Welcome to the forum, It's better to have to much power than not enough. You can do just as much damage pushing your 50 wpc amp. What you don't want to do is push any amp hard enough to distort or clip.
  3. I liked it to , seen it on the Rave channel HD 5.1. [Y] (dish network) Soundstage does a good job, the dvd's are recorded very well and the video is also good. I have a couple of the Sound Stage dvd's but not Peter F, never found it in the stores? Watching that show made me feel OLD, I went to his first concert tour, he looked like he was 18, we both have changed too much ! http://www.pbs.org/wttw/soundstage/featured.htm
  4. I am with OB on this one, with Denon as my last choice. I went with Yamaha, I compared it with the Denon in the same price range and the Denon did not compare in sound or features. But I do hear good reviews of the HK, but they seem to be a little more money if you just look at WPC. Of course that's just personal opinion ! [:|] And I can't belive that old rumor is still around about Yamaha's being bright ! Listen for yourself.
  5. The worst part of Michael's post is the man has real talent behind the camera. And he has a way with people, at a wedding everything is crazy, he not only takes the pictures but organizes and keeps things moving along. At the same time makes everybody laugh and smile, almost like a comedian with a camera who takes great pictures. It's very easy to see when someone is very good at what they do, it shows I feel lucky to know him and have a chance to see him work ! Thank You Michael ! He never gives himself the credit he deserves ? []
  6. Be careful that's enough to curl your hair, never mind it's to late ! [A]
  7. W O W , big difference, great picture !
  8. Never thought about it that way, good point! [Y] Would tubes be equal to oil painting & SS to digital, sorry...[:$]
  9. My last film camera was a Nikon, but it died, haven't been taking pic's. For snapshots we have been using a Kodak EasyShare 5.0. Have been looking at cameras ever since Michael Colter came here in December, he has a very nice digital Nikon. Looking at his camera made me want to start taking pictures again, without spending that much money for the camera. I have not decided which Nikon I want but it will be digital. From everything I have read I really like the Nikon D80 . I want to go to digital because a couple of months ago we went through all of my old pictures, a big box, a few thousand pictures. And this was just the pictures that did not make it into photo albums, and there is another box of slides that we have not even looked through yet. Not that these pictures were trash, but just think of the money I could have saved by not printing all of those. And on the other side of it when you want a picture of something you can take more and try some things you may not with film, because you can just save the ones you want to keep, and you don't have to print them just to see how they came out. No more film for me, I could buy a new camera with the cost of just the leftover pictures from the past that just didn't quite come out as expected. What was said is true, I did take much more time with film, But the new digital SLR still gives you all the control as film, and more control after the pic is taken ................That is if I can retrain myself on all this new equipment and editing after the shot ?
  10. The smoker box on the left is 21" wide X 26" deep and 4' tall. The area next to it is almost 5' long and 26" deep. The firebox is 2 foot square with a rack to build the fire on and an ash tray that slides out from under the rack. The sell the propane log lighters that light the firewood in the firebox to make it easier. There is a threaded nipple welded on the smoker door and the other big door for separate thermometers in each compartment. I think when it's done I will try to find someone to sandblast it, so it could be painted, I hate to think about useing a wire wheel or grinder that much.
  11. If the pic is to big please resize it.[A]
  12. Told you it was Ugly, It will be OK when it's done, still have some customizing to do, before it's cleaned up.
  13. Dtel, This is a very nice cooker you are using as an example. Who builds this one? Sorry Daddy Dee, I thought I had put it. http://www.tejassmokers.com/ Model 2044cc I think it was. I am going to post a pic in a few minutes, remember it's not done and not very pretty, but one day it will be, soon as I get back to it, been on other projects.
