  1. "Audiophile whatever" (320 mpg from Greece) if/when I do.
  2. That's with an atmos signal (whether "native" or derived) which is not the same as merely paralleling the two-channel signal to those drivers with a two-channel amp, which is what I was talking about. Because I got the sense that was the nature of the question (else why the question?).
  3. Post up the dimensions of both, I'll do the cipherin'.
  4. [Hum] Sounds like one or more bad supply filter capacitor. Simple repair if so.
  5. A chromecast device can do standard DLNA, right? How about Apple stuff, they haven't completely thrown all the standards out the window, have they?
  6. It'll give a false sense of spaciousness along with changing frequency response as you move about the room. There'll be reenforcement and cancellation from one foot to the next at various frequencies. Not a problem with atmos info because it's not direct, across-the-board duplication of sound like if you merely paralleled the two-channel signal. If you've got the cash and plan to go atmos at some point, go ahead now, otherwise I wouldn't (in any event 'cause I don't give a hoot about "home theater"). Bose (in)famously splashes sound around. Some folks dig it.
  7. Unless you wire them in parallel on your stereo amp. At least you'd have the option that way, but for that purpose only I'd save my money on the standard model. I'm not a fan of splashing sound around the room.
  8. What's the smallest container size of the product you can buy for a test of your idea? It sure sounds like it would work, though 1:1 might not be exactly what you end up using.
  9. Thank you for providing that information. It's really interesting and totally new to me. I'm going to research further - I like the idea very much.
  10. That would net you the values given. Whether they're actually correct for what you need is another question in itself. What?
  11. How about sending the drivers out for repair? Surely someone can rebuild them to at least close-enough.
  12. Haha! Mac stuff is "Mac stupid" as I found out earlier today trying to transfer photos I took to my boy's I-phone. No can do using industry-standard methods.
  13. Not where who'd want to end up? "Entry level" would be fine by me if I were ever inclined to step back to vinyl.
  14. I'd be reluctant to drop 1300 on a turntable (unless maybe that included a good cartridge as well) but I've never been a fan of Pioneer, either. Though I've got no opinions or recommendations otherwise I wish you well in your endeavor.
  15. The Best of Audio Vol. IV "Display until Feb. 23, 1990" says: (35-17k +/- 5) (orig. pub. 11/86) "The low -frequency horn is substantially exponential in its expansion rate and thus would have an acoustic path length of about 8 feet if unfolded." I'll try to attach the PDF as I don't remember where to find the URL. It's >10 MB. I'll either pare it down or find the URL. In a bit... https://americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Audio/80s/Audio-Best-Of-Vol-IV.pdf
  16. Until he gets the pics up, they were raw with mesh over the woofers (pro? it looked original), a tad beat up. I thought the price was a little high, for me.
  17. Haven't yet read the link but have no problem believing the possibilities. After all, two paths always creates problems in ways, whether they're combined internally or not.
  18. Get a https://www.schiit.com/products/mani and you can play around with different types of cartridges by merely flipping switches on the bottom of the unit.
  19. It is bifurcated, it's also recombined.
  20. I'm guessing (hoping?) he's taking this in a MM/MC direction...
  21. Hang some grille cloth in front of it.
  22. Greater torque while at speed would be more desirable if they give that rating. Less startup torque could very well be better if it's because of "soft start" motor control.
