  1. I bought the Node. As jcn3 says, the control app is the same. It is generally easy but not perfect. Navigation is a little clunky. At least it is to me so far. I'm running it on my iPad rather than trying to do it on my phone, just because the size of the screen makes it so much easier to read. So far, I haven't been able to get my TV to play through my amp/speakers, either. The TV shows that the sound output is HDMI and the BlueOS app shows the Node is using the HDMI input, but nothing comes out of the speakers. I will continue to tinker. I have to say, the Amazon music catalog is pretty sweet. For a monthly fee of less than one CD per month, I have access to tons of music I would probably never buy, but it is great to be able to try it out. And, the sound is fantastic. CD quality or better on 75 million songs.
  2. I think this was meant for @Rodak. I'm in Iowa and already own Forte llls. 😄

    What I Got Today!

    Wow, that's a score!
  4. The Node is in the house! The user interface is going to take some learning, but I'll get it in time. The unit arrived Friday afternoon and I rushed to get it set up before company arrived. It was easy enough to launch a "station" using my Amazon Music Unlimited subscription so we had some nice background music for the evening. Saturday morning, I played a little more to try to get a little deeper into what all this little baby can do. Still, I ended up kicking off the Little Feat Station and just enjoyed listening for several hours. I think I'm going to love this thing!
  5. I'm also using an upgraded 1060. Mine is a few years older than yours, but it is part of the reason I started looking at Klipsch in the first place. I have a pretty large listening room and I wanted an efficient speaker that could be driven comfortably by the 1060. I don't typically listen at high volumes, but I do like detail and a "live" sound. When I heard the Forte llls I was hooked. They were priced a bit more than I was planning to spend, but everything I listened to that was less money left me wanting.

    What I Got Today!

I actually got this Friday, so I'm a couple of days late, but I have a new Bluesound Node audio streamer. There is going to be a bit of a learning curve, but part of the reason I'm late in posting is that I kicked off the Little Feat Station on Amazon Music Unlimited at about 7 AM and spent the next several hours listening to old favorites plus tons of stuff I've never heard before. A slice of heaven!
  7. Welcome to the Forum. I'm a recent newbie as well. I suggest the Garage Sale section as well (Home>The Klipsch Joint>Garage Sale). I don't think you will find much in the $300 range, but you might. What size of room are you dealing with?
  8. I have a similar complaint about "media consoles". What I want is simplicity itself, but I can only find it if I'm willing to spend a couple of thousand $. GRRRR
  9. I'm currently reading The Count of Monte Cristo. I'm not sure how I made it to 68 without having read it. The style and language make it a challenging read so I've taken a couple of breaks with lighter fare like selections from Terry Pratchett's Diskworld series.
  10. While 80 wpc would probably be more than enough with the 99 db efficiency Forte llls (at least for the way I listen), I hear what you are saying. When I auditioned the speakers at the dealer, he was using a 125 wpc Adcom to power them and they sounded so incredible. We're in a temporary apartment while our house is being rebuilt, so I can't play them very loud, anyway. I'm really anxious to see how they are going to sound in my own listening room. I'll have to wait and see if the 1060 will be enough or if I will want to kick the power up. In my heart, I probably already know the answer, but I'm not going to tell my wife just yet.
  11. After listening through the review, I checked out the Bluesound products and ended up ordering a Node. I'm going to try it through my re-capped Marantz 1060 to start with. Later, I may add more amplifier power, but I think the Node will give me the streaming and eArc capabilities I want with the added flexibility of downstream options. Thanks, again, for posting the link. It was really helpful. Also nice to hear that you like your M10. And, I will check out the RC1 remote.
  12. @techguy52 Thanks for posting this. I hadn't seen it and it gives a lot to think about. Definitely need to check out the Bluesound products. I know this will probably make purists cringe, but I'm leaning strongly to something like the C 700. And, the inclusion of eARC is a plus. It would have been great if he had tried it with some Klipsch speakers, but he did at least suggest the experience might be different with more efficient speakers. Unfortunately, there are no local dealers for the Klipsch Heritage line and only a couple of NAD dealers.
  13. This thread is a great inspiration to me. We are in the process of rebuilding our home after a fire and I can really relate to your anticipation of getting everything complete so you can get those new speakers set up in their new home and get to listening! The first two pictures show the future home of my Forte llls. Can't wait!
  14. I posted this in the Solid State thread the other day but haven't had any responses. Perhaps that was the wrong spot so I will try it here. I've been looking at a variety of options to power my Forte llls and I'm really curious about the NAD C 700. It appears to be a slightly stripped down version of the NAD M 10 music streamer amp. Has anyone actually heard one or one of the similar NAD products? I've seen the M 10 recommended a few times, but have seen nothing of the C 700. https://nadelectronics.com/product/c-700/
  15. I suspect the ebony briar, before being hand-crafted into the mystical clamp, is aged in a hermetically sealed chamber designed and built using the Golden Mean and filled with dragon farts.

