  1. dtel: Never apologize for long posts until you beat mine. No one can put everything together in one day. And fro as long as we may be in into Audio and as much as we think we know, there's always something to learn. Then we pass it on I have my rants - vents about a subject or five. Cost of Equipment is one. See, this was going to be short. Even Amy our Board Administrator knows, no offense ever taken. When She sees it you know they are long. So just enjoy, do what you what when you can and if you want. dodger

I am REALLY looking for a changer...SORRY...but I do not feel I should be giving up any performance with todays technology running optical out. I DO own a Panosonic DVD player and also run that optical out. I am more a music guy and with around 500 cd's I do like to load more than one at a time (especially at party time!). Thumpel, I have to say, I,m not all that impressed with the KLF-C7. I will be moving Heresy's to center when I find another set of Corn's or Scalas.(don't have the room for 'Horns) Thanks for all the responses! If I HAVE to settle for a single disc player, I will. P.S. I thought having a combo cd/dvd player was an audiophile NO! NO! ---------------- Sorry, no major argument, but... AND NOT YOUR FAULT. The Phillips 963SA is supposed to be a good unit. A few have recommended that to me. But if you can try in home, that is better. dodger
  3. Michael is right. The main goal is deciding whether you want to listen to your components or listen to the music. There is no no harm in wanting to improve your system BUT, there should be a point where you say, "I'm satisfied, the amount of money I put in will not bring me equal gains." At that point you have a SYSTEM and any additions short of new source material or new source Components is playing. dodger
  4. Greetings: In comparing them them to other brands, as usual, Klipsch KG's have it hands down. Depending on price and condition, those would be determining factors. Do you have any more info? dodger
  5. As another New York Stater, it was brought out earlier that some were not reading the subject title. I just see a little poke. There have many threads that did not break down to such pokes or insults, quite refreshing to read. Yes I can skip over the ones that contain those, but I would miss a post like Dr Who's that makes a lot of sense and actually can find whether the sound match is proper. Do we REALLY NEED to resort to personal comments or can we just answer a question, wonder about choice and let the initial poster answer the question. Personally, it shouldn't matter if a component is recommended by any source but the listener. dodger
  6. It sounds as if they have come home. Congratulations, I hope they fulfill all of yours and your Fathers dreams. Perfect choice for a first song after what they've been through and now where they are. My Best, dodger
  7. Sometimes, one or more of your local CD places will also have LPs. Also some stores cater to just LPs, try the Yellow pages. dodger
  8. Greetings: This is simila to what I noted in my 3,000th Post, but extended. I have just had the pleasure of speaking with Michael Hurd. As I have the bigger mouth, I probably did more talking. Very nice person, very nice, unexpected conversation. More should be like him and / or have his attitude. As I have said many times, The Forum is a learning place. I have also made friends. I have read jofyul and sad Posts. When I've been down (ill) the Forum has been a place for banter. It serves many purposes for many people. It's safer than a chat room, it has Administrators that can see numerous sides. They take no sides as far as what I have read. Like any group or Family there are spats. But as I said, some of those you have a spat with are the first to answer a Posted question. There are many ways one envisions the world. The Forum comes into that vision. Obviously for quite a few. The talk of speakers other than Heritage seems to be opening. A good sign - a balance. So again, my thanks. Thanks is a word not heard or read enough. But to all that have helped, supported, not only me but others as well - "you want to go where everybody knows your name." Maybe some have other feelings, but I would bet the majority feel the same or close. Win dodger
  9. Dr. Who: No offense meant here. What you posted shows a very completely different side to you. Beyond the textbooks. Enjoy the way you worded it - shows what the enjoyment is. I hope that you don't mind me saying it's nice to see a side enjoying the fun besides your dedication to sound. Enjoy, dodger
  10. $1.50 would be logical. It would even make sense. But, how many of us even have an easy $18,000 + just to hold in our hand for a picture? I know where my dad might tell me to hold mine. Have received no answers yet. Will keep you posted. dodger - thanks for posting the photo and info, sputnik

  16. 1 Computer - 2 Departments needing it - Wife in Finance - mre need. Given Dumb Question to be anwered by 5:00 P.M. Tomorrow. "Whose Face is Depicted on The US Three Dollar Bill?" Not the same person as on quarter or Dollar bill Supposedly the "fifth" face at Mount Rushmore. Have You Ever Seen a Three Dollar Bill? It is Not "Dollar" Bill Fowler. Those are the clues. 18. Interesting. Amy posted that they no longer used that brand when the original flap abut that brand was happening. That was the information I went on.

  21. If you don't mind a little wrinkling, a very light coat of tea will "age" the paper.
  22. A lot of the owners don't go with quality just quantity - "louder is better." When you have to shout, you dry out your vocal cords and mouth by the amount of air forced. This causes one to drink more.
