  1. To busy ? Just walk in there, he don't know what you look like. Act like a new customer looking around the store with $ to spend, bet he would have time to spend with you then. After about ten minutes tell him who you are, see what kind of excuse he has then.
  2. I don't know about the first 2 models , but the lll's are hardwood plywood, and the woofer is moved up a few inches. Also the mid and high drivers are titanium, don't know if the horns themselves are different ? Look for yourself.........................http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/thread/777100.aspx
  3. Work has been slow with all the rain or I would have. With the condition of those the original Fortes would have gone in the shop to give all F ll's inside.
  4. I don't know him I just read it in 2 CH and it sounds like a nice set. ATTENTION! FORTE II'S FOR SALE!
  5. Cause he's Oldbuckster, when you get that old and crankey you can do what you want. [:S]
  6. [:|] No thanks I'll stick with the problems I presently don't know how to deal with !
  7. It was a good show, PBS's Soundstage sells Dvds of some of there shows on there website. Robert Plant also has a good one , it was on the Rave channel. Can't find them locally may have to order from Soundstage. http://www.pbs.org/wttw/soundstage/featured.htm
  8. Boom, Riverside lumber was the place I was thinking of, there was 8' of water there, they may be reopened ? There is a guy with a sawmill about 2 miles from here, I have bought some Cypress and Pine from him in the past, cheap. I still have three of the Cypress boards left, have been saving them till I figure out what I want to build with them. The three boards are 1" thick and 14" wide and about 10' long. I have been having that Cypress for about 2 years and it's hard to belive it hasn't cupped being 14" wide or bent in any way. I also have about 12 Mahogany boards 1 1/4" X 8" X 10' will make something nice when I figure out what that " something " is, Mahogany is not easy to come by, or cheap,
  9. I can't help with recommendations but I love your ideas. and Jubilees would definitely ( make a statement ) in appearance and sound . If a Jubilee is not the correct speaker they have many pro, or industrial speakers that may fit your needs. If you don't get any good responses or even if you do you may want to contact Trey Cannon and he could send you in the right person. Sounds like a great Idea though, for your business, customers and Klipsch. http://forums.klipsch.com/members/Trey+Cannon.aspx And welcome to the forum.
  10. This might help. Forte ll's were made from 1989--1996 , check those numbers again ? http://home.earthlink.net/~ivol/klipsch_cornwall/klipsch_date_codes.htm
  11. For someone who has over 5800 post and been here for over 6 years, we probably know the least about you you than anyone else here ! We have heard you talk about movies but not much about music, do you ever get to listen, what do you like to listen to. ? What's you favorite Klipsch ? As for me, I am here at least a few times a day, apparently way to much time on my hands.
  12. I would have to say, Lets make a deal and The Newlywed Game, also Family Feud. Some of the old game shows are being replayed on Satellite on The Game show channel, still funny. You can really see how much things have changed over time watching some of the old shows.
  13. Hope it works out, it would be nice for you to hear what was said between you and your dad back then.
  14. I like it , bet it sounds great, I love the sound of Heresy lll's. Turning the riser around was a nice idea to tilt them down. That would be a tough wall to paint being that tall, really nice looking kitchen.
  15. Indy we did the same thing where we lived before we moved here. It was a old house on 18 acres which was surrounded buy the Pearl River swamp, no neighbors for miles. We would have parties with a bonfire ( in the winter ) about 100' from the house. I would put the speakers on the front porch and when it got late and everybody settled down with chairs around the fire, the sound was great. We would sit out there for hours under trees over 100' tall by the fire and listen, the only light was the fire. It's kind of like when you listen to music and close your eyes, it always sounds better. There is something about the open spaces that makes it sound better, I always liked outdoor concerts better.
  16. By far the best players are the one's that wear those short little white dress type things , no contest !
  17. Hey I don't know very much about over the air antenna's but you could call one of the people recommended on this thread, or someone who sells that type of antenna and ask for Tech support. I hear those tech support people really know their products, and sometimes they are fanatics about their products and love to help ! I'm sure you would get good advice if you caught one that loved their products ! Sorry, couldn't help myself, ...........but it's true ! []
  18. You live close enough to the city you should be able to pick it up, if it's broadcast in HD on the local station.
  19. I guess I need to change that, it's south Mississippi. Hearing about all that new Macintosh ordered, makes me want to go kick my old Yamaha. [] Too many other projects already started to even think about any changes for now.
  20. Ahhh, that " NEW " speaker smell ! [Y]
  21. The Heresy lll's sound VERY nice, We had a chance to hear them in Hope last summer. It was the first time we had a chance to listen to the heresy lll, I was really impressed. They have the same mid-range and High frequency driver as the the Cornwall lll, and they sound much bigger than they look !
  22. " Gosh Mr. DTEL , you had to count the waitresses money ?! I sense a bitter manager , I've encountered a few of those myself . But seeing as how you worked 80 to 90 hours a week I can see why ! "Who the heck did you work for ? Thats absurd , theres only 168 hours in a week !!!" I believe the cost of living has gone up a bit in the last 21 years don't you ? As far as making more money than my managers . With the exception of the general manager , I do . Hey we all chose our paths . It's not my fault that your boss would not pay you a competitive wage anymore than it's your fault that my base pay has only gone up 12 CENTS IN 21 YEARS . I would bet you got money back at tax time . Care to guess how much I owe ? I'll give you a hint , in 2006 my W2 shows that only $9.00 was taken out for state taxes ?! " Hey i'm not " Mr " dtel...............No I wasen't bitter, just burn't out . [:S] No, I didn't have to count their tips, just did anything to help. I would help everybody in the store, they knew it, it happened every day. All I expected them to do was there job, as well as they could, if they were trying I was there best friend. And I always treated them with respect , just the opposite of what my district manager wanted, he was one of those people who thought you must be hard on people and threaten them to get them to work. It really ticked him off that everybody at three different stores liked me and wanted to work at my store. When I quit I gave them a 2 week notice and on my last day all my employees gave me a surprise party after the store closed, my wife was surprised when I came home with a bunch of presents. The main reason for quiting was the hours you had to work for little pay. Yes if i got out of there with only 80 hours a week I was very lucky. I never seen my house in the daylight or my kids awake for 3 years, no amount of money was worth that. The hours were so bad for the managers that a few years after I quit i was contacted by a law firm saying I had moved and they didn't have my new address, and was sorry to let me know I was to late to join the class action lawsuit that was started by other managers from many of the other stores. As much as I liked the restaurant business I will never go back. It takes a lot of patience and hard work to do what you do, it's the most important job in the business, you are what gives the customer the impression of the store more than even the food. People will put up with average food but not poor service, over and over. I think the pay for a waitress was $2.13 back then, never could figure out how they came up with that. If you think about it you are correct, you should be paid more, 99% of the time the waitress or waiter is the only employee to even talk to the customer, unless there is a problem, and then it's too late for a good impression.
  23. That " sick of my crap " works, I think my wife does some things just to shut me up ! So that old saying " with Bell's on " will really mean something to you this weekend. [8]
  24. If you think it's hard to find a lumberyard, try finding any decent wood ! For nice exotic wood we have a couple of good places, very expensive though. But for regular building material you really have to pick through it just to find something straight.
