely different treble drivers than most CWs; using the "hepner" integrated mid driver-horn and an improved tweeter which is signifigantly flatter and more extended than the EV T-35 used in earlier CWs. Also, to hit peaks of 20db over the 1 watt listening level would take about 120 watts, not counting for speaker compression; hardly a "handful". I doubt that the speaker can reach peaks of 30db over the 1 watt level, 2024 watts would be needed to do so IF the speaker didn't compress and IF the speaker could handle the power and neither is the case. Even high efficiency, high output speakers need lots of power for optimal dynamics, that's why I used 200 wpc with my LaScalas. Low powered tube amps will compromise dynamics, let there be no doubt of that. But we pick what compromises we can live with. ---------------- Tom, A fellow POWER ADVOCATE? I don't beleve it. Is "headroom" a thing of the past? I use two Luxman M-117s in BTL @ 420wpc to power four CWs . Love the warm "tubie" sound of the Lux SS. No clips with 300w of headroom. The first 100w is wonderful.
