(RMB-1075) I started with the RMB-1075, it was nice but I found that it was lacking on both ends of the spectrum. Just a little bit better sounding then my Yamaha AVR. So I returned it and moved up to the RMB-1095, oh what a difference. The RMB-1095 is a great amp delivering a nice neutral sound across the spectrum. It challenges the previously mentioned amps, B & K etc. and is value priced. Can't comment on Rotel Receviers. Did hear a B&K 307 AVR with RF-7's, sounded nice but in the end went with seperates. I endorsed this message and I do own: Rotel RSP-1066 Rotel RMB-1095 Klipsch RF-7, RC-7, RS-7, RSW-15
  2. Finally purchased RUSH IN RIO. Simply one great concert from Tom Sawyer through Working Man.
  3. 7.5K and no wait. That sounds like dream for some lucky person, not me of course. Where was the offer last year when I started building my system??? Ha! Ha! Good luck on the sale, I sure someone will pick them up. Rob
  4. Gary, Another consideration would be to go with the Ref Series, but also get a RSW-15. I've had mine for about a month. I find that movies and music both sound and blend much better. Goodluck with your decision. Don't get caught up in the "mines bigger then yours." Go with what works best for your situation. ROB
  5. First test was a disappointment, getting serious feedback. My new Sub-cable has a broken connection. Tested system with a different cable, worked great! However it is to short to remain in the system. So I will have to wait until a replacement cable gets delivered. Ear, I can assure you that the BOUM BOUM department is already taken care of by my wife. Even the High Heels. LOL!!!
  6. Got a call, my RSW-15 has arrived. Going to pick it up after work. Everything is nailed down. The neighbors will be warned. Can't wait to hear it in my system. Rob
  7. Congrats JM, It is always nice to succeed in our endeavors to better ourselves. (Too much Star Trek). Rob
  8. Same problem when I went from a Rotel RMB-1075 to the big guy, RMB-1095. Had to use the trusty(????) cheater plug.
  9. Go with a RSW-15, Mine is on the way. Probably on a cargo ship between L.A. and Honolulu. The wait is killing me. Rob
  10. Today's EQ pretty much suck, IMO. We now have pre-programed eq's already within our systems. For instance next to DP II we have rock, jazz, hall, music 1, music 2 etc. I would look on ebay for a DBX or ADC eq from the Eighties. Not sure of model numbers. I guess I am dating myself.
  11. CO1 "BARBARIAN", I will be building a new system near the begining of November. I seem to be undetermined on what Hard Drive to get. The 2 X raptor Raid 0 or just get a 120 gig seagate or WD. The 72 gig I would get from the raptors would do me just fine. I will not be overclocking, just want a fast stable platform. Thanks for the response. Rob
  12. CO1, Checking out your sig block. How do you like the Raptor? Performance, Heat and Sound??? Thanks, Rob P.S. Sub in route - due in anytime.
  13. I use a ADCOM ACE-615. Agreeing with the others, don't go overboard on a expensive Monster Power setup.
  14. RSW-15 on its way! Thanks for all the info and suggestions from the forum. Rob
  15. 1. Starting Topic - "Has he swept you in yet? VP of marketing and BS? hwatkins is AVP of marketing and BS. The fanboy loves his big SVS cylinders more than he loves himself! Gross! "SVS rules the world, all others bow down. No one else is worthy". "TheEAR is our messiah. If you don't follow him you are a traitor". 2. "When you get your RSW15 just pop in the Lord of the Rings DVD and play the cave scene full blast. She will know why YOU NEED a subwoofer. "Lord of the Rings has the most incredible sub bass energy of any movie to date, not just dumb ME TOO explosions. But a rich pallet of deep and furious sub bass that will SHAKE THE LIVING HELL out of anyone with the proper sub bass armada." ---A Post from theears (In defense of the statement that theears always pushes SVS) --SVS is where?? (In the above statement) 3. "SVS is where??" In homes of people who never heard Aerial,Velodyne HGS18 and Revel B15's LOL Trust me with all the SVS talk I can clearly see you people never heard competent non SVS subs.Sad I like SVS too but its not the only pick, there are many others.---A Post from theears. 4. Try again theears!

  17. Initially had the RMB-1075, not a bad amp for the price and was a step up from my old yamaha receiver. Went with the RMB-1095, soundstage and clarity throughout the frequency range improved. Rob
