If that's the case, go for high quality fronts and center for now and use your others for the rear (you can update the rears later). The Tweeters in my area still have many fine Klipsch speakers on display. You may only get floor models but see if you can make a deal. They're on commission. Klipsch floor models beat most others in a box!

Not to change the subject, but, SJ993, yes it would be tragic if the Caps, leading the series 2-0 ended up losers. I have the company suite for the game tomorrow. Got lucky because I'm the only Jewish hockey fan at work! Go Caps!!!

Bill - I didn't read your post before replying. That's why I sent the disclaimer. I would never try to "horn" in on someone else's corns. -

Craighorn - Let me know if you want to sell your corns. I'm in MD and while I dont know how far you are, PA is right around the corner. Hard to find someone selling heritage speakers within driving distance. Shipping's a major hassle for those beasts. Thanks, Gary -
On second look, that little swatch does look like zebrawood, only that pic has a knot where the grain is a little different.
-
Definitely not zebrawood. Those are beautiful too! The above photo of zebrawood does not look like mine either. Maybe it's stained zebrawood. Mine are much lighter and have more narrow black streaks of grain. I'll be posting pics of mine tomorrow night assuming my friend with the camera gets back from his relatives at a reasonable hour. You can probably find tigerwood from a high-end woodworking company. If you were near the DC area I could give you a name. Good luck.

My weakness is the "Man of LaMancha" original broadway soundtrack (usually listen in my car on the way to work). Had front row seats at National Theatre in November before they went on Broadway. Pretty cool having a bird's eye view of the orchestra! I also sometimes pop in the soundtrack of "Hair."

How about the cup in our nation's capital?????LOL

One of the first movies we watched with the new HT. My wife about hit the ceiling when the glass shattered in the apartment scene. Overall a pretty good flick I thought.

Klipsch Heritage Series Owners Informal Poll
garymd replied to HDBRbuilder's topic in Technical/Restorations
1. I own 1980 Cornwalls - want to own khorns. 2. I was 20 when I purchased them. 3. I am now 43. 4. In 1980, no speakers in the world sounded better to me than the Klipsch Heritage line and they were big and beautiful. 5. I would like khorns but size could be an issue - another pair of cornwalls or belles are possibly in the future as well as heresys for rear surrounds to match the cornwall front surrounds. 6. No opinion yet. Haven't seen or heard them. -
They are nice. Bought em new in 80. They have the black grill cloth fronts but I'm in the process of having custom (removable) zebrawood fronts built. Should be awesome when completed. I'll post pics soon.
-
Chris - I'll try to get 2 pair (I only need one) and you can have the other. Email me when you get back and I'll let you know if we were successful.

Need recommendation on surround sound rear speakers
garymd replied to Mike16w's topic in Home Theater
The RS3IIs are decent and the WAF is also good if you go with white (as opposed to black). If you have a Tweeters store nearby you could probably get a new pair for around $400. Not like having Heresys but very good for their size (about 20" wide and 10" high) and they hang on walls nicely. -
I hate to say I told you so, but I knew you'd get overwhelmed with requests. I just hope mine gets to you within the time limits. I'm having custom (removable) matching wood fronts made for my cornwalls so I will retain the newer label that came with my speakers when I use the grill clothes but have the pie logo on my wood fronts. Thanks again and good luck. I'm afraid you'll be turning down a lot of good folks.

I'll post pics in a couple weeks after my family room's remodeling is done. Right now they're covered with sheets in the basement. Maybe I'll have my friend take some this weekend for me just so we can compare. Are yours laquered? Mine are CZSL which I believe stands for Cornwall Zebrawood (Semi-gloss????) Laquered. The S is only a guess. Anyone know for sure?

Hey Tigerwood - Are your K-horns tigerwood or zebrawood or is that the same wood/different name. My cornwalls are zebrawood and I've never seen any others. Just curious. Light, natural color wood with black streaks of grain. Very nice. I'd love to see them in k-horns.

Justin - You're alright with me no matter what the other 99.9% of the forum says!! -
Thanks Stephen. Can't wait. Probably another 2 weeks or so unfortunatly. Lots of work to be done on the room and my wife takes her time when it comes to decorating.
-
BTW Mattbugz - I was told I got the last one "new in a box" at Tweeters (east coast anyway). You can probably find one for that price over the net (I've seen a few). Someone had a new one on ebay for $988 I think. Price was $1499 before they began their markdowns.

I'm having the same problem. They mentioned something about updates so I assume they're fixing something.