  17. I love this post! So much so that I just forced my wife to listen to my summation of the thesis. I just stumbled onto this thread this morning and I'm sure to spend hours over the next few days reading through it all. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts.
  18. There is a subthread in the Two Channel Home Audio/Solid State thread entitled Dacs. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/195613-dac’s/ I believe there is another entitled something like Digital Front End, but I haven't found it yet.
  19. So true. For my tastes and how I like to listen to music, these are by far the best speakers I've ever owned. What's more, my wife is impressed. And, since the best response I've ever gotten out of her with previous equipment upgrades was a grudging, "uh huh...that's nice", that's saying a lot. Maybe someday I will win the lottery and go for bigger and better, but for now I'm happy. In all honesty, I love reading post from so many people so enthusiastic about so many different things. Such fun!
  20. You all are making me feel bad. I just bought a pair of Forte llls a few weeks ago and I'm deep in the infatuation stage just getting to know them better and better and you guys come along telling me the lVs are SOOOOOO much better. I'm also the guy who was traumatized to learn that there were at least 28 flavors of ice cream beyond vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.
  21. You are correct. My new speakers are Forte lll. Even in the apartment with a far less than ideal set up, I smile every time I listen to them.
  22. The cabinets look like they were built to accommodate the speakers. Nice fit! Yes, it is a compromise, but they are still going to sound a lot better than Alexa. Congratulations on the new house!
  23. Thanks for the welcome. My listening room is my basement family room. It's 650 sq. ft with 9 ft. ceilings. But, that is the total room. The area where I will actually listen is more like 3,000 cu. ft., but is not closed off. I did listen to the Cornwalls at the dealer, but they were a lot more money than I felt I could spend. The apartment we're in right now actually has more total volume than the family room will have, and the Fortes get very loud if I turn the volume on the 1060 past about a 10 o'clock position. Unfortunately, the apartment is all hard surfaces and bad furniture placement that can't really be helped. As you might imagine, I'm anxious to get back into my own home. I look forward to posting pic
  24. Greetings all! I recently purchased a pair of Forte llls, and these are the first Klipsch speakers I’ve ever owned. I’m also new to the forum, so I guess that makes me a triple newbie. I’m here to discuss and learn and look forward to both as a new member. A few months ago, my wife and I lost our home to a fire, and we are in the process of rebuilding. For the next few months, we are living in an apartment which isn’t the ideal environment for the Fortes, but I’m enjoying them none the less. I’m powering them with an upgraded Marantz 1060 and have an Oppo Digital CD/DVD player and a Fluance turntable that I haven’t been able to hook up yet. When rebuilt, my listening room will be approximately 6,000 cubic feet and should give the Fortes an opportunity to really shine. When I auditioned them in the store, they were being driven by an upgraded 125 wpc Adcom fronted by a cheap receiver (the store owner’s description). I was totally blown away by how detailed and live they sounded even at a very moderate volume. I don’t typically listen to my music loud, but I do love detail and a great soundstage. Even in the apartment, I’m getting some of that with the 1060, but not like I did in the larger listening room at the store with a more powerful amp. I don’t anticipate making any equipment changes before I’ve had a chance to hear what everything I currently have will do in my home, but I’m going to enjoy following the forums to learn what others have learned and done. The journey is just beginning. I look forward to being part of the community.