  14. Never took the pic yet but here is a good link..................http://www.thesmokering.com/
  15. I will try to remember to take a pic of it tomorrow, then I will get Christy to post it. The one time I tried to post a pic it came out the size of a postage stamp ? If I ever get around to finishing it. One of the things I have not figured out is I would like to put burners in it for propane so when I want to cook I don't have to light wood or coals. Many times we decide to BBQ kind of late in the evening and it would make it quicker, or if I just want to cook something small. I was trying to avoid the regular burners they use in most gas grills because they don't last very long before burning out even the stainless ones, and the cast iron ones are small when you are trying to cover a 2 foot by 4 foot area. Thinking about building some out of some heavy SS tubes, not that lightweight moulded ones like in most pits. Or I may look at some commercial burners if the price in not crazy ? We cook on the grill at least once or twice a week, year round. One of the reasons I wanted to build a bigger pit/smoker is for some occasions we BBQ, Mothers day, July 4 th, and many more, where others are invited, besides the 9 that live here ! So when I have stuff that takes a while to cook like chicken breast or pork loins that can fill a pit and take a long time, holds up stuff like hamburgers and hot dogs and sausage. Edit: It put *** where I put b r e a s t , I was talking about chicken.[:$]
  16. Too bad , that would kill anything you would find for more than twice what he is asking, or more easily. It's more than worth it for just the front 3 he is selling, on the way to pick them up stop here and you can hear what Forte ll's sound like in HT, you would be in a hurry when you left here to get to them !
  17. It has a fire box, but I want to put gas burners in it so when I want to cook something and don't want to build a fire. A few more little things then sand it down and paint it (out side only), does anyone know of any paint that can be sprayed with a car spray gun. This thing is big and those little spray cans of high temp paint will not go far, but it's the only real high temp paint I have ran across so far. It was made out of a long propane tank and a couple sheets of steel, a couple of heavy duty bushhog tires on one end to swivel, and some diy wheels made out of steel pipe on the other end. I don't know what I was thinking you can't roll it buy hand ? I drag it around with the tractor or pick it up with the bucket, it weighs about #1300. It will outlast me, although that might not be saying much. When Michael was here he seen it out in the back yard and gave me one of them, are you crazy looks. It could cook a whole pig and another 100 LBS of meat at the same time. The answer is yes I am a little crazy, but I hate to not have enough space when I BBQ and the upright part can be used as a smoker, it's about 5' from the fire box, with its own thermometer. I love the taste of Hickory.
  18. I have a home made one designed after this, mine it a little bigger .I have a few more things to do on it and it will be done.
  19. I was wondering if anybody would notice how long it took me, It's not the first time that happened to me. I failed typing in HS [:|]
  20. That's a good point Indy... think a good question to ask them to ponder is this. "What do they want us to know about Klipsch that we can tell others about when we go home?" I read the book about PWK, but it would be nice to hear a few minutes of the tapes Roy talked about ? To tell the truth I have so much to learn about all of this Anything is fine with me, the only thing I KNOW is how to enjoy music. So anything that happens is fine with me ! I know all of you in Indy want it to go well , and I remember Trey almost killed himself trying to make sure everything went well in Hope last year, he worked as hard as any human could, no joke, ask anyone that was there ! What I would like to see is the people who are putting this thing together also have a good time, It will be a hit whatever we do, don't give yourself high blood pressure over it. Remember who you are dealing with, a bunch of people who are thrilled trying a bunch of speakers and amps to compare, with plenty of [bs] being tossed around and a few . Hey they had live bands in Hope and you could not pry many out of the listening room in the farmhouse ! Not much help I know, sorry [A]
  21. If I didn't have to work I would go get them.... $65 for the pair http://neworleans.craigslist.org/ele/328327495.html
  22. I am no expert, but I would say Mr Colter was correct they are 30 years old. Since no one else has answered.........I don't think it's an emergency, but the older they get the further they get from original spec. Someone with some actual experience can give more specific reasons, I have never done it myself, just going by what I have read here 50 times. I don't think it will blow out anything if you don't do it, but from all I have read you will hear a real difference . EDIT : while I was typing Bob posted so there you go....[Y]
  23. Bet he couldn't push over a LaScala, there built short a fat, and heavy.
  24. CORNWALL lll,..................OH never mind you gave me a pair already ! [] T H A N K Y O U Trey, and Klipsch, and Treys little girl for picking my name ! Because they never had Klipschorns on there , Jubs !
