  1. What on earth were you doing posting a thread to make sure you were going to get a good deal for $50. You should have been on your way to go get them.
  2. I found this little gem: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-UCONTROL-UCA202-USBAudio-Interface?sku=702540 Behringer U Control. I use this in my office at work. It has an optical out or analog outs. I use the analog outs because I have not gotten around to bringing an optical cable to work yet. It sounds great and is as easy as can be to hook up. Just plug and play. For $30 you cannot go wrong. I have used this with high end speakers and it sounded very good.
  3. Thanks for the info. Looking at the output and wattage I assumed it was a QSC that we were talking about. I have a few questions about the resistor change. I learned about it on Basstalk and spoke to the guy in Denver who figured it out. It looks like the value of the resistor is what you want the input impedence to be on Balanced, or 1/2 of what you want the unbalanced input impedence to be. Am I correct? I may have the balanced and unbalanced reversed but I am more concerned with the values. Next question, are these regular curcuit boards that are easy to solder on or are we talking about microelectronics like the Teac L700 amps boards? Thanks again. I have a PLX 1202 that I have already changed the fan on to a low flow Paniflow and I have wanted to change the input impedence to get it closer to the other amps in my tri-amp setup.
  4. I have a Klipsch SW15 that is in mint condition for sale. It was about $1500 when new (Klipsch's top of the line). It will fill a very large room with plenty of bass (it made my fireplace rattle). I just bought a JL F113 and now do not need this one anymore. $300 plus shipping. Email me if interested..
  5. Jeff, is that you? Did you move away from Houston?
  6. So if you take a shower and the bath towel is in use you do not cover your amp? After your done, but the towel is still wet is it considered "not in use" and therefore goes on your amp? This seems efficient as the heat from the amp should dry the towel. I'm still confused...
  7. Daddy Dee summed it up, it is not worth fixing if there is a real problem. He may be able to use it as a transport if he does not want to spend any money, or he can buy one of the suggested players.
  8. I need to add that I loved my K Horns and never regret buying them. I have the parts to build super K Horns and will eventually put them together.
  9. I have a $500 Denon CD player from 1989 in my offcie (DCD 1400). It has optical and coaxial digital outs. It is a harsh sounding player but a great transport using the DAC in my Panasonic SA XR55.
  10. To all out there, Roc can hook you up with an awesome deal on a JL sub - delivered too.
  11. If your amp is stable to 2 ohms you will be just fine. Actually you will have a little more power available because of the lower impenence. It looks like you bought a good amp as it doubles power as impedence is cut in half. My speakers are "8 ohm" speakers that actually present about a 3 ohm load and will fry an amp that is only stable at 8 ohms.
  12. FWIW I use a Behringer DEQ 2496. Usign the mic and pink noise generator it made a very noticable improvement with my B&W N801's. The speakers sound extremely good without the eq, but when the eq is switched on, the midrange does clean up quite a bit (which is one of the strongest abilities of these speakers). Excellent results for about $350. I could have never dialed in the eq that well. I also used it to balance my subwoofer, which integrates extremely well using the eq.
  13. You do nto need XLR outs to run to an XLR in amp. Just buy or make cables. If you are using a pro amp, make sure that your input impedence matches between the preamp and the amp (by a factor of about 10).
  14. Gilbert, If you have a pair of noisey CCA's, try them in your AH! player. Tubes that are noisey in a preamp can be dead quiet in a DAC. I used Amperex PQ white labels in an AH and was very happy with them.
  15. Go listen. For $75 how can you go wrong if it sounds decent?
  16. Nice work. That subwoofer has a deeeeeep throw. What are the dimensions of the box. It looks really deep.
  17. Joe, Email me, I have a really good deal on a relly good table, cart and cleaning machine. Please send your email address so that I can send photos.
  18. BRAVO! That is exactly what I wanted to post. I found that as I bought better equipment, I started to listen at lower volumes. I now usualy listen at 75 db or so and get all the detail that I want. Sometimes I "crank" it to 85 or even 90 db. Get your checkbook out...
  19. I thought that a 15" TC in a sealed enclosure requires a 1 ft^2 box (or am I thinking of a different model?)
  20. I have a mint one for sale. Email me your email address and I can send pictures.
  21. The 15" or 18". Both a very similar in price. I'd like to build 2.
  22. I meant qsc rmx. it is a serious amp. EAR, I looked up the TC Sounds drivers. The sealed enclosures are small. The site said that they are less efficient. How low will they go and how much less efficient are they? Do you recommend a sealed enclosure or ported? Thanks.
  23. crown rmx 4050 hd, crown i tech, qsc plx 3, qsc plx 3602, two crown xti 4000, is the 5200 dual voice coil? I forget..... BTW when are you ever going to use the 3200 rms watts the xti4000 can supply? mono bridged. I think you mean QSC PLX 4050. I had a demo at home on my B&W's. Pretty serious amps for woofers. Lots of power.
