  1. I was a DJ for the local radio station back when I was a teenager. Man that was a long time ago. Lots of fun though. I had worked there a couple of weeks when the station manager surprised me with a check. I had never discussed money with them. I could not imagine having that much fun and getting paid for it too!! Bob Crites
  2. Saying that does not hurt the standard at all. I would expect 16 AWG gold or silver to sound the same as the 16 AWG copper and therefore be acceptable.
  3. Yes, I do think there could be audible differences. But, we have a standard of perfection. That would be plain old ordinary 16 AWG zip cord. First listen with the zip cord. Then listen with any other cable of any price or type. If they sound different from the reference zip cord, they are bad. Easy test. Bob Crites
  4. Are we talking about Chorus 1 or Chorus 2? Those crossovers do have differences. The schematic posted is for the Chorus 2.
  5. Thanks guys. I did make a "New Granddaughter" announcement in this section of the forum back on Dec 29. Hannah is doing fine. She will be a week old on Sunday.
  6. One more picture. This is Hannah being introduced to her big brother Levi. Bob Crites
  7. She was due to arrive in about a week from now. Perhaps Michael explained to her how income tax deductions work.
  8. She was born this morning at 7:53, weighing in at 6 lbs 14 oz. Hannah Elizabeth Crites seems perfect in every way. Baby Hannah, mom Amy and dad Michael and big brother Levi Crites are all doing fine. Grandpa and Grandma Crites are a bit tired having missed some sleep last night. Bob Crites
  9. I would like to talk to you about these. Bob Crites bobcrites@mac.com
  10. JBL (actually parent company Harmon) bought Selenium a few years ago. I don't know if any production sharing is going on.
  11. I think a Selenium D405 should do all right at 300hz on the right horn.
  12. I do not have now, nor have I ever had any Ti mid-range diaphragms for the Quartet or any other Klipsch speaker. Bob Crites
  13. Wow, diet coke all over my keyboard. Now that was funny Dean.
  14. Here is the schematic for the KG-2.5. Not sure this the only version of that crossovers since this one is called the KG-2.5B schematic. Bob Crites KG-2.5 B network schematic.pdf

    New Car Shopping

I actually wanted a Chrysler 300 C. Just could not find one with the equipment I wanted. Of course, the charger and Chrysler 300 are the same car. Just different sheet metal.

I bought all of it. Up to and including the heated and cooled cup holders.

Yeah, there is a Hemi in it. They did not make that Hemi badge real easy to see. Perhaps that helps with the LEO attraction problem.

Chargers are nice, but having grown up with '68-'69 Chargers as 2-doors, a 4-door Charter just never sat right with me. Come to think of it, why are there so few coupes available at all any more? What you want is the Challenger. About the same car as the Charger, but is a 2-door.

OK, I am back from car shopping. Got that job done. 2014 Dodge Charger RT Max is in the place previously occupied by the Lincoln Town Car.

Well, time to go look for a new car. My 2007 Lincoln Town Car is dirty, probably will need a battery this winter since it is almost 7 years old and it has 36,000 miles on it. Probably the best car I have ever owned. So, they don't make the Town Car any more or I would probably buy another one. Going shopping today, not sure what to buy.
  21. Sure Dean. Give me a call. Bob Crites
  22. The screws are steel plated with nickel over copper flash.

  24. No, I would not remove it. I had a driver with a damaged cone, so cut out the dust cap to see what the horn looked like. By the way, the dust cap is fabric. I am guessing it is acoustically transparent.
  25. They sound pretty good for small speakers. Bass is not much as you would expect. However, something that surprised me, is that the bass is there down to about 40hz. It rolls off below about 150hz, but is still present, just about 5 to 7 db down all the way down to 40hz. So, a little bass boost below 150hz does something amazing to the sound of these. If you are one of those who like to see FR curves, here is the on axis FR on this speaker without the above mentioned bass boost.
