  1. I did not know that. I just assumed he was either an electrical or computer engineer. I guess we know what that makes me. Surrounding himself with the right people may be more important than his own technical abilities.
  2. I used Thompson's a few years ago and was very happy with it. That was probably eight years ago, so may have been before the chemistry changes. If you're working with a relatively small area, it may still be worth a try. I used a Rust-oleum epoxy product on my garage and shop and loved it, but it is maybe more pricey and more complicated than what you need. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Rust-Oleum-RockSolid-2-part-Dark-Gray-Gloss-Garage-Floor-Polycuramine-Kit-Actual-Net-Contents-152-fl-oz/1000201199?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-pnt-_-ggl-_-LIA_PNT_220_Exterior-Stain-Specialty-_-1000201199-_-local-_-0-_-0&ds_rl=1286981&gclid=CjwKCAjw9LSSBhBsEiwAKtf0nwPZWdlqsGlNGK9LqdT5z5m55e8ey5xuBZmWOl9Gk_rdjGAIDcHZHhoCsM8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  3. They look like old Cerwin Vegas to me.
  4. My comment was not meant to denigrate Mr. Musk at all. I know he is a brilliant engineer, but he hasn't done anything in the audio world that I know of. I just thought others might know something about him that would shed some light on the OPs question.
  5. I know he has deep pockets, but does he really have anything else to offer?
  6. Still sounds like magic to me...LOL
  7. About twenty years ago, I was working in California and stopped in to what I think was a Fry's store. Some big box electronics store, anyway. To my surprise, they had a huge 5.1 home theater demo setup featuring four Klipshorns with probably a LaScalla for the center channel. They were showing the original Matrix and I think they may have looped it so the gunfight scene in the building with all the marble floors and columns was showing over and over. Standing in the middle of the space, the sounds of gunshots from every direction was pretty awesome. Even more so was the ping of the brass cartridges bouncing off the marble. Probably not a use PWK had in mind, but it sure was effective and probably sold more than a few speakers.
  8. As others have said, I encourage you to try the new Cornwalls with your existing amps for at least a few months. I predict you will be amazed at how good they sound. I'm driving my new Fortes with a 50 year old Marantz 1060 that has been recapped and it is great! I've also purchased an inexpensive Class D amp that I've been playing with. Each has it's own character, but I can't say one is better than the other...just different. Congratulations on the purchase, and welcome to the forums.
  9. I'm glad you've gotten it to work. I suspect every TV brand has a slightly different way of doing the set up. Congratulations!
  10. When I first bought the Node, I connected it to a Samsung. This time it is to a Sony. In both cases, it was the PCM setting that made it work. It is possible that there were other settings along the way that made a difference, but I don't really think so. Also, from what I've read, the cable is critical. I bought mine on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SQN12ZN?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
  11. Frustrating, isn't it? Sometimes you can find more complete information on the web than you can in the provided documentation, but even that can be challenging if they don't use the same terminology as the menus on the TV. I hope you find it worthwhile once you get it worked out.
  12. What is CEC? I'm running my TV through my Bluesound Node. I don't have to do anything special for settings on the Node, but had to set my TV to PCM audio output. I'm pretty sure I'm losing some of the audio features available through the TV, but the improvement in hearing dialog is worth it to me.
  13. The optical cable won't give you the ability to control everything with your TV remote, but you're probably right, and may even get better sound. And, yes, on mine, the eARC has to be set to auto.
  14. I just went through this a couple of hours ago with a new TV. When you say ARC, am I correct in thinking it is actually eARC and that both your TV and receiver have the feature? If so, make sure the audio output on your TV is set to PCM and make sure you are using an HDMI cable that is rated as High Speed. I just installed a Sony TV and had a hard time finding the proper menu item to set the audio output to PCM. Once I did that, though, everything worked great. The documentation supplied with the TV was absolutely worthless, and the information I found online gave direction using terminology that did not match anything in my TV menus. Such fun. Once you get it set up it will essentially let you control the volume of your audio system using your TV remote. At least, that's all I've ever been able to do with it.
  15. I've read the book twice and watched the TV series twice. LOVE IT!
  16. I will check out the AudioTool. Thank you for the suggestion.
  17. Does anyone have suggestions for a free or moderately priced audio spectrum analyzer for iOS? I realize you get what you pay for, but I'm just looking for a tool I can use to get a reasonably accurate read.
  18. If it was in my house, I would suspect a nosy grandchild with a lime popcicle.
  19. Is there a reason why wire jumpers would be superior to the metal bridges? Serious question. I've heard this before and wondered why one would be better than the other.
  20. Is the problem that your walls aren't far enough apart? 😄
  21. That is a good question. If it is a retailer, perhaps because they don't sell them. If they are people who have never heard Klipsch speakers with a Class D amp, I would have to say, ignorance. If they have listened to Klipsch speakers with a Class D amp, it may just not be a sound they like. It is a revealing sound and I happen to like that. I wasn't sure I would, so I bought a very inexpensive Class D amp (Aiyama A07) at the recommendation of another member who has been using them for a long time. It was $80 USD so I figured it was worth the risk to try it. Several others have purchased more sophisticated and expensive amps and seem to really like them.
  22. I do not have a C700 or M10, but there are several forum members, including me, using Class D amps with their Klipsch speakers and we are very happy with them.
  23. If anything happens to my $80 Class D amp I will throw it away. I do not need to add to my stack of "some day I will get it fixed" amps. They already take up way too much space in my storage room...LOL
  24. I reposted this question in the Two Channel topic and got more response. After researching, I ended up purchasing a Bluesound Node to serve the streaming function and (originally) ran it through my Marantz 1060. I have since purchased a little Class D amp to go with it and I'm really happy with the results. In the other thread, someone posted a link to a review that led me to Bluesound (sister company to NAD). I've included a link to the thread. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/204143-nad-c-700-any-experiencethoughts/&tab=comments#comment-2683743
