  1. Well Shoe,by the time my 2900 gets here I hope you have got it all figured out.
  2. I suppose it may be too late but, a light switch is easy to move(up or down) if anyone else has this problem.
  3. Tom Nousaine,in the lab,quote.."RSW 15 is one of the best measuring subwoofers we've seen,it went all the way down to 16 hz.This was in a 7500 cf room,in smaller rooms users can expect 2 to 3 hz deeper extension".May 2002 sound and vision. Is this guy(T.N.) a crackpot or what,I love my rsw15,it does all I'd ever need.
  4. I hope you live in the out in the country side! You will not be able to resist crankin'up the 7's,enjoy!
  5. If you would like to see if any of your favorite artist have dvd audio release, try a search on ebay or yahoo.Otherwise Doobie Bros,Deep Purple,Frank Zappa and some of the others mentioned are very good.
  6. Sorry fini, next time I will completely finish my experiments before making them public.
  7. Thanks for the tip,Joe is one of the greatest guitarist ever.I own all he's ever put out on cd or video up till now.
  8. I just wanted to clarify my Klipsch, not planar or electrostats,in the corner theory. You don't need to saw the back off at two 45 degree angles and cram them in the corner. The corner area that produces the best overall sound was my point.
  9. I know this has been discussed here before but I wanted to say once more what a huge difference it makes when you put Klipschs in the corner. When I first got my rf7's I did NOT put them in the corner,BIG mistake.I put them where they fit and looked the best.I have always put my speakers in the corners in the past but wanted to try something different. The result was making my 7's sound like rb5's,although they still sounded better than the 2k previous set. When I moved the first speaker to the corner it was like a new speaker system, the difference is really incredible.Like I said its been discussed many times but it took me over a year to get off my butt and do it(new cables etc..).So if you ain't gettin'blasted with killer sound, bass from your mains,go to the corner, its saving me a fortune in upgrades!
  10. Very humorous!30's need more bass? You MUST need a new avr/amp.Are they in the corners?I have the rf7's and they have lotsa bass,I can turn my rsw 15 off and they still have loads of lows.I can unhook one speaker and still have enormous bass output, but only when in the corners.
  11. Happy birthday to you,Happy birthday to you,Happy birthday dear Klipchhead,Happy birthday to you!
  12. Wise decision m00n,buy floor models only when saving 2o% or more off street price, getting a warranty, and the product looks good.
  13. Hey Scott, just wanted to ask if you have your 7's in the corners?
  14. If you like vinyl thats great,I have heard vinyl on 30k turntables.DVD-A AND SACD are not "gimmicks",if you think they are like some Yamaha DSP you are mistaken.I don't sell either so it don't matter to me,but either sounds just as good as that 30k turtable, imo.
  15. This is not a good idea, the beauty of the wood man!BUT,only if you must,I would have a professional prepare surface and spray them with a good oil base enamel.
  16. I'm with m00n on the sub(rsw12/15) with the 7's,they will do nicely by themselves, but why?I listen to 70% 2ch music,20% multi ch,the 7's sound great. The only way to make them sound bad is with a bad source. The other Klipsch sound great also, personal preference takes over here.
  17. I got 7's and love em',the 30's,they're great too.My son thinks the 7's are too refined,he prefers the 30's "all out rage".
  18. I have owned or auditioned most multi players, they all had some minor(some not minor) thing that bugged me.This player has addressed my issues at CES,and in print, soon the ultimate test.I ordered this unit today and will have it(maybe) in early May.I will try to give an objective review.
  19. Most etailers offer at least a one year warranty. Some match factory, check their reputation, most have a rating system.
  20. Thanks guys, thats actually not the same one but it was pretty cool. The one I saw,a few years back, was what looked like about a 2 story deep basement or cave.
  21. How about if you put one calibrated sub in the corner and its not at all musical? Then you put a rsw 12/15 calibrated in that same corner and it sounds fantastic, loud and clear. You send the NON musical sub back and say thanks for the $45.00 trial.
  22. I was looking at different subs a while back and found a really wild website. This guy was a speaker builder and turned his basement into a gigantic sub.He used cocrete, wire and stucco to shape giant horns. If any of you have seen this and remember the sites address please let me know.thanks
  23. Most any 1k avr will sound good,I have the 3803 with reference 7's and they are a very good match. It really comes down to you,I tried several under 1500.00,the Denon was an easy 1k choice for me. Good Luck.
